Aaron Rodgers Cries That He’s the Victim of “Woke Cancel Culture “
by Anonymous | reply 366 | September 11, 2022 1:30 AM |
I hope Aaron is ok.
I understand this virus can be devastating for the unvaccinated elderly.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | November 5, 2021 6:13 PM |
Gosh, if he lied about his immunization status, I wonder what else he might lie about?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | November 5, 2021 6:14 PM |
He seemed so nice on Jeopardy!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | November 5, 2021 6:15 PM |
^ Stephen A. Smith of ESPN basically said just that. Aaron is a liar... and "what else have you been lying about? Because you did it with such ease, such fluidity." Pretty strong allusion to the rumors, I'd say.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | November 5, 2021 6:19 PM |
What does Stinky Shailene have to say? She claimed she was COVID vaccinated to work on her new film, did she lie too?
by Anonymous | reply 5 | November 5, 2021 6:21 PM |
Many apologies in advance, but I don't understand whether he has explained why he is not vaccinated?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | November 5, 2021 6:25 PM |
I really don't think he gets it. Some people are incapable of admitting they were wrong and that their "research" about COVID is a bad joke.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | November 5, 2021 6:25 PM |
He said “everyone one the left” was saying don’t take the vaccine when Trump was in office. That is not the mind of a dispassionate observer. That’s the mind of a MAGA.
MAGA!

r11 agree I was shocked at how dilapidated he looked. Dang.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | November 5, 2021 6:35 PM |
R6 He claims he has an allergy to an ingredient in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, and was wary about the clotting issues with the J&J vaccine (because apparently he's actually a 55 year old woman). And then also claimed he was concerned about the lack of research about the vaccine's impact on reproductive health (which isn't true, a study has shown it has no impact) and he's claiming he wants to be a daddy.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | November 5, 2021 6:37 PM |
Isn't Woodley a total SJW? I wonder what she thinks of this? Oh, right. Silly me, their relationship is just another PR stunt.

He also misquotes MLK
[quote]Rodgers: "The great MLK said, 'You have a moral obligation to object to unjust rules and rules that make no sense.'"
What MLK actually said, in his letter from a Birmingham Jail:
[quote]One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that "an unjust law is no law at all."
King goes on:
[quote]Now, what is the difference between the two? How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law. Any law that uplifts human personality is just. Any law that degrades human personality is unjust. All segregation statutes are unjust because segregation distorts the soul and damages the personality. It gives the segregator a false sense of superiority and the segregated a false sense of inferiority.
So, he lied about the rules element (important because he was whining about NFL rules) and then decided it was appropriate to liken his stance on being an anti-vaxxer to MLK talking about segregation.
And people say he's smart?

R19 this just came in less than 2 hours ago, so it's new info. He hadn't spoken about it. Go throw tantrums on another thread.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | November 5, 2021 6:51 PM |
R20 Exactly. Plus the layering is a classic sign of a liar. If he was allergic, that'd be enough, but needing to add the whole thing about fertility - if McAfee had just shut up and waited, Rodgers would've added a dozen other reasons on top of each other.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | November 5, 2021 6:52 PM |
I can't believe he has the gall to try to insert MLK into this. He is just throwing Hail Marys (every football and gay pun intended) everywhere. He's also lying again. I don't recall anyone on the left screaming not to take the vaccine for the month Dump was still in office and it was being administered. That's just another lie.

[quote]"What about my body, my choice? What about making the best decision for my circumstance?"
[quote]"This idea that it's the pandemic of the unvaccinated, it's a just a total lie" "If the vaccine is so great, then how come people are still getting covid and spreading covid?"
[quote]HE JUST SAID HE'S BEEN TAKING IVERMECTIN
[quote]Rodgers is claiming that in 2020 the left was anti-vaccine while Trump was president, and then suddenly after Biden's election, "everything flips"
[quote]Rodgers keeps emphasizing that he probably caught covid from someone who was vaccinated. This seems very important to him
[quote]There's a lot to natural immunity, and natural immunity has not been part of the conversation"

