Variety says the budget for this movie is north of $100 million dollars. Does that mean it needs a box office of $200 million to break even?

It has great reviews but absolutely no buzz which is odd for a Ridly Scott film. I like Driver but I wouldn't see Matt Damon in anything save a bodybag. Even the title is boring and generic.

Scott has House of Gucci coming out and the preview got applause at a showing of Eyes of Tammy Faye I saw recently.

The rape scene is played two different ways as the film is told somewhat of a Rashomon style. One echoes an earlier scene where there is a playful seduction and then one is undoubtedly rape.

Matt Damon is one creepy guy. I’m able to get through Ripley because of Jude Law but Affleck can’t pull me into anything Damon does, and I like Affleck a lot.

I think the " someone messed with my woman and now they will pay" genre is thankfully going out of style. It's so trashy and backward. It's kind of a weird theme for a film, I'm not sure who the intended audience is.

It's based on a real, well-documented duel, and probably is meant for the people who enjoyed the super-scary version of the Middle Ages offered in Game of Thrones.

This movie had no marketing support - the stars didn't really even do the rounds to promote it.

I have no idea what it's about or who is even in it.

Star Matt Damon is 51, this is a project that really shouldn’t have been greenlit without a star under 40. But I think the bleak visuals and the fact that it’s a medieval pic without monsters and magic put it out of step with what the public wants.

Maybe people want to see a medieval film that isn’t all grey misery, violence and rape.

Maybe we need some Errol Flynn and some Lincoln green.

Netflix has been making atrocious movies for nearly a decade--genuine garbage costing $100 mil each that have no life (and barely any artistry) beyond the few weeks after release where lots of people click on them and watch for a few mins before falling asleep or wandering off to do household chores.

Jodie Comer and (surprisingly) Ben Affleck were the standouts. The story is told Rashomon style, from the perspectives of Damon, Driver and Comer.
