Celebrity Deadpool 2022 - Which famous people do you think will pass away next year?

It's that time of year again soon when there is a touch of morbid speculation amongst the optimism and festivities of Christmas and New year.

I think among the strongest contenders are President Jimmy Carter, Barbara Walters, Bob Dole, Joanne Woodward.

I thought Bob Dole already died.

by Anonymousreply 1November 12, 2021 6:25 AM

r5 Will be s sad day when Betty White dies the last of the golden girls 😢

by Anonymousreply 7November 12, 2021 6:09 PM

r6 How is her health these days?

by Anonymousreply 8November 12, 2021 6:10 PM

Sadly, Tim Curry..

by Anonymousreply 9November 12, 2021 6:10 PM

She had a stroke and broke her hip a couple of years ago so I assume not good. She hasn't performed since 2017.

by Anonymousreply 10November 12, 2021 6:15 PM

Carter probably feels good that if he died right now he wouldn’t be considered the worst one term President nor as the worst Democratic President in recent history, all thanks to the 2020 Election.

by Anonymousreply 11November 12, 2021 6:27 PM

r10 Loretta I take it you are referring to? Is she in a care home?

by Anonymousreply 12November 12, 2021 10:54 PM

Sarah Palin in a drunk driving accident.

by Anonymousreply 13November 12, 2021 11:43 PM

r13 Is this more of a hope?!

by Anonymousreply 14November 12, 2021 11:44 PM

R12 From what has been shared in the press and social media she appears to still be at home with home healthcare, but her mind is still working and she is still active. She has not performed since the stroke, but has given interviews and made one of her first post-stroke appearances to induct Alan Jackson in the hall of fame in 2017.

by Anonymousreply 15November 13, 2021 12:43 AM

It seems like the predictions so far are based on age. What about health?

DL Eldergay fave Ted Shackelford is lookin' like the crypt keeper, and this photo was from three years ago, when he was 72.

Not sure he'll make it to 2023...

R161, I'd take that bet and quintuple it if it was possible through the DL.

Alzheimer's takes FOR-EVER to kill it's victims. Rita Hayworth had it for probably 20 years before she died. Joanne Woodward hasn't been seen in public for almost 10 years, was rumored to have Alzheimer's circa 2013, and Ronald Reagan was diagnosed in 2003 (many suspected he had it for at least 5 years before that), but didn't die until 2004.

So come to think of it, perhaps Joanne Woodward should be added to the list. But not Tony Bennett.

R185, Alzheimers isn't like an on and off switch. People start to lose it slowly in most cases, they seem fine half of the day and demented the other half. Lesley Stahl wrote that several times when he was in office, Ronald Reagan met her with glazed eyes, seemingly not knowing her or where he was. Then he'd snap back to normal.

by Anonymousreply 195November 19, 2021 4:38 AM

I would have said Queen Elizabeth, but I'm still convinced she's going to pass by the end of this year, possibly before Christmas.

None of the other people I predicted last year passed away I thought they would. We also didn't see any major death this year either. Jimmy Carter might make it to 100 after all. Bill Clinton is more likely to die before he does at this rate.

As for who I think for 2022...

A fat female celebrity, maybe Gabourey Sidibe or Chrissy Metz or even possibly Adele. A young tragic starlet by suicide, maybe someone who isn't really famous Bob Newhart Jack Nicholson If his career doesn't pick up again soon, it wouldn't surprise me if Shawn Mendes takes his own life.

I definitely think the Queen will die. Charles has a reason to hang on (not just to inherit the throne); he has to do a lot of clean up (cutting out royals, getting ready of properties) to create a slimmed down monarchy for Wills. Wills & Kate (for whatever you think of them) are now firmly ensconced in their role as Next Generation Royals and all the fuss & the Harkles create won't change that.

This is wildly optimistic on my part, but while I don't think he'll die, I think Trump will suffer some type of debilitating stroke, leaving him to a Weekend At Bernie's type existence, while his kids & his toadies fight for the MAGA crown, making Succession look like Sesame Street.

Do you really think Chauvin is not a target?

The only ones obsessed with twinks is you old queens on DL. The rest of the world doesn't share your obsession. Besides, I am sure most guys in there are not looking to "make love" to Chauvin. LOL Do you think someone needs to be attracted to shove objects up someone's ass?

