I wear eyeglasses. I clean my eyeglasses at least once a day. I wash behind my ears in the shower once a day. Yet this spot becomes terribly smelly every day! What can I do to fix this problem?
Embarrassing problem! Help me DL!

R2 behind my ears
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 29, 2021 5:25 PM |
R3 noooo I can’t touch my eyes gross. I’ve never been able to wear contacts.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 29, 2021 5:25 PM |
We believe you have more than that one spot that is smelly.
Or however one wishes to describe the stink.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 29, 2021 5:27 PM |
[quote]R5 (too lazy to self-ID as OP): R2 behind my ears (sic)
OP, your ass is behind your ears.
In fact, it sags and drags a considerable distance behind your ears.

"It's like your belly button, it gets sticky and smells "
You too? I feel so much better now
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 29, 2021 5:32 PM |
Wipe behind your ears with a baby wipe a few times a day. Same with the part of the frame that touches that area. Easy peasy.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 29, 2021 5:40 PM |
WFF is oozing behind your ears that requires constant sopping up?
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 29, 2021 5:42 PM |
Gross
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 29, 2021 5:44 PM |
Just stop storing you glasses in your pussy, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 29, 2021 5:49 PM |
I've never heard of a smelly spot behind the ears..I mean, where exactly?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 29, 2021 5:52 PM |
Motorboat a large breasted woman or Louie Anderson twice a day.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 29, 2021 5:56 PM |
Ear cancer. So sorry.
Can I have you . . . Never mind.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 29, 2021 5:57 PM |
It's sebum. I get that too. Like nose grease.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 29, 2021 6:00 PM |
NOTICE: When your Top locks your ankles behind your ears, REMOVE your eyeglasses to reduce the number of friction points.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 29, 2021 6:03 PM |
OP I also get strings in my mouth after brushing my teeth.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 29, 2021 6:06 PM |
Baby wipes as someone said above, or cotton wool with witch hazel or a (cheapish) toner that women use after cleansing. Something mildly astringent.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 29, 2021 6:16 PM |
Do people complain? Are you able to smell behind your own ear, OP? If so there may be other issues.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 29, 2021 7:04 PM |
R21 it makes my pillow smell really bad only a few days after washing
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 29, 2021 7:06 PM |
OP,
The stuff on your pillow--is it pus? Is it clear liquid?
Does it ever go away? When did this start?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 29, 2021 7:07 PM |
Do a mid-day clean behind your ears.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 29, 2021 7:08 PM |
R23 I started noticing it a few months ago but I know something funky has been going on with my sinuses for like 4 years.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 29, 2021 7:09 PM |
OP,
Also, is it in exactly the same spot behind both ears?
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 29, 2021 7:09 PM |
Hydrogen peroxide.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 29, 2021 7:10 PM |
Yes r26 I assume caused by my glasses
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 29, 2021 7:11 PM |
What is the consistency of the liquid? It thick, thin? Clean, cloudy? Pus?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 29, 2021 7:11 PM |
What material is your glasses made out of? And did you just get them a few months ago?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 29, 2021 7:12 PM |
R29 there isn’t liquid
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 29, 2021 7:13 PM |
Maybe it's a skin allergy to the glasses material.
Do you have another set of glasses you can wear for a week or two to see what happens?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 29, 2021 7:14 PM |
Does it smell like BO? Some plastic stinks like BO when it gets old.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 29, 2021 7:16 PM |
[quote]I started noticing it a few months ago but I know something funky has been going on with my sinuses for like 4 years.
Are you sure the smell isn't caused by stuff oozing out of your ears? Maybe you have a chronic sinus infection that has developped into an ear infection?
by Anonymous | reply 34 | October 29, 2021 7:16 PM |
Apparently a not-so-small number of people have a fistula near or behind one or both ears. Fistulas can become infected, and I imagine the smell would be pretty nasty.
In any case I'd have that checked out, OP. Smelling behind the ear is definitely NOT normal. I wear glasses and have very thick hair covering my ears, and I've never noticed a bad smell in that area.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 29, 2021 7:35 PM |
It's fungi infection. The ears can be cleaned twice daily with EYE WASH with boric acid, or MOUTH WASH with chlorhexidine, or BETADINE if you don't mind the coloring. The eyeglasses can too, once a day.
Apply clotrimazole or econazole twice daily behind the ears.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 29, 2021 7:44 PM |
My mother has a little tiny one* above her ear--but it produces a little liquid, and she's had it her entire life.
OP is reporting two of these spots that just appeared a few months ago, simultaneously, and produce no fluid or pus.
*fistula

