AstroWorld Tragedy Lawsuit Now has 110 Plaintiffs against Travis Scott, Drake and Live Nation

Lawyers say the lawsuits against Scott and company could total billions of dollars.

[quote] “I represent now about 150 people,” Thomas J. Henry told CNN’s Jack Tapper this afternoon. “That lawsuit will be amended day by day. It’s about 110 people at the moment, but I expect probably by tomorrow lunch it’ll be about 150 and, by the end of the day based on the trends I am seeing and people reaching out to my law firm, that it may get as high as 200 by the end of the day tomorrow.”

Of course it’s Thomas J. Henry.

by Anonymousreply 1November 11, 2021 3:30 AM

There are other lawyers besides him.

The rumor going around SMis that there are more people dead but they haven't been identified. The city and county of Houston fucked up just as much as Scott/Live Nation.

by Anonymousreply 2November 11, 2021 3:34 AM

The woman who the EMTs, or security, or whoever dropped on her head is brain dead and they are just waiting to harvest her organs...but they were saying her being dropped didn't matter because she was already brain dead by the time she was pulled out of the crowd. Yeah, right.

[quote]Of course it’s Thomas J. Henry.

I loved him in E.T.

by Anonymousreply 4November 11, 2021 3:54 AM

The 9 year old is probably brain dead--- swollen brain, damage to major organs. If he survives, he'll be a vegetable.

Why would anyone bring a 9 year old to a concert?

by Anonymousreply 6November 11, 2021 3:56 AM

For some reason, kids liked Travis Scott or he reached out to them, making the AstroWorld music festival which was based on the old theme park in Huston he went as a kid. But his lyrics, songs were just repetitive mumbo-jumbo and mostly violent-themed.

McDonald's wanted to appeal to the inner-city kids and made the Travis Meal. They have now parted ways with Scott.

Hey, maybe Kylie can help with the lawsuits; she's a billionaire isn't she? Forbes said so!

by Anonymousreply 22November 18, 2021 12:56 AM

They're also including Apple Music in the $750 million lawsuit. Two people told the cameraman that people were dead and he told them to go away or he'd have them escorted off. The guy had a walkie-talkie in his back pocket, he could have notified someone. I wonder if he would face criminal negligence.

by Anonymousreply 26November 18, 2021 1:57 AM

They now say at least 12,000 people stormed through the barriers without tickets. There had to be over 50,000 people in that crowd surge.

The promo for Astroworld 2021 showed chaos from 2019 footage with similar crowds crashing the gates and crowds raging. When tickets were sold out, they still used this promo and Scott tweeted to sneak the wild ones in. He has since deleted that tweet.

Looks especially bad for Houston Police Department and planning officials. Are they star stuck? Why do they seem so preoccupied about the reputation of a rapper and his porn adjacent girlfriend? It's just so bizarre and tragic.

by Anonymousreply 28November 18, 2021 3:51 AM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 29November 18, 2021 1:14 PM

I figure it's thinning the herd fortunately, taking children at that, who in their right mind goes to such a big gathering in this day and age? This with right wing domestic terrorists plotting right and left, these kind of events are just waiting for a bomb or mass poisoning etc to happen. These kinds of large gatherings shouldn't take place anymore, it's just a matter of time before something happens and people will wail and cry.

by Anonymousreply 30November 18, 2021 1:48 PM

Travis Scott and all of the organizers etc are all Trash.

This should've never happened in the first fucking place. This is definitely going to sideline travis for a while now. His crazy care free hedonistic lifestyle, of not caring about others have finally caught up with him.

This is what being irresponsible and immature will get you. Condolences to all the victims who just wanted to have fun at a concert and festival & than get back home safely.

New lawsuit filed:

[quote] On Thursday, San Antonio, Texas-based attorney Thomas J. Henry filed a $2 billion lawsuit against Travis Scott and others on behalf of the victims of the deadly Astroworld Festival tragedy.

[quote] Per a press release from Henry, the lawsuit seeks $2 billion in damages from Scott, Apple Music, Live Nation, NRG Stadium, and Drake, who was a guest performer at the festival as the fatal crowd crush happened. The suit was filed on behalf of 282 victims who hired Henry. In total, it was estimated that over 300 people were treated for injuries at the festival, while 25 people were hospitalized. Eight attendees were pronounced dead at the scene, and two more deaths were reported in the following weeks.

One of investors in Live Nation is JayZ.

Astroworld is an experience. Everyone one of those attendees knew what might happen going in. You skydive, bungee, motocross….you know the terrain. They all knew the potential shit may happen. It did. Now they want to bitch and complain and demand compensation for the very thing they went to test. Bunch of whining cunts.

by Anonymousreply 35November 19, 2021 1:07 AM

by Anonymousreply 36November 19, 2021 1:12 AM

by Anonymousreply 37November 19, 2021 1:13 AM

Kylie sneaked out a few days ago, leaving her pink jet at the airport and taking the family jet instead. She's hiding with family instead of her $35 million compound with 14 bathrooms.

She hasn't posted on Social Media for a week because fans posted vids dumping her makeup in the trash. Stupid girl, she probably regrets not using birth control.

[quote] They're also including Apple Music in the $750 million lawsuit.

I just heard that today while I was watching a LiveStream of the Rittenhouse jury watch where a bunch of lawyers via zoom watch and comment throughout the trial - it's great fun.

