Words you either always misspell or go how do you...

Google is my friend...especially when posting on here...though I still slip up.

I'm tripped up sometimes by the double letter question (does it, or does it not have?) but if I just type it out or think for a split second and then I've got it. It's also easy to think of how it would be spelled in Spanish (with its very sparing use of double letters) and then, from the visual exercise, it's evident what it would be in English.

[quote]or go how do you...

SAY, not go.

And I never misspell. Ever.

Strength....for some reason I always mix up the last 2 letters and write "strenght"

Address...I'm better now but I used to always get confused how many d's and s's went in it.

Beautifull....sometimes get confused if its "y" or "i" and how many l's.

R7 "Beautifull....sometimes get confused if its "y" or "i" and how many l's." We can see that you are still confused.

by Anonymousreply 14October 22, 2021 3:03 PM

also, awkward. I've since learned but I would always just spell it like it sounds, "akward" and never realized there was another w because its not really prounounced.

by Anonymousreply 15October 22, 2021 3:09 PM

"Disastrous".

I cannot for the life of me understand why it isn't "Disasterous".

by Anonymousreply 16October 22, 2021 3:22 PM

Not a spelling issue, but I always have to google discreet vs. discrete.

by Anonymousreply 17October 22, 2021 3:45 PM

There's a strange tick when I type. I know how to spell it, but my hand hits them incorrectly most of the time. Simple words like mixing up "ua" in "restaurant" and even more bizarre, I type "how", when I mean "who". There are other words, but these two I always get wrong.

Eligibility.

Flibbertigibbet.

I will never spell "temperamentally" correctly without spell check.

Why is there that completely superfluous 'a' in there? It's TEMPERMENTALLY. That's how everyone says it. That's what makes sense. The "correct" spelling is just WRONG.

by Anonymousreply 21July 24, 2022 1:27 AM

"Mischiveous," because that's how I still (mis)pronounce it.

Of course, it's spelled "mischievous," and its pronunciation reflects that.
