The Build Back America or whatever it is called that can't get thru the senate.
Is that true? If his popularity is at 38 percent wouldn't his program be too?

Getting stuff for free is always popular. But then they look at the details and find out free stuff isn't for free.

Miss OP is a true policy wonk.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 13, 2021 9:40 PM |
OP, do a Google search. You are dumb.

Joy Behar is a moderate democrat asslicker.
No one cares what she thinks.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 13, 2021 9:41 PM |
What is this google you talk about r3?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 13, 2021 9:42 PM |
"Google" is Datalounge code for a person with an extremely small penis, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 13, 2021 9:50 PM |
r7, the proper term is outlier. Look at the other polls for the time period. CNN’s number is helping Biden’s average among polls though.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 13, 2021 9:51 PM |
Most polls are biased, based on the people they ask. Since when does Behar know anything?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 13, 2021 9:53 PM |
Then "outlier" would also be the proper term for the poll OP cites, R9.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 13, 2021 10:12 PM |
CNN is not helping when it (Jake Tapper) consistently refers to the stalled reconciliation bill as “President Biden’s Massive Spending Bill.”
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 13, 2021 10:18 PM |
R7. Real Clear Politics is Real Clear full of shit and leans very right. So take anything they say with a boulder of salt.

CNN is starting to turn on Joe. Van Jones went after him last night.

R1 Free stuff? Oh like the TRILLIONS in tax cuts the rich have written for themselves over the last 40 trickle down economic years? That kinda of free? Or is it only free when it goes to people who don’t make over a million a year?
We don’t have a spending problem. We have a revenue problem. Tax the fucking rich. They’ll go from insanely rich to just filthy fucking rich.

[quote]CNN is starting to turn on Joe. Van Jones went after him last night.
Van Jones was Trump's pal, so that's no surprise.
CNN very clearly has a pre-scheduled agenda they follow in terms of how they report on Biden. Start out in the "honeymoon phase" then go to the "he's a disappointment phase," then "he's a failure." The media has done this with every president I've ever known, even Reagan, who was shockingly unpopular by the end of 1983 after his popularity rose when he was shot. Reagan didn't get his popularity back until he started screwing over union workers, the working class, and other stuff that the corporate types love.

Corps are PISSED Biden ended the war. There was so much grifting going on and they were shocked he pulled the plug. The hysterical coverage was such a tell. They didn’t think he’d do it. They were sure they’d sway him with the, “We only have 2,000 troops. It is going so well. Come on, Joe, leave em there.” Nope. They are out for revenge.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 14, 2021 4:11 AM |
He was Trumps pal? r16?
He wept on TV the night Trump won, calling it a whitelash.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 14, 2021 4:13 AM |
r16 is still pissed Van Jones let the cat out of the bag how Russiagate was bullshit but they would push it for ratings anyway
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 14, 2021 4:20 AM |
The Democrats are doing a horrible job (as always) of branding and marketing. The Republicans on here can bitch about “free stuff” all they like, but everything in the Democrats’ bill is paid for. And almost all of the individual spending proposals in the bill enjoy the support of a majority of Americans. But instead of calling it the “Free Universal Preschool” or “Paid Parental Leave for Everybody” bill, the Democrats continue to allow this to be painted as some scary mysterious multi-trillion dollar boondoggle.
And if Biden’s rating has gone down it’s because Manchin and Sinema are killing his agenda, not because his agenda is unpopular. Biden’s pitch was that he was a creature of the senate who’d been in DC for a billion years and could actually get shit done in Washington, and instead it’s just the same old dysfunction due to the filibuster and a couple of GOP senators who pretend to be Democrats.

Biden hasn't met with his cabinet since July.
This isn't going well. Sorry. It's true.

[quote] everything in the Democrats’ bill is paid for
How is it “all paid for”? Biden keeps saying that “asking the rich to pay their fair share of taxes” will pay for everything but how would that work? Send them a letter politely asking them to pay their “fair share”? Seriously. wouldn’t Congress have to vote in some changes in the tax code to accomplish this? And I haven’t heard nary a peep out of a single Rep. or Senator (or Joe Biden) about getting this done.
They keep using that line but I think it’s all b.s.

Well you must not be paying attention R22 because the proposed bill has about $2 trillion in tax increases on the wealthy and corporations, hundreds of billions in medical costs savings, and 136 nations just agreed to institute a global minimum corporate tax rate. Obviously in this ridiculous country all of this depends on whether Manchin and Sinema and a handful of House Dems will block it or not, but the bills absolutely have a plan to cover the spending they want to do
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 14, 2021 6:08 AM |
R26 Exactly. I don’t know if R22 is being a typical GQP idiot or is just an idiot. I don’t know why Dems even bother paying for shit. It’s not like the GQP has ever paid for shit. They just let Dems clean up their mess.
R21 link? Not going well? He inherited one of the biggest messes in our history. IDFK if his approval rating drops, or CNN bashes him, or DL log cabin incels post endlessly about things not going well. He DID get a huge bipartisan infrastructure bill through the SENATE. His American Rescue Plan was also huge. He has already accomplished a helluva lot with just that. Oh, and thanks for signing BORIS as your name. I’ve noticed most of you have just given up pretending. One of you (maybe you) was flat out caught in one Biden bashing thread, first admitted you weren’t from this country, then flamed out defending Russia. It was glorious.
If Biden fails, and the GQP gets back power, you log cabiners think you’re safe? LOLOLOLOLOLOL

R28 the answer is to reward their supporters and punish their enemies. Nobody working in government honestly cares about deficits anymore. And they probably shouldn’t, because we are far past the point of no return on that anyway.

[quote] Joy Behar said that Americans strongly support Biden's program he's pushing
CNN says the majority of Americans disapprove.
A majority of independents oppose President Joe Biden’s $3.5 trillion spending proposal, according to a CNN survey, while most Democrats want a plan that would spend an even greater figure.
Thirty-two percent of independents oppose the bill entirely, according to the network’s poll released Wednesday, while 32 percent would prefer a smaller bill, and another 36 percent prefer something larger.
The number contrasted sharply with support expressed by Democrats, of whom 75 percent said they wanted to see a bill that spent more.
