Ostensibly depressing things that make you happy

The wonderful song "Come With Me" sung by Stacy Kent over the opening sequence of Ian McKellen's Richard III always makes me happy - despite being an ironic commentary of selfish upper-class society in the face of the looming threat of fascism.

Is there something that you know is sinister/melancholy/corrupt that still makes you happy?

The unravelling of human society by 2040.

The song "Sally Go 'Round the Roses" by the Jaynetts.

It's depressing, but it's so enjoyably creepy.

Gordon Lightfoot's music has a lot of contenders here.

I wouldn't say a song like "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" makes me happy - it's more like a kind of idea of awe in the face of a great and honored legend.