The Prison System is not run by cops. That is a separate organization. They have no incentive to look out for him.

So unless arrangements are made to keep Chauvin out of gen pop, he will most definitely be beaten and raped for what he did to Floyd.

If you think otherwise then you know nothing about how prison systems operate or what rape is!

by Anonymousreply 387December 25, 2021 5:49 PM

R387, it's twinks getting raped in prison. No one wants to rape old men, whether they're in prison or not. You obviously know nothing about prison. Or about rape.

Old people (men and women) get raped, especially in prison.

Why don't you try educating yourself before hopping on here to flame at people when you don't know what the hell you are talking about?

by Anonymousreply 400December 26, 2021 2:30 AM

"Old people (men and women) get raped, especially in prison."

I think GSN believes that Peter Marshall died this year. In the last couple weeks of the year - probably for contractual reasons - airs, in the early morning hours, '50s-early '70s old Goodson-Todman game shows. Always WML & either IGaS or TTTT. The WML shows typically include someone on the panel/mystery guest who died that year. Since so many of the panelists/mystery guests from the network show are long gone, I've noticed that GSN is looking to the syndicated shows to showcase the newly-deceased. Last night, GSN aired a syndicated WML that featured Peter Marshall as the mystery guest.

R482- Mick Jagger is ALWAYS flying to NYC to have some type of procedure done. I guess if he had the procedures done in the UK he'd have to wait in line for a year or two. In NYC he's taken care of immediately- with his $500 million dollar fortune.

by Anonymousreply 518January 8, 2022 4:17 PM

Sidney Poitier wasn’t just getting up there in age. At 94 he’d arrived at old age twenty years ago.

by Anonymousreply 519January 8, 2022 4:57 PM

R517 I wouldn’t be surprised if Harry is next unfortunately. His daughter told People Magazine he was taking Sidney’s death very hard.

by Anonymousreply 520January 8, 2022 6:21 PM

I haven’t a clue, but I predict a sudden death in the Royal Family that isn’t her majesty. Perhaps the Duchess of Pork? Prince Charles, even though old and salivating over the throne, will probably make it through ‘22.

by Anonymousreply 521January 8, 2022 7:02 PM

R520, they weren't a couple.

by Anonymousreply 522January 8, 2022 7:16 PM

R522 Harry is approaching 95 and just lost a good friend for 60+ years who was the same age as him. It must be painful for him even if they weren’t a couple.

by Anonymousreply 523January 8, 2022 7:19 PM

I once sat one table over from Poitier at Spago (after it moved from the far more cool Tower Records adjacent locale) and he was there with his wife and a.few friends. He didn't smile or say a word the whole night, just ate and stared ahead, looking miserable. I could relate because I was there with the crazy ex-wife of Jon Peters and couldn't wait for it to be over. Ah, the so-called glamorous life where folks didn't get what they wanted and resent it or got what they wanted and resent it more.

by Anonymousreply 524January 8, 2022 9:10 PM

That makes some sense, R523, but Harry also has a wife, three children and numerous grand and great grand children. Sidney Poitier was a good and long friend, but Harry isn't going to DIE over a good friend.

by Anonymousreply 525January 8, 2022 11:28 PM

Yeah but they also bonded over civil right and the fight -- big time.

by Anonymousreply 526January 9, 2022 1:47 AM

R517 Belafonte beat prostate cancer 25 years ago. Of course he is taking his friend's death hard, but he aint going nowhere!

by Anonymousreply 527January 9, 2022 9:09 AM

You could say that about Harry and Lena Horne, R526, but they weren't speaking at the time of her death. He skipped the funeral.

by Anonymousreply 528January 9, 2022 1:24 PM

r521 The Duke or Duchess of Kent much more likely to die than Sarah Ferguson.

by Anonymousreply 529January 10, 2022 12:16 AM

Older people suffer greatly when their peers die. Imagine how awful it would be to outlive your peers. Imagine how lonely it would be if there was nobody alive who remembered what you were like when you were young.

by Anonymousreply 530January 10, 2022 1:05 AM

R518 Wouldn't it be deliciously ironic of Mick Jagger died in a plane crash en route to one of his procedures?

by Anonymousreply 531January 10, 2022 1:13 AM

[quote]Imagine how awful it would be to outlive your peers

EVERYONE DOES, deal with it before it's your turn.

by Anonymousreply 532January 10, 2022 1:55 AM

Why does Datalounge get so excited about celebrity deaths?

by Anonymousreply 533January 10, 2022 2:00 AM

Because celebrities are MORE IMPORTANT than regular folk!

by Anonymousreply 534January 10, 2022 2:07 AM

Anyone predict Bob Saget? wow

by Anonymousreply 535January 10, 2022 3:01 AM

"EVERYONE DOES, deal with it before it's your turn."

