To keep things in perspective, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger both voted against raising the debt ceiling

I’m thrilled they draw the line at insurrection, but they’re perfectly willing to destroy the U.S. economy just to keep their party—which has rejected them—in power.

And both Cheney and Kinzinger voted against the Voting Rights Act because they are Repigs who are still determined to keep their minority in power any way possible.

Don't let Cheney and Kinzinger's stance on Jan 6 fool you into thinking that GOP "moderates" exist.

Neither voted to stop red state legislatures from overturning elections.

There is nothing the GOP will choose over power: not the constitution, not the economy and not democracy.

the GOP is a terrorist organization

A little something about Mitch McConnell:

Cheney and Kinzinger voted against expanding voting rights as well. They had no problem raising the debt ceiling when it was Trump's administration which skyrocketed the debt.

Mary Trump speaks truth to power. Always.

I saw an interview in Oct 2020 when Kinzinger said he was supporting Trump and would be voting for him in Nov 2020. Kinzinger never turned against Trump the whole time Trump was ranting that the election was stolen. So Kinzinger was perfectly fine with Trump and all his lies and criminal activity 2016-2020. It took an insurrection on Jan 6 for him to finally wake up and do the right thing.

Kinzinger blows like the rest of the Repigs. Liz Cheney voted for Trump too.

I wish people would stop fawning over Cheney and Kinzinger. They are Repigs through and through. And doing the right thing regarding Jan 6 does not absolve them of their four-year support of Trump. They helped create Trump and the insurrection.

Neither of them are our friends and we need to stop thinking they are.

And if Trump were to get back into power, they would support him again.

I don't know why it's considered a revelation that two life-long Republicans toe the party line. They don't like Trump or the GQP, but they still true believers in Republican principles (such as they are).

R10. Voting against the Voting Rights Act is not principled.

Voting against raising the debt ceiling when the Democrats are in power...but voting to raise the debt ceiling when Trump loaded up the country's debt because of tax cuts to the rich is not principled. In other words, the debt ceiling that is being raised now is debt that Trump and the Repigs racked up last year. It's not future debt.

None of this is principled by Cheney and Kinzinger, which means they are not principled.

Cheney and Kinzinger were bothered by Jan 6--and nothing else.

by Anonymousreply 12October 13, 2021 11:30 PM

Jan 6 aside, Cheney and Kinzinger are certainly not on our side...or on the right side of history.
