I'm on my second viewing of Offspring on Netflix. I almost didn't watch it because I'd never gotten into an Australian show before. I'm so glad I did. It's great.

by Anonymousreply 16October 30, 2021 9:53 PM

Netflix just added Seinfeld. I never saw it when it was on originally so I started with Season 1, Episode 1. It's hysterical. And Julia Louis-Dreyfus is such a great sitcom actress. I downloaded The New Adventures of Old Christine to watch when I'm through with Seinfeld.

by Anonymousreply 24October 30, 2021 11:16 PM

I'm watching [italic]Peaky Blinders[/italic] a second time, currently on season 2, episode 2, Polly's birthday. Who thought it was a good idea to give Arthur cocaine?

The Great British Bake-Off/Baking Show. And then I watched "An Extra Slice" online.

HSN about a week ago. The Beekman Boys were selling their goat milk products.

I work 2nd shift and usually too tired to watch TV when I get home. Just throw down some cat food and crawl into bed.

R24, The New Adventures Of Old Christine is one of my favorite sitcoms. My (very old) parents used to give me grief when I told them I watched it, but right before my dad died a few years back, he began to watch it (it was on all day on one channel or another) and it was one of the few laughs he had being very sick and house-ridden. He apologized for doubting my taste. My mom and I still quote lines to each other when we talk on the phone.

I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as my family has! JLD is a treasure.

Two episodes of Doogie Howser, M.D. I saw that it's leaving Hulu tomorrow and thought I'd give it a shot. The pilot had a much more sex-ish moment between 16-year-old Doogie and Nurse Curly than would probably make it past today's censors. I can't wait until the end of this era's prissitude.

by Anonymousreply 35October 31, 2021 1:06 AM

Watching the Penn State -- Ohio State game right now.

But then again, I'm a lesbian.

Kin (AMC+) Irish family crime drama with Charlie Cox and Aiden Gillen. It's really uneven but the endings of each episode leave you wanting for the next one.

by Anonymousreply 42October 31, 2021 9:42 AM

I almost never turn the TV now. Everything is on an app. That being said Blue Bloods. It's getting old though.
Netflix just added Seinfeld. I never saw it when it was on originally so I started with Season 1, Episode 1. It's hysterical.

The first four seasons or so are some brilliant television. I was in college studying writing, and i was sometimes astonished by how all the elements of an episode would converge by the end.
The Simpsons

Many think the show was good through the tenth season, but i have 1-15 n DVD (well before D+ made that unnecessary), and i think the show was outstanding for that long. I haven’t watched in at least a dozen years, but when it was ‘on’ the Simpsons was some of the best television Americans ever produced.

Watching the first episodes of “ER” on cable.

by Anonymousreply 54November 2, 2021 3:41 PM

On Monday, I watched Sunday night's episode of "The Rookie." During Pandemica, I started watching some network series I never bothered with before. It's not a particularly well-written program, but I enjoy the some of the characters as well as their struggles.

I've also started watching "Dopesick" on Hulu, about the Sackler family and the opioid crisis they brought upon us.

by Anonymousreply 67November 26, 2021 4:57 PM

R64 that is likwly the absolute worst movie they ever riffed and I have watched nearly all MST epis. I am sorry but Manos the hands of fate is a materpuece in comparison.

by Anonymousreply 68November 26, 2021 5:39 PM

I'm watching The Stand. It's passable entertainment, but it's not really as great a series as it should have been considering that the book was excellent. The acting is very uneven. Some actors are very good, some are on the level of soap opera acting, some just chew the scenery mugging for the camera.

by Anonymousreply 69November 26, 2021 5:52 PM

R68 - God was it bad!

But at least I made it through the entire episode - something I couldn't say re the last two Gamera films they did.

A big plus: the short preceeding Batwoman, "Cheating."

by Anonymousreply 70November 26, 2021 6:03 PM

I finished Netflix’s Maid on Wednesday and started season 3 of Succession today.. Watching the two sides of America they depict shines a light on the decline of this country.

by Anonymousreply 73November 26, 2021 8:49 PM

R70, yeah probably o ne of the best shorts, so there's that, But the film is hard to sit through no matter how good th riffing, My favorite is a review from imdb: "Watching this film is like drinking an entire bottle of cough syrup and then listening to a Ventures album while paging through an old copy of 'Argosy' men's adventure magazine. It'll make you vaguely queasy, vaguely horny, and somewhat ashamed of yourself." /

by Anonymousreply 74November 26, 2021 9:34 PM
