Whenever I see that someone died in Woodland Hills I assume they were at that rest home for old actors out there. That place must be huge.

Klugman was the first Herbie in the original Broadway production of Gypsy with Ethel Merman, the part Karl Malden plays in the film. He had a long and distinguished career in film, theater and on TV. Late in life he had a bad bout of throat cancer and his doctors told him he would never speak again. He wasn't having it and with hard work and studying with voice specialists recovered enough vocal ability to continue his career.
