Celebrities who would’ve benefitted from dying young

Brigitte Bardot

by Anonymousreply 87October 17, 2021 11:31 PM

Well, since she never made a movie until she was 33, I'll give you three guesses.

by Anonymousreply 1October 15, 2021 2:01 AM

R1 Madonna?

by Anonymousreply 2October 15, 2021 2:05 AM

Johnny Depp

by Anonymousreply 3October 15, 2021 2:09 AM

Donald Trump.

by Anonymousreply 4October 15, 2021 2:11 AM

I saw a Joan Jett live show video recently.

Flabby arms and a belly in a black tank top. Her face work isn't good either.

Loved her back in the day but things have taken a turn.

by Anonymousreply 5October 15, 2021 2:13 AM

Morrissey

by Anonymousreply 6October 15, 2021 2:18 AM

Tammy Cruise

by Anonymousreply 7October 15, 2021 2:20 AM

Morrissey is actually hotter as a middle aged man than as a young man.

by Anonymousreply 8October 15, 2021 2:22 AM

R8 I mentioned him because if he died at his peak he wouldn’t be called a bigot.

by Anonymousreply 9October 15, 2021 2:23 AM

R5 Wow, you inspired me to search - I'm bummed that I did. Why would she wear something so unflattering?

by Anonymousreply 10October 15, 2021 2:23 AM

Liza. Of course.

by Anonymousreply 11October 15, 2021 2:23 AM

Tony Curtis

by Anonymousreply 12October 15, 2021 2:33 AM

OJ Simpson.

by Anonymousreply 13October 15, 2021 2:34 AM

Leonardo DiCaprio since people only like the young version of him anyway.

by Anonymousreply 14October 15, 2021 2:36 AM

Gene Simmons

by Anonymousreply 15October 15, 2021 2:37 AM

Robert Wagner

by Anonymousreply 16October 15, 2021 2:38 AM

Scott Baio

by Anonymousreply 17October 15, 2021 2:38 AM

Whitney Houston (youngER)

I wonder what would have happened if John Lennon and Paul McCartney had swapped fates…

by Anonymousreply 18October 15, 2021 2:39 AM

R18 John Lennon is lucky he died when he died. He would’ve been cancelled today.

by Anonymousreply 19October 15, 2021 2:40 AM

when he did*

by Anonymousreply 20October 15, 2021 2:41 AM

Lindsay Lohan

Roman Polanski

by Anonymousreply 26October 15, 2021 2:46 AM

Faye Dunaway

by Anonymousreply 27October 15, 2021 2:47 AM

No r27, she was batshit, young or old.

by Anonymousreply 28October 15, 2021 2:49 AM

Britney. I know this is an awful thing to say, but I cannot stand to look at her joker-esque post surgery face; I actually think it makes her look even crazier. Also, does any sane person believe her story will have a happy ending? We're in for a long, painful 'sad last days'.

by Anonymousreply 29October 15, 2021 2:50 AM

Marlon obese bald Brando

by Anonymousreply 30October 15, 2021 2:51 AM

Carrie Fisher

by Anonymousreply 31October 15, 2021 2:52 AM

Elvis probably would have benefitted from dying even younger

by Anonymousreply 32October 15, 2021 2:52 AM

Brad Renfro

Scott Baio.

Bill Cosby

by Anonymousreply 36October 15, 2021 2:59 AM

R34 Yes, mentioned already not that many posts before yours.

by Anonymousreply 37October 15, 2021 3:00 AM

Winona Ryder

by Anonymousreply 38October 15, 2021 3:01 AM

Definitely Donald Trump. Imagine if the Donald were dead at 30, we'd all be spared...

by Anonymousreply 39October 15, 2021 3:02 AM

Stephen Collins.

by Anonymousreply 40October 15, 2021 3:04 AM

Montgomery Clift

by Anonymousreply 41October 15, 2021 3:05 AM

Dying young does have its benefits

by Anonymousreply 42October 15, 2021 3:06 AM

Shelley Winters

by Anonymousreply 43October 15, 2021 3:06 AM

R41 45 is pretty young, unless you mean before the car accident.

by Anonymousreply 44October 15, 2021 3:07 AM

R43 I thought DL was delighted Shelley Winters got to grow old.

by Anonymousreply 45October 15, 2021 3:09 AM

Yeah, I meant before the car accident, instead of drinking himself to an early death for years afterwards.

by Anonymousreply 46October 15, 2021 3:09 AM

Harry

Julia Roberts (2003-ish would have been the perfect time for her to go)

by Anonymousreply 47October 15, 2021 4:12 AM

M should've been aborted.

by Anonymousreply 48October 15, 2021 5:33 AM

There are none. You have a warped view of celebrity. Find a therapist.

by Anonymousreply 49October 15, 2021 5:46 AM

Michael Jackson

by Anonymousreply 50October 15, 2021 6:08 AM

R50 He’s already benefited from dying in 2009.

by Anonymousreply 51October 15, 2021 2:46 PM

Had Montgomery Clift died in his car accident and not a drunken, outcast mess ten years later, he would have been remembered like James Dean.

by Anonymousreply 52October 15, 2021 4:50 PM

By the time Jackson died in 2009, his legend had deteriorated. Had he died in the 80s, he'd be a god.

by Anonymousreply 53October 15, 2021 6:08 PM

Eric Clapton

by Anonymousreply 54October 17, 2021 3:51 AM

David Lee Roth.