by Anonymous | reply 74 | November 5, 2021 9:30 PM |
[quote]Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback, will miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after testing positive for the coronavirus. His absence—required under NFL rules for unvaccinated players who test positive—is a big deal in itself; the Packers have a 7–1 record and are one of the best teams in pro football. But the stunning news of Rodgers’s COVID-19 diagnosis has been compounded by what else it revealed: Rodgers had lied about his vaccination status, and his team had likely provided cover for his deception. Both the Packers and the league itself have stood idly by as the reigning NFL MVP apparently violated safety protocols and jeopardized the health of others around him.
[quote]Throughout the season, Rodgers has been seen maskless many times at indoor press conferences. Per the NFL’s coronavirus protocols, unvaccinated players are required to wear masks at all times inside club facilities, submit to daily PCR testing, and avoid being within six feet of other unvaccinated players while traveling or eating meals.
[quote]Until now, the NFL had successfully positioned itself as a leader on COVID safety. It instituted strict COVID-19 protocols with the assent of the players’ union. But Rodgers has put the NFL’s credibility in jeopardy. The situation raises the obvious question of whether other teams have been covering for unvaccinated key players. And it serves as another reminder that characterizing vaccination—or vaccine refusal—as merely a personal choice ignores the significant impact it has on others.
[quote]When a reporter asked him in August whether he was vaccinated, Rodgers responded, “Yeah, I’ve been immunized.”
[quote]His subsequent comments about the issue were noncommittal. “You know, there’s a lot of conversation around it, around the league, and a lot of guys who have made statements and not made statements, owners who have made statements,” Rodgers said then. “There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated. I think it’s a personal decision. I’m not going to judge those guys.
[…]
[quote]Rodgers’s use of the word immunized instead of vaccinated should have raised more eyebrows than it did at the time. In retrospect, his disingenuous comments hint at a specific kind of self-centeredness; he seemed to believe he was smarter than everyone else in the room.
[…]
[quote]Had Rodgers loudly complained about vaccination questions, at worst he would have looked silly. Now he looks selfish as well as dishonest for expecting others to indulge him. The NFL and the Packers can’t say they were unaware that Rodgers was endangering other people and skirting the rules. Numerous media reports indicate that both the Packers and the NFL knew that Rodgers wasn’t vaccinated, because he had petitioned the NFL to have a homeopathic treatment he’d received recognized as a formal vaccine. (That request was denied.) Before you protest that maybe NFL officials didn’t see Rodgers conducting press conferences unmasked, remember that the league scrutinizes its players intensely. It can spot when a player places a personal message on a headband worn during a game.
[quote]The Packers sure appear complicit in helping their star avoid any questions. By allowing him to go unmasked before the media, the team fed assumptions that Rodgers was vaccinated. If that wasn’t the case, then why did the team’s unvaccinated players—but not Rodgers—have to conduct their media interviews via Zoom?
[…]
[quote]In an interview on The Pat McAfee Show today, Rodgers insisted that he is now “in the crosshairs of the woke mob” and wanted to defend himself “before my final nail gets put in my cancel-culture casket.” Indeed, Rodgers marked every box on the right-wing bingo card. He insisted that he is a “critical thinker.” He referenced Martin Luther King Jr. out of context. And he said he had taken ivermectin after consulting the popular libertarian-leaning podcaster Joe Rogan, who has said he took the veterinary deworming drug after contracting the coronavirus.

by Anonymous | reply 81 | November 6, 2021 10:30 PM |
[quote]Earlier this week, Rodgers tested positive for COVID, so he’ll miss this Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Cue a firestorm amid speculation that he lied about his vaccination status (he’s since revealed himself as a skeptic who reportedly questions fertility implications of the shot), and Rodgers followed up his positive test by going on a rant about the “woke mob” and “cancel culture casket.” He also revealed that he’s taken COVID advice from his friend and fellow Ivermectin proponent (!) Joe Rogan.
[quote]Boy, this is a mess for the NFL. It could be an even bigger mess if Rodgers had somehow become the Jeopardy! host. Fans of the show are both aghast over the near-miss and breathing a sigh of relief.

""This idea that it's the pandemic of the unvaccinated, it's a just a total lie""
Actually it has been exactly that, since the general public started getting vaccinated.
I'm an ICU nurse, and I do some shifts at a desk job, where I get to see what's going on in other local ICUs. What's going on is that about 95% of the COVID patients admitted during the last six months are unvaccinated, and about 99% of those who are sick enough to need ventilators or who die are unvaccinated. The few exceptions are people who are severely immunocompromised by cancer, or who are on immunosuppresant therapy because of an organ transplant or something.
Vaccinations save lives. REMEMBER, THERE IS NO CURE, THERE IS ONLY PREVENTION! CLEAN YOUR HANDS, COVER YOUR FACE, AVOID CROWDS, AND FOR FUCK'S SAKE GET VACCINATED.

