Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, followed by Britain's Princess Anne, right, arrives to attend a Service of Thanksgiving to mark the Centenary of the Royal British Legion at Westminster Abbey, in London, Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021.
Queen Elizabeth II uses cane to walk into Westminster Abbey

I have never seen her smile so much. It seems in every picture she is now smiling. Philip must have really constrained her.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 12, 2021 10:15 PM |
The Queen looks frail here and thanks to Meghan for traumatizing her nonstop.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 12, 2021 10:17 PM |
She's 95 fucking years old
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 12, 2021 10:20 PM |
I think she looks fabulous. Great smile too.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 12, 2021 10:21 PM |
For some reason she kept holding the cane up to Anne's face and sniggering.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 12, 2021 10:21 PM |
Bitch looks good for 95.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 12, 2021 10:22 PM |
Way too young to be having mobility issues.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | October 12, 2021 10:22 PM |
[quote] Philip must have really constrained her.
Yeah. She’s now fucking equerries daily.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 12, 2021 10:22 PM |
Well I hope it has some magical powers.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 12, 2021 10:24 PM |

Thanks, indeed.
It would be a pity if that were to continue.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | October 12, 2021 10:25 PM |
I think she will pass away right after she breaks the longest reigning record of Louis XIV.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 12, 2021 10:27 PM |
At least it's not a walker. For 95, she looks great.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | October 12, 2021 10:29 PM |
Yes, quite. It's Meghan's fault.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | October 12, 2021 10:36 PM |
[quote] At least it's not a walker.
Why not? I always think these meetings stand a better chance of succeeding if the prime minister is a walker.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 12, 2021 10:38 PM |
Thank Christ it's not a mobility scooter.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 12, 2021 10:39 PM |
God, I adore that old war horse Q E II. The hat is amazing and so is that bold color.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 12, 2021 10:42 PM |
[quote] Thank Christ it's not a mobility scooter.
Yes. Thank goodness. Next she’ll be riding one of those things at the local Walmart.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 12, 2021 10:42 PM |
r16 There's an idea.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 12, 2021 10:43 PM |
Aren’t all of us on here using canes? Kidding!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 12, 2021 10:46 PM |
You're funny, r19, but seriously, I think it's plausible to wonder if Charles dreads Q E II's death. He knows waiting. True, he's more than prepared to be King, but still.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 12, 2021 10:46 PM |
So now that Philip's gone she's a lesbian?
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 12, 2021 10:47 PM |

Well a pound doesn't go as far as it once did.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 12, 2021 10:48 PM |
Get me my gettin' up stick!

Oh, she'll need a few more years than that to break the record!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 12, 2021 10:56 PM |
Spending up to £1.50 at the Dollar Tree, R23.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 12, 2021 11:00 PM |
I hadn't thought about that R26 - in England is it Pound Tree, Pound General and Family Pound?
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 12, 2021 11:05 PM |
Not only Markle's fault--it's Harry's too.
I"m still pissed they stole my name. I'll never use it again.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | October 12, 2021 11:05 PM |
R27 it’s just generally called the pound shop, love (and that’s not an officially name, just a type of shop).
by Anonymous | reply 29 | October 12, 2021 11:18 PM |
R12 lmao that is exactly the kind of proud shithousing I expect from HM. Shes got such massive bollocks (figuratively speaking)
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 12, 2021 11:20 PM |
R1 ask any long-suffering wife—old men whether well or not constantly seek attention, bitch and moan, instigate, and drain you with their constant neediness.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | October 12, 2021 11:21 PM |
I fully expect to be using a cane when I am 95 years old, if I make it that long.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 12, 2021 11:26 PM |

And no one should dare say that mentioning Meghan isn’t appropriate in this thread after all that Meghan has viciously done to the Queen and her family, causing the Queen so much stress that has been detrimental to her health.

Stress caused my Meghan? QEII knows she will be followed in to the monarchy by her son the first divorced monarch in history. Then there is the next son, accused molester of underage girls. The old gal is 95 years old, it is a miracle she hasn't needed a cane years ago other than when she had knee surgery but ;yeah you blame Meghan.

?

