What if Dolly had bailed on being in the movies. Who else might have made a good Doralee in Nine to Five?
Who else could have played Doralee in Nine to Five?

I'd go with another country singer like Juice Newton or Crystal Gayle.

They were all so well cast for 9 to 5 - one of my few comfort movies that I own.

Fortunately, the casting director thought he was a better fit for Frank.

Garbage movie that was only bearable because of Dolly.

If she were a little older, Jennifer Tilly would have been fun in the role. Jean Kasem was pretty hot at the time because of CHEERS, I could see her being fun in the role, too.

I see some very bad ideas upthread. Loni Anderson, Susan Anton? Just no.
My vote was for Olivia Newton John. Despite Dolly's sassy personality, Doralee was not a sassy character. Barbara Mandrell is an interesting suggestion.