We don’t know that to be true. As someone said in either this thread or one of the others, the episodes he hosted aired in April, which means they were probably taped in March. In March not everyone was eligible for the vaccine and given his age and presumed good health, he wouldn’t have been eligible.

Joe Rogan should be 1 hour long. The reason it’s 4 hours is so he can repeat a selected mantra anywhere from 20-30 times to up to 100 times in any one show. It’s absolutely propaganda. They repeat fake and misleading statements and statistics over and over and try to bully the guests into accepting the selected mantra. They are very slick and sly about it though. Never direct.
That show is some kind of operation and the more you listen and notice the patterns, it’s a show designed to convince people of stuff. It’s a persuasion show that uses some of the Rush Limbaugh tricks but much more stealthily.
It’s brainwashing these “masculine” wannabes into the same stream as Fox News. And the listeners don’t even realize it’s happened until it’s been too long. They are sucked in. It flips you. It’s very effective and seductive to young men who crave some sort of direction and wisdom.

by Anonymous | reply 158 | November 7, 2021 5:30 PM |
They use these issues like the vaccine etc but it’s not about the vaccines. Notice they use scare tactics like government control and boogie man is FORCING you to hurt your children and there is an evil that is out to get you. “Don’t you see it. It’s right there. Can’t you see? Keep looking. Do you see the evil now”?
Watch for these patterns. They are designed to try to get you to not trust yourself or your senses. “Only trust me. I will guide you. You don’t need your family or friends or your doctor. I will lead you. I will guide you. Look at these statistics here not the CDC. I will protect you from this evil”
He does a vey sophisticated version of this to his guests but really it’s for his viewers.

^For example they use people with compromised immunity who don't practice covid safety measures with the same control group that isn't required to test. And on top of that, the studies themselves are quite limited when you're supposed to be factoring in national data.
by Anonymous | reply 164 | November 7, 2021 5:35 PM |
Here is another example of the unethical persuading techniques he uses:
Go back and listen to how he responds to his guests statements. He will talk over them or just keep repeating his opposition and then the mantra. He does not acknowledge that the speaker is making a counter point in a real way.
He pretends to acknowledge it but doesn’t address it, he just finds a way back to repeating the mantra and depriving the guest of the genuine opposing viewpoint.
He is brainwashing his listeners slowly over time. He goes back and forth from playing the educated, sharp, intelligent and knowledgeable person to being just an average Joe, one of the guys who just goes with his gut. Those are two distinct and inverse personalities and could not genuinely exist in the same person.
He’s running a highly profitable grift and don’t pretend he is any different that Rush Limbaugh if only more slick about it.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | November 7, 2021 5:37 PM |
[quote] Go back and listen to how he responds to his guests statements. He will talk over them or just keep repeating his opposition and then the mantra. He does not acknowledge that the speaker is making a counter point in a real way.
You would have a point if he were a host on a cable news show where it's designed to cut off the guests after 6 minutes. He talks to them for 4 fucking hours. How stupid does that guest have to be to not come up with an effective counterpoint during that length of time?
by Anonymous | reply 166 | November 7, 2021 5:39 PM |
They try to but he doesn’t really put forth both sides. He is very dishonest on his show and he obscures the counter points with red herrings, false equivalency, you name it.

by Anonymous | reply 167 | November 7, 2021 5:48 PM |
R146, you are so full of shit. What people were saying was that they wanted the vaccines fully tested when Trump was trying to push them through before the election for his own benefit before any of the studies were complete. That's when the more intelligent people in the US (aka the Left) said they weren't going to take any of Trump's "Warp Speed" election-timed untested vaccines. As soon as the studies were completed in mid-December that showed the vaccines were safe and effective, the intelligent people, starting with the nurses and doctors, and then moving onto the elderly in early January started getting vaccinated en masse.
Really, the idiocy of trying to rewrite factual history is a special gift the Right embraces. Morons, the lot of them.

The Kapernick situtation is not even remotely similar to Rodgers. Firstly, Colin brought all the attention upon himself and has since used to commercialize his own brand. Rodgers was outed. Secondly, Colin has used his public position to endorse slave labor in China, compare draft players to slaves, and to not vote (he is the epitome of someone who doesn't practice what he preaches). At least Rodgers was taking necessary safety protocols including testing. It's very likely that mandates will fail but that those who are unvaccinated or who are experiencing symptoms will be required to take frequent tests.

