The director of the gay movie Moffie will film Mescal & O'Connor crossing uncut swords in a WWI romance called The History of Sound next year

Good actor, but I find Josh O'Connor very, very homely.

Wow, interesting pairing. Josh is always incredible, he's a really good actor and is clearly well trained. We'll see how Paul does outside of Normal People.

I don't blame anybody for not being attracted to Josh because he's a weird looking guy and I didn't get it at first either, but now after seeing him in some stuff I get it, and he is incredibly sexy to me now

I just tried to read the story, but did not like the style of writing. Hope the movie is better; Moffie was very good.

But why are two Brits playing American characters?

Paul Mescal is Irish.

Still.

There better be lots of full frontal - I hope it's why these actors were hired. No anti-dong contracts like CMBYN!

r4 here: so I read the story the whole way through last night and have been ruminating on it. Still not a huge fan of the occasionally flowery prose, but the basic framework should provide enough for a feature-length script to elaborate upon it, and there are many cinematic moments I can envision (the men naked under a New England waterfall should be lovely).

But there were a couple of story beats that gave me pause: the encounter with the man and the dog put one of the men in a particularly uncomfortable light (or was that supposed to be an example of his PTSD from The Great War?), and the climax wasn't clear to me -- was that a suicide?

I'm sure the two actors will be fine, but there is still a part of me that wishes two American actors were starring in this uniquely American tale.

Modern-day American actors can't play World War I characters, they will ruin the movie. Besides they probably won't get naked if the roles thus require of them.

There is plenty of Josh dick in Mothering Sunday. No other reason to watch an otherwise tepid film.

R3 take it he's the one on the right? He's hot, very sexy

by Anonymousreply 11December 27, 2021 9:13 AM

Yeah what a homely dog. How does he get any work. Barf.

Josh is a type some of us find 😍 gorgeous. Given his overall personality I can't imagine he's not at least bi.
