R57 i think Prince was a practicing Bisexual. It just about came out when he died and had been looking so frail. Wven more it showed how bizarre his mindset was that he thought a female would want him after all of the abuse. Its sad to watch because with backing tracks and backup singers, as well as some precision audio mixing, he could have put on something passable. He's riffing and doesn't have the vocal talent at this age to get away with it (while in the midst of a well known song, he's free to goof around while talking, which they should have pushed for more of). All these legacy acts work very carefully to arrange songs so the singer can sing them--or take a breath while backup singers do some heavy lifting.

I've heard people say that they assumed Roth was gay because he never showed any chemistry with women in videos, well, IMHO he never showed any with men either... because he was ALL about the camera! Instead, Dave was stuck in his weird stream of consciousness riffing that is entertaining in short doses when he talks but deadly as part of a vocal ensemble

He was fun back in the day, and seemed to have a sense or humor, so I liked him.

But obviously, he was doomed to age badly, that sort of I'll-do-anything-for-attention mugging can be cute in a young person, and he was hot enough that it was possible to overlook the tragic hair and ghastly clothes of his heyday. But at a certain age the attention-seeking becomes ridiculous, the mugging juvenile, the athleticism goes whether you like or not, and the voice fades even if you take the best possible care of it. Roth is supposed to be intelligent, he really should have gotten out of show biz in middle age and done something useful with his life. Maybe stuck to being a paramedic, but he's a bit old for that as well.