Not quite. Bob Saget died with most of his peers still very much alive (except Norm). Even Bob's beloved friend Pete Davidson is deeply upset and issued a rare statement.

by Anonymousreply 536January 10, 2022 3:19 AM

R535, nope, it looks like no one put Bob Saget on this list. He's the first unexpected death of 2022.

by Anonymousreply 537January 10, 2022 9:44 AM

R536 Undoubtedly Pete Davidson issued a blunt statement

by Anonymousreply 538January 11, 2022 1:49 AM

I had Robert Durst at r197!

by Anonymousreply 539January 11, 2022 2:12 AM

Hmmmmm. 540 replies and I'm the first one to consider Tina Turner, who looked extremely frail in her most recent public appearances and has been plagued by one serious medical situation after another over the last several years. I hope I'm wrong!

by Anonymousreply 551January 12, 2022 12:10 AM

Jasper Johns - I made a post about his inclusion when I could not find this thread.

Liza Kissinger? Fuck knows how I managed that. Minnelli, of course - R565

by Anonymousreply 566January 12, 2022 10:00 PM

R433 - I thought Nehemiah Persoff died last year for some reason. I was mistaken. A quick search brought up an interview over Zoom on You Tube from less than 2 months ago of the youngest 102 year old man I’ve come across. Astounded.

by Anonymousreply 567January 12, 2022 10:21 PM

JOE NAMATH

by Anonymousreply 568January 12, 2022 10:31 PM

R568 - what, with all that Medicare coverage he has? He'll outlive everybody!

by Anonymousreply 569January 13, 2022 12:42 AM

Joe Namath & the Jets shocked the sporting world when they won Super Bowl III 53 years ago today.

CAITLYN JENNER

0ne surgery too many....

by Anonymousreply 571January 13, 2022 2:09 AM

From football - Sonny Jurgensen is old as hell. Roman Gabriel is pretty old.

by Anonymousreply 572January 13, 2022 2:11 AM

Unfortunately Two Soap Veterans:

1.) John Aniston (Jennifer's Daddy who currently stars as Victor Kiriakis on Days of our Lives). He is 88 and in all his scenes he remains seated. They never show him leave or enter a room.

2.) Bill Hayes (Days of our Lives). He is 96!

by Anonymousreply 573January 13, 2022 2:20 AM

Sergio Mendes

Herb Alpert

He's 98 years old and he doesn't look so good.

Stella Stevens

by Anonymousreply 580January 16, 2022 5:34 PM

R580, Stella Stevens already died last year or the year before.

by Anonymousreply 581January 16, 2022 6:37 PM

R581, Stella Stevens is still around, at 83 yrs old.

by Anonymousreply 582January 16, 2022 6:53 PM

Val Kilmer

by Anonymousreply 583January 16, 2022 7:04 PM

R580, must be thinking of Inger Stevens who - in 1970 - recently died.

by Anonymousreply 584January 16, 2022 7:16 PM

Or may be Ruby Stevens? She died in 1990 under the name of Barbara Stanwyck.

by Anonymousreply 585January 16, 2022 9:30 PM

Samantha Stephens died in 1995.

by Anonymousreply 586January 16, 2022 9:41 PM

Poor Stella has had Alzheimer’s disease for a while. Joanne Woodward, 92 next month, has had it even longer.

by Anonymousreply 587January 16, 2022 9:57 PM

Stella's "Poseidon Adventure" co-star, Carol Lynley, died in 2019. Is she who R581 is thinking about?

by Anonymousreply 589January 16, 2022 11:40 PM

R589 There needs to be a thread alongside this one (assuming there isn't already) so we can see which predictions were right if any.
