Am I missing an in joke? Most of the songs are from my time served in a very integrated high school and my black peeps had zero time for REO Speedwagon, Culture Club, Michael Sembello, The Pet Shop Boys, etc. I guess I'm feeling ridiculed ,clowned.
TV ad campaigns featuring black guys singing very "white" pop music

It's cultural appropriation.

The only thing black about white OP is her dreads which should be illegal on all white people. It looks horrible.

Didn’t all of that “white” electronic dance music” begin with a black singer named Donna Summer?

I'm pretty sure every producer involved with Donna Summer's disco career, including her husband, were all white. Her being black doesn't mean anything. Her white producers started the italo-house phenomenon.

I like the advert--maybe for insurance?--where the black groom leaves his wedding on a motorcycle singing a very white song, only to snap back to reality to his new bride telling him she'll be driving the motorcycle with him in the side car.
I also can't help but notice (in Carrie Bradshaw's typing voice, of course) that most of the customers in the State Farm ads are white. Poor Jake from State Farm, having to play beekeeper with the nerdy white guy.

Black people liked Culture Club. And Wham! and George Michael.

No they didn't. All three were popular with fraus and the gays.

Um. Marsha P created "white" pop music, OP. Everyone knows this.
So kindly fuck off.

R5 Didn’t Donna Summer write “I Feel Love” with Moroder or did she just sing it like you say she did?

R10 "Wrote"! That is hilarious. I think she gets credit for "writing" oooooooooohhhhhhh and it's good.
Here's the lyrics and it's still more complex and original than anything Madonna ever "wrote".
I Feel Love Donna Summer Ooh it's so good, it's so good It's so good, it's so good It's so good Ooh I'm in love, I'm in love I'm in love, I'm in love I'm in love Ooh I feel love, I feel love I feel love, I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love Ooh fall and free, fall and free Fall and free, fall and free Fall and free Ooh you and me, you and me You and me, you and me You and me Ooh I feel love, I feel love I feel love, I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love Ooh, I got you, I got you I got you, I got you I got you Ooh, What you do, what you do What you do, what you do What you do Ooh, I feel love, I feel love I feel love, I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love I feel love

R11 Right and one liners and chanting in electronic music is still a thing today. So you’re saying she was the one to put words, harmonies, and melodies to electronic dance music. Ok.
Even though it also goes to back to King Tubby who invented remixes and dub music. He wasn’t Italian he was Jamaican.

R6, you mean that you can actually find a white person in a commercial these days? How about an Asian , Hispanic, or Native American? No? I wonder why?

R5
Not Italian.
It was the Munich sound.

I don't care about or know anything about Donna Summer. She's waayy before more my time.
But I Feel Love is fucking great song. Couldn't care less if the lyrics are simple and repetitive.

You seem to be desperately looking for some reason to be offended, OP. Bored?
