Thirtysomething
How come Thirtysomething has not entered into television legend? It's true that it was a whiny, baby boomer show, and the characters were annoying as fuck. But it also brags that it was the first show to portray two gay men in bed after sex. The men were David Marshall Grant and Peter Frechette.
[quote]Many viewers complained. ABC opted not to re-air the episode.

So maybe they did one thing right.

Because we've all spent our lifetimes listening to boomers whine in real life; we don't need it on TV, too.

Because most of the characters were smug assholes who didn't have any relatable problems. Like we need more smug assholes with money in our lives.
Hope should have been killed off in the second episode. Still wouldn't have helped though.

I’m surprised too. I streamed this back in the late 2000s (don’t even remember how) and thought it was interesting, if nothing else, for the home decor and fashion. I really liked every character but Hope and Michael.

The first episode is a bit hard to take with Polly Draper's character having a meltdown on a public playground because she won't get the same attention from best friend Hope now that Hope has a baby.
It only ran 4 seasons, yet won 13 Emmy awards, so what do I know?

I was too young to watch it, but watched my mom's DVDs of it a few years ago. I have a love/hate relationship with it. At times it could be brilliant, but you could certainly see the start of the helicopter parenting mommy culture that plagues our society start here.
