Mundi, Mundi

In news obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes, the Prado Museum has downgraded “Salvator Mundi” - which sold at auction for $450 million - from being classified as a work by Leonardo da Vinci to a work in the lower category of “attributed works, workshop, or authorized and supervised by Leonardo.”

Because old Salvator is a money-laundering fake (says OP)!

The Prado experts and the Louvre experts, together with some independent art historians have all said it should at most be attributed as "studio of" or "workhop of" da Vinci. The National Gallery in London went out on a limb in saying it was da Vinci, but that was tied to their planned exhibition of the work, a sort of preempive strike to address the questions that would come from every critic writing about the work.