One of the lawyers who appeared to comment today was called Lawyer Tom - his handle - and he reps one of the defendant (maybe more don't know) on this case. He said he couldn't say much but was willing to say that they've learned through discovery that Apple was very instrumental in setting up/controlling how the entire concert and/or venue was set up. So they were just added to his lawsuit(s).

BIG pockets.

by Anonymousreply 40November 19, 2021 2:38 AM

^^^ at R40 - I meant Lawyer Tom reps one of the plaintiff(s) not defendant(s).

by Anonymousreply 41November 19, 2021 2:39 AM

R8, That poor kid. He was a cutie. No one should have died like this.

by Anonymousreply 42November 19, 2021 2:43 AM

[quote] Apple was very instrumental in setting up/controlling how the entire concert and/or venue was set up. So they were just added to his lawsuit(s).

It makes me wonder if that's why they only had one stage at the end of the festival, featuring Travis Scott. Per crowd control experts, in music festivals, they generally disperse crowds by having more than one venue playing so people are not packed in one site. Could it be that they wanted a shot of all the people in front of Travis for optics? Also, Live Nation said they would close the show at 9:42 pm when the Fire Department declared it a mass casualty but Travis still kept playing. This is all speculation but I wonder if Apple Music didn't want their live feed to be interrupted. Travis is either lying that he didn't get the message and was under pressure by Apple to continue or they just didn't tell him or underplayed the severity.

by Anonymousreply 43November 19, 2021 3:15 AM

Yup, Apple has big pockets and so does Live Nation. Live Nation is based in the US but has bought global entertainment all over the world. One of its biggest investor is the Saudi government.

[quote] The government of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund has acquired a 5.7 percent stake in Live Nation, the parent company of Ticketmaster, based on Live Nation's share prices as of 28 April 2020, the investment is valued at just shy of $500 million.[33] The investment is passive, and was purchased on the open market. The Saudi Public Investment Fund is now the company's third-largest shareholder, with John Malone's Liberty Media the largest individual shareholder with a 33 percent stake.[34]

Not surprisingly, tickets sales have gone up the roof since LN bought out Ticketmaster. Some US artists like Bruce Springsteen had opposed the merger because of increased ticket sales. The general ticket price for AstroWorld was around $350 and concert fee was an additional $71 which would add up to $420, VIP prices almost $1000 and above.

by Anonymousreply 44November 19, 2021 3:27 AM

What was the 'tragedy'? A bunch of ghettos couldn't control themselves. Sad. Shit happens, move on.

by Anonymousreply 45November 19, 2021 3:36 AM

[quote]How did this no talent fucker become popular anyway? His music is shit.

How do you think? By sucking the right amount of cocks and taking gallons of jizz up the ass.

by Anonymousreply 46November 19, 2021 3:45 AM

the only winners are the lawyers who will rake in the millions.

by Anonymousreply 47November 19, 2021 3:49 AM

Put it this way, R47, if I'd lost someone I loved to the crush, I'd be joining the lawsuits knowing that the lawyers will be the only ones getting rich.

Because it's not important that I get rich, what's important is that Scott and the festival organizers become poor.

by Anonymousreply 48November 19, 2021 4:44 AM

Travis Scott's mother use to work at Apple. So there's a close personal relationship between Travis and the Apple corporation.

He grew up kinda privileged in Houston.

by Anonymousreply 49November 19, 2021 2:31 PM

R38 Kylie will continue to make money. I bet she probably has all kinds if investments outside of her makeup social media influence stuff she does.

It's kinda like Kim, it came to light a few years ago that Kim had a stake in those lights that go around the cell phone and makes your photos look better because of the lighting reflecting on you while you take a selfie. People like the kardashian/Jenner families money and you better believe they have a whole team of wealth managers getting paid to grow their fortunes larger outside of what they make from their branded product businesses.

They probably have a lot of mailbox money coming in constantly. They'll never be broke.

by Anonymousreply 50November 19, 2021 2:37 PM

I guess they couldn't let Kylie's brand be too silent. Mamma Jenner sneaked her in by using the both sisters.

[quote] KYLIE Jenner has been slammed for breaking her weeks-long silence after Astroworld to promote her fashion brand with sister Kendall.

[quote]The clothing line Kendall + Kylie posted a video of the KUWTK stars modeling designs from the new range to celebrate their store opening in the United Arab Emirates.

[quote] These kinds of large gatherings shouldn't take place anymore, it's just a matter of time before something happens and people will wail and cry.

Notice these mass gatherings happen in places like Texas where they don't believe in Covid restrictions and allow guns to be carried in public. No wonder they didn't do anything. The minute people start storming gates, for example, in California, they would have shut the venue down.

Oh, there will be shit-tons of fans who deny he has any responsibility, even if his name is on all the contrats signing off on the security and everything else.

Fan blather won't have much effect on the legal procedings, except to make the local DA research everything very, very thoroughly before filing charges. No DA wants to jump the gun in a high profile case.

[quote] Sad. In these woke times, he’ll get it.

Oh, STFU. He won't. There was a small black kid and half of those kids were Hispanic. Scott is a leper.

The public may have a short memory but 10 people died at his concert. Kris Jenner wants to make the public forget by leaking about Khloe's baby daddy's got a new baby or Kim dating Pete Davidson but it won't erase the stench. Scott encouraged the chaos.