I don't presume to know what Aaron Rodger's politics are but my hunch is that the issue of vaccine mandates isn't at politicized as partisans make it seem. If that's your justification, then why presume that Rodger's issues surrounding vaccination are less legitimate. Do you know his history, family, genetic predispositions, or anything about his health that he hasn't shared publicly? R211, this is one instance where percentages don't matter. The huge number of unvaccinated white assholes is the problem here.
by Anonymous | reply 212 | November 7, 2021 10:46 PM |
"...why presume that Rodger's issues surrounding vaccination are less legitimate."
Rodgers works in a field where he's in dangerously close contact with a lot of other people, he doesn't just spend the big game hudding and dogpiling with other men, he spends his workdays practicing in close contact with his teammates. Therefore, it's up to each and every damn football player to do whatever they can to prevent transmission of a deadly disease during a fucking pandemic, and since they can't avoid close contact with each other that means they're doubly obligated to clean their hands, cover their faces, avoid crowds, and to get vaccinated. It's the decent thing to do, it's what a good team player needs to do, it's what a winner had to do to get to the Super Bowl!
I can't imagine how angry Rodgers' teammates must be with them, he's been careless and has exposed them all, apparently out of foolishness and ego. If I knew a good bookie, I'd bet money that he gets a career-ending injury in practice.

by Anonymous | reply 217 | November 7, 2021 10:51 PM |
R215, you don't understand math. Sheer numbers of vaccinated are what matter to stop a pandemic. Thirty percent of the white population of this country being unvaccinated is much more dangerous than 50% of the black popultion being unvaccinated because. Even if 0% of the black population was unvaccinated, that would be better than 30% of the white population not being vaccinated because of, again, the sheer numbers.
Not sure if you aren't understanding numbers or aren't understanding how viruses spread but maybe you're just stupid all around.

As regards an allergy to a vaccine ingredient, the nano lipid portion made of PEG could be his problem. I'm in jo way defending his talking points, both right-wingnut, or Anti-vax, but early on it had been mentioned that this ingredient could very well be responsible for anaphylaxis.
People become aware of this be ause PEG is used in medications, as well as popular colon prep cleanses for colonoscopy, and sigmoidoscopy.
It was commonly believed believed by many in the medical industry that PEG was strictly an inert agent, completely incapable of reactions, however we have since learnt that is not the case, and that identifiable IgM and IgG antibodies are expressed in some healthy individuals who have never previously received PEGylated biotherapeutic products, or medicines, and that these antibodies can be both persistent, and/or transitory.
Some have reactions to topical hygeine products, gel deodorants, lotions, and salves which contain PEG as a base.
Rodgers is still a selfish, entitled, liar even if he has a known PEG allergy.

Ah, no, actually. The vaccine presents your immune system a near-replica of the spike protein from the SARS-CoV-2 virus (the virus that causes the COVID-19 disease). Your immune system then develops antibodies of varies sorts as well as memory T-cells that will enable it the neutralize the REAL virus should you ever become infected.

There are many varied perspectives on the vaccine even from those who are pro vaccine. Before last week, you couldn't even say that natural immunity offers similar protection without getting censored even though the rest of the world treats those who are recovered as being immune. People are interested in learning more about alternative treatments only because the scientific data is indicating that the vaccine efficacy is less than what we thought.
To me it's insane that we can treat high risk individuals (including those with waning immunity from the vaccine) with effective treatments, yet we are wasting our resources on vaccinating children, those who have recently recovered, and those who say they are unwilling to get vaccinated under any circumstances. How does that make any sense?

Most people go with what appeals to their bias — or most fucks with the people or groups they don’t like. It becomes almost like a team allegiance rather than determining what is true.

Joe Rogan? Left? This is literally the most stupid take I've seen on DL for a while. And that's saying a lot.
Joe Rogan pretended to support Bernie in the primaries (obviously for disruptive purposes knowing full well Bernie would lose against Trump) and when he lost, he went back to shilling for Trump. No left person can make such a jump. This is a guy that was pushing Obamagate on his podcast. Fuck him!

Joe Rogan is a jack ass.

And that's the problem. Especially when he's giving medical advice.

