I do like me some horror movies, especially enjoying going back and catching up on all the classics and earlier ones. I was just wondering if it were worth shelling out for Shudder or not? So many streaming services seem to have maybe 3 things I want to watch and then nothing else, haha. Curious as to what your experiences are. I have Netflix and Amazon Prime, but only find things I want to watch on there occasionally.
Anyone here have Shudder? Is it any good? Worth it?

Lots of crap B movies. I picked through what I liked in the trial month and canceled. If you like slasher/graphically gory horror films, it’s definitely for you. I liked Horror Noir a lot. Great documentary.

I didn’t think there was anything good on it. Any good horror on there is available on other streaming platforms.

☝️This. There is some original programming—and some decent foreign/independent horror films, but not enough to justify a subscription.

Season 4 of Dragula is about to premiere. I never gave two shits for Drag Race, but a horror-themed drag competition is just up my alley.

Thanks everyone, I think the point about good horror being available elsewhere is particularly useful. I don't want to pay for something I will barely find anything I like on.
I enjoy horror a lot, but I'm not necessarily the kind of person who watched ANYTHING just because it's horror, you know?

Yeah I like good horror films with a good plot that’s scary/creepy. A big percentage of the content on Shudder is violence porn imo

Oh no, R6. That's not my thing at all. Unless the storyline was out of this world, then nah. I like my horror to have more the edge of "thrills/fun" in it. I think we're probably similar in what we like. I can't sit there for ages watching people be tortured. It's why I hate sexual violence in film too, it's watching someone be tortured.
Shudder is sounding to me like most streaming services - a couple of good things and then heaps and heaps of dreck.

Yes I actually stopped watching those because you do see how many are about torture, especially young women. It feels perverse and it’s no wonder there are so many twisted folks if they watch a steady diet of that garbage.

Dragula has a bioqueen lady this season named Sigourney Beaver.
