by Anonymousreply 1October 19, 2021 5:02 AM

Does it feature a slimline, white telephone?

by Anonymousreply 2October 19, 2021 5:02 AM

Is Tarquin a secret agent?

by Anonymousreply 3October 19, 2021 5:06 AM

It will have ripperian entertainment.

by Anonymousreply 4October 19, 2021 5:26 AM

Anything gay from Poland sounds brave.

by Anonymousreply 5October 19, 2021 5:38 AM

Anything gay from Poland sounds hot!

by Anonymousreply 7October 19, 2021 6:32 AM

by Anonymousreply 8October 19, 2021 6:49 AM

Oh, dear, r4!

by Anonymousreply 9October 19, 2021 7:33 AM

Will they get to use Royal Doultons?

by Anonymousreply 10October 19, 2021 7:40 AM

Will the china have hand-painted periwinkles?

Will the furniture be delivered so that the neighbors see the royal warrant?

Will they have coffee in 10 minutes???

by Anonymousreply 11October 19, 2021 8:29 AM

Onslow saw something that day.

by Anonymousreply 12October 19, 2021 8:36 AM

I expect it has some very gay candlelight suppers?

by Anonymousreply 13October 19, 2021 9:02 AM

I watched it last night. It's better than most of the gay films on Amazon and stands on its own as a police drama and has a decent ending. I highly recommend and not just because I'm high.

by Anonymousreply 14October 19, 2021 9:15 AM

I'll have to check it out

by Anonymousreply 15October 19, 2021 3:37 PM

I didn't know what to expect but it's actually pretty good. It's like the Polish 'Cruising' lol (the Al Pacino movie)...but with communists and without the leather scene

I just finished watching it a couple of days ago. It's a well written, directed and acted thriller/drama, based on real events, and set in late 80s Poland. The sets, props, and ambience capture that era extremely well, but being an Eastern European country, that probably didn't require much of an effort.

However, it held my interest throughout, and, of course, the big plus was that the relatively young police detective (Tomasz Zietek) is very attractive and hot, and his inevitable romantic entanglement with a young gay student, Arek (Hubert Milkowski), who's integral to the police investigation, weaves nicely into the main plot of the film.

It's an engaging movie and I would recommend watching it.

R9 is clueless.

Just watched the (well-done) dubbed version on Netflix, and it's a nail-biter.

Plot is a little obscure at times but it mostly becomes clear by the end.

As one reviewer put it, "the film’s resolution is far from tidy or closed, yet it still manages to satisfy."

Watched it tonight. Pretty good. The leading man is very appealing.

by Anonymousreply 22December 5, 2021 6:42 AM

He looks very handsome but this seems like a depressing violent story. Is it just one dipshit above with the Keeping up Appearances references? Did we need 10?

by Anonymousreply 23December 5, 2021 6:51 AM

Any Pole poles on display? They are my weakness.

by Anonymousreply 24December 5, 2021 10:42 AM

The twink is hot too.

by Anonymousreply 25December 5, 2021 2:12 PM

I watched it recently, OP. It's a very good, not great 80s noir period piece. It just felt like the last third of the film got rushed -- perhaps it would have benefited from being a 4-party limited series with a little more room to breathe.

It did make me a think a documentary on the real life Operation Hyacinth would be interesting. Especially since many of the thousands of Polish men entrapped in the operation would still be around.

*****SPOILER ALERTS BELOW*****

Did our protagonist spy the police chief in one of those films of the sex parties at the villa? I thought that might have been him on the VHS tape, but only recognized him afterward.

by Anonymousreply 26January 16, 2022 2:56 AM

The other cop is like a Polish Ron Swanson.

by Anonymousreply 27January 16, 2022 1:36 PM

The cop actor looks like Pedro Pascal.

by Anonymousreply 28January 16, 2022 2:10 PM

Watched it this morning. Good little film. HOT sex scene.

by Anonymousreply 29January 16, 2022 3:02 PM

I watched this movie about a month ago. It was pretty good. The gay closeted cop is just my type- Slim and Cute.
