Britney's issue is her family isn't trustworthy. It's the same scenario as Lindsay Lohan and Aaron Carter. Amanda Bynes is fortunate that she came from an upper middle class family who didn't rely on her. As soon as Amanda showed symptoms and began acting out, her parents stepped in and got her help. Influenced her to retire as well. Britney had signs of mental illness but her family did not do anything until she hit rock bottom though Britney probably did not trust them for damn good reason. She begrudgingly let her father put her into conservatorship out of fear she would never see her sons again. Her father turned out to be a controlling jerk but he did save her life.

The person who put the tattoo on Amanda Bynes should be ashamed of themselves.

Most tattoo artists I know will actually refuse to do any facial tattoos because even they understand there may be drugs or mental illness involved. So, whoever did Amanda's facial tattoo lacks serious ethics.

The typical DLer thinks that it's fine if she's abused as long as she's "kept alive" but that's not true, and it's not what conservatorship should be about. No one should have ever allowed her family to be her conservators.

I have a mentally ill family member (who currently shaved their head) and while i get what a conservatorship is for, it doesn't mean they don't have basic rights to privacy. It really sucks there isn't more mental health help in the US. We desperately need it.