IIRC, has I kid watching old movies or movie shorts like The Little Rascals, mothers berating their child "to make sure wash behind your ears" or something like that. And I took it to heart and began to wash behind years as a child and continue to this day.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 29, 2021 7:53 PM |
OP maybe it’s an allergic reaction to the glasses or it could be that the area is getting sweaty from the glasses and that causes the funky smell.
If you have health insurance go see the Dr.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 29, 2021 7:55 PM |
Are there no other symptoms besides the smell, like pain or itching?
Whatever it is, it seems a bit weird that both ears are affected simultaneously.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 29, 2021 7:55 PM |
... unless it really is an allergic reactions, but in that case you'd definitely expect there to be other symptoms
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 29, 2021 7:57 PM |
[quote] mothers berating their child "to make sure wash behind your ears" or something like that.
This comes from a time when people didn't bathe or shower for long stretches of time, and just washed hands, face, and neck every day.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 29, 2021 7:59 PM |
Behind the ears is a problem area. My friend started getting huge pimples (more than a pimple, maybe a fistula) behind his ear. He would puncture, rinse and repeat. He finally did go to a doctor. It's really horrible-looking, those fistulas.
I actually had problems (behind ears) from wearing masks (itchy, dry).
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 29, 2021 8:00 PM |
(You can't puncture a fistula.)
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 29, 2021 8:02 PM |
Maybe it was an abscess, then.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 29, 2021 8:04 PM |
It's one of the sources of dreaded Old People Smell.
Try as you might, you'll be fighting a losing battle against OPS.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 29, 2021 8:11 PM |
I get behind the ear funk if I don't shower for a few days. Wash behind your ears daily and dry them either with a towel or hair dryer before putting glasses on. Clean the ear part of your glasses with rubbing alcohol at least once a day.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 29, 2021 8:15 PM |
I am freaked out now ! How many people took their glasses off and smelled them ? LOL !
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 29, 2021 8:40 PM |
OP is Mary Katherine Gallagher.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 29, 2021 9:01 PM |
OP, I am told cyanide works but only in small doses.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 29, 2021 9:09 PM |
I was just talking about this with someone. She used rubbing alcohol behind the ears after every shower. I use witch hazel. After you thoroughly dry your ears off of course.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 29, 2021 9:27 PM |
There’s always Lume. You can put that shit on any part of your body. It neutralizes bacteria for 72 hours.

Have you, by any chance...
been putting your pillow between your legs when you sleep?
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 29, 2021 9:46 PM |
Just hang out with people smell worse than you! Problem solved.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 29, 2021 10:18 PM |
Apply deodorant behind your ears.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 29, 2021 10:19 PM |
LOL
My dad would try to make us as little kids smell his fingers after he rubbed them behind his ears because they smelled like swiss cheese. It was a joke and he'd chase us around with his stinky finger.
We never smelled it.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 29, 2021 10:30 PM |
God, that sounds awful, R58. Did he also tell you to pull his finger and then fart?
by Anonymous | reply 59 | October 29, 2021 10:33 PM |
No, that was his brother.
It was a joke like his Frankenstein walk.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | October 29, 2021 10:38 PM |
Put a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and distilled water in a plastic bottle. Put some of that solution on a washcloth and scrub behind your ears daily. Make sure you dry them well.
One time I put my finger behind my ear and my dog sniffed it and went nuts for the smell. Gross!
by Anonymous | reply 61 | October 29, 2021 10:39 PM |
Lol, R61, when your dog (or cat) loves your stink you know it must be bad, really bad by human standards. Canines and felines are such pervs when it comes to bodily odors.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | October 30, 2021 1:32 AM |
You seem stupid as fuck, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | October 30, 2021 1:39 AM |
Gasoline, though rising in price, will take care of it once and for all.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | October 30, 2021 1:45 AM |
This thread is literally making me nauseated.

[quote]I get behind the ear funk if I don't shower for a few days.
For a few days?? Why wouldn't you? Particularly if you get "funk" behind the ears. My God. That's disgusting.
Wasn't there another thread about someone who got a smell behind his ears? How filthy are you guys?
by Anonymous | reply 67 | October 30, 2021 2:27 AM |
Ask a dermatologist for a prescription anti-perspirant to apply behind your ears.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | October 30, 2021 3:39 AM |
Drink 10 liters of gasoline then light a match and swallow it.
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 30, 2021 3:43 AM |
You're an alcoholic , OP. and your liver is trying to get rid of fat in your blood. It does that through pushing fat out through your pores on your face, head and neck. Greasy, wet, ear canals? You need to stop alcohol consumption, bud!
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 30, 2021 4:10 AM |
Cut off your freaking ears. Then gouge out your eyeballs. Then buy yourself a pretty cane.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | October 30, 2021 4:15 AM |
Lose 'em! Who needs extra baggage these days when less is more, OP??!
by Anonymous | reply 72 | October 30, 2021 4:18 AM |
R70 I stopped alcohol consumption 2 years ago. I had elevated liver enzymes in my blood then. My blood test this year showed my liver enzymes are now normal. I feel very blessed that I didn’t do as much permanent damage to my body as I originally thought in my 10 years of heavy drinking.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | October 30, 2021 4:27 AM |
I think it’s sebum/oil, I have the same prob, it smells like vinegar behind both ears, & I only wear reading glasses & shower daily.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | October 30, 2021 4:29 AM |
It's booze, sweetie. It's booze. You can do this. Just commit.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | October 30, 2021 4:32 AM |
Smells like cheese? Yeast infection or dermatitis likely.
Here's more info...

🙄 Your glasses are NOT the problem.
