In-N-Out says Fuck You to Vaccine mandates. Gets shut down by SF.
“As a Company, In-N-Out strongly believes in the highest form of customer service and to us that means serving all Customers who visit us and making all Customers, vaccinated or not, feel welcome. We refuse to become the vaccination police for any government.
We fiercely disagree with any government dictate that forces a private company to discriminate against customers who choose to patronize their business. This is clear governmental overreach and is intrusive, improper, & offensive.”

Fuck San Francisco and their stupid fucking mandate.

In-N-Out releases statement. “We will not be the vaccination police. It unreasonable, invasive, and unsafe to force our restaurant Associates to segregate Customers into those who may be served and those who may not, whether based on the documentation they carry, or any other reason. We will not be checking papers. This isn’t Nazi Germany, this is In-N-Out where everyone, vaccinated or not, is welcome. We adhere to our principles of John 3:10 printed on every cup. We don’t require vaccinations of our Associates so we extend that courtesy to our Customers.“

It’s really really simple. The businesses that deserve federal support should gross $1,000,000 or less annually. Once we assist everyone single business, then perhaps expand it to small businesses who gross under $2mil. That’s it. That is who needs the help, any business over $3 - 5 million must be barred from federal assistance.

They do use fresh potatoes in the fries. I was in an LA-area store and saw someone pushing potatoes through that cutter. However, why they serve it up flaccid is another story. I've never ordered "well-done"; maybe that's good.
The burger, "secret menu" "animal style" is described as a bunch of condiments (mustard / ketchup) fried into the patties. You shouldn't have to order off a secret menu and slather the patty with condiments in order to get a burger that is tasty.
If I don't have to support a company that profits Christian fundamentalists / evangelicals, then I won't.

r109, IN and OUT is a fast food but really slow joint. I don't go inside. Fast food places are asking for proof of vaccination?

[quote] I'm fine with them serving all customers because I go through the drive thru. My question is about whether all employees are vaccinated.
We don’t require vaccinations of our Associates so we extend that courtesy to our Customers.

SF is the most densely populated city outside if NY in the U.S. The strict regulations have kept it from ever having a major outbreak even though COVID hit there much earlier than other parts of the country. If the entire country had followed SF's protocols we wouldn't have 700,000 dead people from COVID. Wearing a mask, getting a couple of jabs and flashing a card just isn't that onerous.
Dying of COVID is miserable. It's not an easy death and long COVID is brutal.
In 'n Outs grandstanding is silly since they're primarily a take-out joint anyway. And yeah the fries are limp, but after reading Fast Food Nation, I quit eating fast food around 15 years ago except for Popeyes once every few years. I don't miss it

I'm not boycotting them because of this. I'm boycotting them because they don't have any locations near me.

I boycott them because of the horrific animal abuse (look it up if you don't belive me).

We don’t have In-N-Out here in NYC, so it’s not a question for me.
But I do feel bad for restaurant workers who have to be enforcers on top of everything else. I think the city of SF should pay cops to do it.

November 9, 2020 -- Cuomo blasted President Trump’s vaccine plan Monday morning as “flawed” and went so far as to declare: “We can’t let this vaccination plan go forward the way that Trump and his administration is designing it.”
The Democratic governor — who has a bitter relationship with the president — made the comments on “Good Morning America” Monday, moments after he acknowledged that tests on Pfizer’s experimental COVID-19 vaccine “look good” and he believes a vaccine will be “available shortly.”
Cuomo said the vaccine rollout plan needed to be stopped until his old friend President-elect Joe Biden takes office in January, otherwise it will cause “damage.”
Newsom and Kamala each made similar statements undercutting public acceptance of the medicines.

Extreme Left vs. Extreme Right, just like the rest of the country. I have always liked In & Out, despite their Fundamentalist origins. I avoid large gatherings full of maskless Trumptards. I am a liberal Democrat who had to leave the birthplace of The Oppression Olympics to find some peace and normalcy. I will continue to have my 3x3 animal style with animal style fries four times a year. This fat whore won’t be rejoicing until all this madness is over. Jaysus, enough already.

Trump prioritized the states that supported him, so just because a Dem points this out doesn't make the comment inherently political.

In-N-Out donated $40,000 to the Republican Party during the recent, failed attempt to recall California's governor. If that's not enough to leave a bad taste in your mouth, what is?

The LA Times weighs in.
In-N-Out’s battle over California’s vaccine mandate is heating up. Will others join? As more communities across California require proof of vaccination for public venues, the battle over enforcement of the new rules is just beginning to heat up.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA—People just pooping willy-nilly on the sidewalk in San Francisco has been a long-time problem, and City Hall is finally taking action. Now they will require proof of vaccination before people can use the sidewalk as a restroom.
“We can’t believe the brazenness of some people,” said Mayor London Breed, “being out and about and defecating in broad daylight without proof of vaccination. Well, that’s changing. If you’re smearing feces on something and aren’t vaccinated, there is going to be trouble.”
Reactions from San Francisco citizens were largely positive. “Our city is run by escapees from an insane asylum,” said one man.
“That’s literally true,” said another. “They somehow broke out of an asylum for the criminally insane and took over city hall, and we don’t know what to do. Someone, please help us!”
There is now talk of requiring proof of vaccination before someone is allowed to shoplift from a Walgreens, though many city officials worry that would be too onerous.

On a related topic, Chris Hayes was talking this week about "vice signaling", how Republicans are doing the precise opposite of lefty virtue signalling and performatively behaving as terribly as fucking possible.
Psychotic trolling at its finest. They don't mean a damn thing they say, the point is to "get the libs".

R156 I don't pay any attention to the reactionary right just as I don't pay attention to the performative left. It's just a ruse to make money or maintain the status quo. The poor souls who genuinely fall into that kind of nonsense are a tiny minority and are ignored by most sane people.

The issue of vaccine passports is not an issue that affects most people in real life. Even the most progressive cities don't enforce the rules. It's all just performative BS meant to rile up supporters.

Because these asshole cities are demanding it of business owners.
Otherwise, they are fined thousands of dollars and threatened with being shut down.
That's why.

Is he really so fucking hard to spell out "public health?"
No one knows what in the fuck you're trying to say, you lazy fuck.
JUST TYPE OUT THE FUCKING WORDS, you lazy fuck.
It's not as if anyone in the fucking world would know that you meant "public health" by typing the letters PH.
Because it's not even a common abbreviation for the words public health. Because no one in the fucking WORLD uses PH to stand for "public health."
