I expect it has some very gay candlelight suppers?

I watched it last night. It's better than most of the gay films on Amazon and stands on its own as a police drama and has a decent ending. I highly recommend and not just because I'm high.

I'll have to check it out

I didn't know what to expect but it's actually pretty good. It's like the Polish 'Cruising' lol (the Al Pacino movie)...but with communists and without the leather scene

I just finished watching it a couple of days ago. It's a well written, directed and acted thriller/drama, based on real events, and set in late 80s Poland. The sets, props, and ambience capture that era extremely well, but being an Eastern European country, that probably didn't require much of an effort.
However, it held my interest throughout, and, of course, the big plus was that the relatively young police detective (Tomasz Zietek) is very attractive and hot, and his inevitable romantic entanglement with a young gay student, Arek (Hubert Milkowski), who's integral to the police investigation, weaves nicely into the main plot of the film.
It's an engaging movie and I would recommend watching it.

Just watched the (well-done) dubbed version on Netflix, and it's a nail-biter.
Plot is a little obscure at times but it mostly becomes clear by the end.
As one reviewer put it, "the film’s resolution is far from tidy or closed, yet it still manages to satisfy."

Watched it tonight. Pretty good. The leading man is very appealing.

He looks very handsome but this seems like a depressing violent story. Is it just one dipshit above with the Keeping up Appearances references? Did we need 10?

Any Pole poles on display? They are my weakness.

The twink is hot too.

I watched it recently, OP. It's a very good, not great 80s noir period piece. It just felt like the last third of the film got rushed -- perhaps it would have benefited from being a 4-party limited series with a little more room to breathe.
It did make me a think a documentary on the real life Operation Hyacinth would be interesting. Especially since many of the thousands of Polish men entrapped in the operation would still be around.
*****SPOILER ALERTS BELOW*****
Did our protagonist spy the police chief in one of those films of the sex parties at the villa? I thought that might have been him on the VHS tape, but only recognized him afterward.