Cases going up in California. Does this mean we'll revise our Covid strategy? I doubt it.

Mark Hamill from Star Wars is not of fan of his either (which is hilarious because QAaron is a Star Wars fan).

Question: Assuming the story related in the link at R334 is true, and there were multiple witnesses to the incident, what would be the need to keep the athlete's name secret? Why did this need to be a "blind gossip" item? The fact that it is presented that way, rather than the athlete being named, only calls into question the veracity of the story. At least, that's how I see it. Thoughts?
by Anonymous | reply 335 | November 13, 2021 3:50 PM |
R335, they deliberately make it a BI so they can use it on their BLIND Gossip site. Same thing with Enty. He would take some small news item about a celeb and turn it into a BI so he had more fodder for his site. It's a game.

It's also a form of entertainment, like this web site, or social media sites. I like the site, like I do this one, and I'm not ashamed of that.

I think the guy is a complete douchebag, but it really is ridiculous to use that autograph story to shit on him. These days, most of the aggressive autograph seekers are those dirtbags who only want to sell them. They're obnoxious as hell.

Has anyone asked Aaron why, if his beliefs on masks and vaccines is so strong, he consented to wear a mask all over Disney when promoting their parks earlier this year? He and Shailene wore their masks for pictures and interviews. He can't say he was wearing a mask because everyone was waiting to get the vaccine... because he never got the vaccine.
He wore the mask because he had to wear the mask to get paid. And I'll bet he got paid a lot more than the 14 grand he was fined by the NFL.
This guys is such a nothing of an empty shell.

They're smug, full of themselves and dishonest people. They're not worth the time of day.

I think that is the silver lining of COVID—it pulled back the curtain on how truly stupid and/or awful many famous people are. I think we all kind of knew it, but hopefully long term people stop trusting/looking to the opinion of awful people who are not capable of logic or ethical guidance.

He is right about the fronts having been reversed. Trump was made fun of when he said it wouldn't be long before a vaccine would be available when he ran last and Biden was very hesitant to trust a vaccine supplied under Trump (which I find criminal). I attached the coverage by Reuters from 2020.
To all who says that it serves him right because he's an antivaxer or a Trumper: No worry, they will come for you too if you say something that's not canon, whether it be true or false. I am really left leaning, but with my views (women are women; trans women are trans women, nuclear is the only thing that will save us from global warming) I am now politically homeless in where I live. Cancel culture and the fallout of identity politics will cost us dearly and is going to reshape the political landscape profoundly.

R351 Most of us were also hesitant to trust vaccines supplied under Trump--the incompetent, lying, cheating president.
So you are not left-leaning anything, you twat.

I agree r352. Dump didn’t say the vaccine would be available because of info he had, he said it as a lie because he knew that Covid was going to kill his re-election chances. The proof is that Pfizer announced its vaccine one week after the election, to the surprise of Dump, and even though Dump was still president, pretty much every enlightened person saw it as a great sign. The reason is it was clear Dump had no idea and wasn’t involved in its development. That made me trust it.

It's so fucking hilarious when people try to "credit" Trump with the vaccine or act shocked that anyone with above a two digit IQ would not want to listen to that sack of shit. A fucking low life his whole life and you're shocked we would hesitate listening to someone who spoke of bleach? Who spoke of this virus being gone by spring or whenever the hell he said so? The fucker is a lifelong scumbag as a businessman, family man and politician. He encompasses every singly horrible characteristic a human coul dhave and nothing good. He is a swine.
BTW, who the fuck listens solely to the politicians anyway? I wouldn't simply believe Biden. It's the SCIENCE/MEDICAL community to whom we listen when it comes to vaccines and protection - the ones Trump turned into enemies.

Well, Trump couldn't be trusted with the PPE supply. Remember when he and Kushner seized a large supply the state of Maryland had? The state's Republican governor ordered the the state's National Guard to send a security contingent to guard the equipment henceforth. AFAIK, no one was able to determine where the stolen goods went.
by Anonymous | reply 361 | November 15, 2021 7:19 PM |
Biden's remarks were incredibly stupid, but they did come before any credible vaccine had been announced.
That said, the right doesn't get to have it both ways, both supporting anti-vaxxers and claiming vaccines as a Trump achievement. And also, recall, the reason the Trump admin put so much into vaccines is because - like the Tories in Britain - they fucked up everything else so badly.
