Steak Diane

I'm 41 and have only ever heard of Steak Diane in the vintage restaurant threads here. Apparently Cheesecake Factory--of all places--still serves it. I've never set foot in there and had no plans to do so, but it sounds good. And I don't even care for steak!

Disclaimer: I realize most very old school steakhouses still serve it. It just surprises me that Cheesecake Factory does.

What’s wrong with Steak Dianne? It is a classic!

There’s a small restaurant chain where I live called Urban Egg that serves a version of that for brunch. It’s really good.

The Cheesecake Factory recipe is not a proper Steak Diane, for Christ's sake.

So it's steak and mashed potatoes with lumpy mushroom gravy.

Will you finish the meal with Bananas Foster?

by Anonymousreply 9October 13, 2021 12:55 PM

My dinners feature the much more sophisticated Veal Prince Orloff and Baked Pears Alicia.

Most Cheesecake Factory offerings taste great.

The problem is they are all 5000 calories each