As I said on the other thread, everything that made him a blast as a young front man was ridiculous in an older man.

by Anonymousreply 55October 17, 2021 3:54 AM

Angelina Jolie

by Anonymousreply 56October 17, 2021 5:25 AM

Angie’s father.

by Anonymousreply 57October 17, 2021 8:23 AM

Queen Elizabeth II

by Anonymousreply 58October 17, 2021 2:50 PM

Prince Charles

by Anonymousreply 59October 17, 2021 3:03 PM

How about celebrities who DID benefit from dying young-

Marylin Monroe and James Dean

by Anonymousreply 60October 17, 2021 3:13 PM

BARBRA STREISAND OWNS this thread!

Just think, The Way We Were comes out and Babs has a seizure and drops dead. Wins a posthumous Oscar for best Actress. Hailed (again) for all of her magnificent pre-1970s recordings, TV and stage work. Not soiled by A Star is Born, Yentl or Jon Peters. No earnest Barbra campaigning for the Earth or other causes. No stately elder self absorbed Barbra. It would be heaven!

by Anonymousreply 61October 17, 2021 3:14 PM

Ronald and Nancy Reagan

by Anonymousreply 62October 17, 2021 3:15 PM

R60 Aaliyah, Tupac, Biggie, Selena

by Anonymousreply 63October 17, 2021 3:33 PM

R60 Kurt Cobain

by Anonymousreply 64October 17, 2021 3:36 PM

Whitney should have died earlier than the early she did die at. Just after The Bodyguard. No haggard bewigged Whitney.

by Anonymousreply 65October 17, 2021 3:58 PM

Elvis a little earlier too, before he became bloated and sweaty

by Anonymousreply 66October 17, 2021 3:58 PM

Monroe died at just the right time.....eternally youthful, the downward spiral into middle age bloat and drug mess would not have been pretty.

by Anonymousreply 67October 17, 2021 4:01 PM

Peter Lawford stayed too long at the party

by Anonymousreply 68October 17, 2021 4:01 PM

Judy should have gone after OZ

by Anonymousreply 69October 17, 2021 4:02 PM

James Dean would have been TOTALLY washed up as a box office attraction by the late 60's if he had lived. By the early 1970's he'd be appearing in ALL STAR disaster movies like The Poseidon Adventure and The Towering Inferno.

by Anonymousreply 70October 17, 2021 4:36 PM

r69, what are you shaying!

by Anonymousreply 71October 17, 2021 4:38 PM

R60 Tired of DL shitting on Dean. He was a gifted young actor and would’ve continued to hone his craft and give great performances had he not died young. Martin Sheen based his characterization of Kit Carruthers in Terrence Malick’s Badlands on Dean. I can easily imagine Dean in that role.

No, R69, Judy should’ve gone after her 1964 concert at the London Palladium.

by Anonymousreply 73October 17, 2021 4:48 PM

Did David Bowie ever address the allegations of having sex with multiple teenaged groupies in the 70’s?

by Anonymousreply 74October 17, 2021 4:55 PM

If Ellen had died two years ago her reputation wouldn’t have been tainted.

by Anonymousreply 75October 17, 2021 5:00 PM

Brando, DiCaprio, Depp

by Anonymousreply 76October 17, 2021 5:03 PM

72- Big Deal. He sits there mumbling a few lines while smoking a cigarette 🚬

by Anonymousreply 77October 17, 2021 5:13 PM

Try again

by Anonymousreply 78October 17, 2021 5:14 PM

R77 That was meant for you

by Anonymousreply 79October 17, 2021 5:14 PM

DiCaprio is one of the few movie stars and box office draws we have left, there is no need for him to die young.

by Anonymousreply 80October 17, 2021 5:15 PM

Joan Crawford

by Anonymousreply 81October 17, 2021 5:24 PM

Much as I love her, Dame Liz Taylor would've benefitted tremendously if she'd passed away whilst filming 'Cleopatra'. She would've still gotten the Oscar for 'Butterfield 8', and her heirs would've licensed her images for decades a la Monroe, James Dean, etc. As it was, she descended into alcoholism with Dick Burton, and lucked out with the drugstore perfume empire. Her heirs could've still licensed the perfume and most likely doubled the profits from the sentimental value of young, dead Liz. (Dame Liz usually used younger pics of herself in adverts of the perfumes, anyway.)

by Anonymousreply 82October 17, 2021 5:25 PM

R82, why not let her live until her more deserved Oscar for Virginia Woolf?!

by Anonymousreply 83October 17, 2021 6:05 PM

Not that I wish anyone dead but I think Charlie Sheen’s legacy could have been saved by an early death. Maybe in the early years of Two and a Half Men.

by Anonymousreply 84October 17, 2021 6:11 PM

Armie Hammer

by Anonymousreply 85October 17, 2021 8:56 PM

[quote]No, [R69], Judy should’ve gone after her 1964 concert at the London Palladium.

Absolutely not, maybe after A Star is Born ten years earlier. That way we won't have to live through blimp Judy.

R70 I think that if James Dead had lived, he'd have ended up with Dennis Hopper's career.