:D :D
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 13, 2021 1:06 AM |
I think she looks great, too. At 95, she's entitled to use a cane. It adds flair...lol.

She should rock a scepter for flair.

It's being said in the British Media that apparently she was concerned about the floor in Westminster Abbey (where today's engagement was held) because it's slightly slippery due to the polish they use. But she still got out of the car unaided and was still pretty spry. I mean lets face it, if you make it to 95 with your marbles intact and you're not shitting yourself, you're in great shape.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 13, 2021 1:59 AM |
R1 - Ffs, she's been smiling continually since she was about 18 in the public eye.
What Philip very likely did was insist that she not to go into a months of mourning and to go on doing her job like the trouper she's always been.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 13, 2021 2:02 AM |
Don't let Mum die. I don't want to be Queen.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 13, 2021 2:02 AM |
R1 I actually don't think it has much to do with Philip. I think the Queen (like a lot of elderly people) is just thrilled to be getting out of the house again after having been locked down for over a year and a half. The Queen is a workaholic. In 2002 when her sister and mother died in quick succession, she responded by increasing her the number of public engagements. She does not like sitting around and dwelling on things.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 13, 2021 2:03 AM |
R34 - She - wasn't - underage. She was 17 the age of sexual consent. There is not even an issue of statutory rape in this case.
Wash, rinse, repeat: she was not underage.
As for Meghan - whataboutery doesn't cancel out the fact that she and Harry put the boot in to the old lady as she was spending what she knew were the last days she would have with a beloved spouse of 73 years. Instead, she had to get up and deal with the lying bullshit that her grandson and his grifter wife, whom the Queen and Charles had treated with enormous warmth and generosity, were spewing on international television to big themselves up and justify how they were treating the very institution that made them marketable.
Harry, by the way, beat up sex workers whilst in the military. That was nicely hushed up.
If you're going to open threads about the Queen, don't expect her family not to come up.

[quote] I mean lets face it, if you make it to 95 with your marbles intact and you're not shitting yourself, you're in great shape.
Well, you have to admit, you don't know anything about the latter. It's not like they'd tell us.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | October 13, 2021 2:11 AM |
I imagine the situation with Andrew is extremely stressful for the Queen. That doesn't mean the stress of the situation with Harry and Meghan (as outlined above by R43) is somehow cancelled out. It's possible to have more than one source of stress in life.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | October 13, 2021 2:11 AM |
She really needs to abdicate or, at the very least, unofficially retire and let Charles reign as regent. Ninety-five is just too old, and her son isn't getting any younger.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | October 13, 2021 2:12 AM |
She's at death's door!
R43 people like you are why most sane DLers avoid these threads. You're like the posters who interject Trump or George Soros (Soros is great friends with the Sussexes btw) into everything.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 13, 2021 2:13 AM |
R46 British Monarchs don't abdicate (only six have abdicated in 1000+ years...all of which were in disgrace) and Charles can only act as monarch if the Queen becomes mentally incapacitated. I don't disagree that a 95+ year old being replaced by a 70+ year old is in the best interest of the institution, but that's what is going to happen.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 13, 2021 2:24 AM |
Why should she abdicate? She’s able to do everything.
I think she looks lovely for an old gal, and she’s competent.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 13, 2021 2:53 AM |
Watching the clip, it appears Princess Anne basically insisted the Queen use it to walk over the cobble stone sidewalk.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 13, 2021 3:18 AM |
Queenie's sad last days!
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 13, 2021 10:05 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 13, 2021 10:24 AM |
And Anne recycled that awful purple outfit again.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 13, 2021 10:32 AM |
R53 when I am old, I shall wear purple!
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 13, 2021 6:49 PM |
The ROYAL purple, you cunts.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 13, 2021 9:34 PM |
The Queen was apparently accidentally recorded saying the word "irritating" today.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | October 15, 2021 2:23 AM |
The Queen is ready to take the reins and no one could run the government better than her.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | October 15, 2021 2:44 AM |
The Queen and that drip Charles have tried very hard over the years to embrace climate change. The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy has about 35 countries involved in saving old forest and planting new. Charles has been Organic at is home Highgrove House for over 35 years. Prince Philip was very much into Nature Reserves and the saving of wildlife.
