Right-wing nut job and walking myocardial infarction, Lt Gov Mark Johnson recently said homosexuals are filthy and if you have a problem with him saying so, come see him! While I don’t expect all of you to fly to Raleigh, he might like to hear from you by phone. His office number is (919) 814-3680.
Homophobic NC Lieutenant Governor Wants To Hear From You!

But what if I AM filthy?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 8, 2021 3:09 PM |
RALEIGH, N.C. — A state lawmaker is calling for Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson to resign after he made pointed comments about homosexuality several months ago.
In June, Robinson was speaking at Asbury Baptist Church in Seagrove when he called transgenderism and homosexuality "filth."
"There is no reason anybody, anywhere in America should be telling any child about transgenderism, homosexuality or any of that filth," Robinson said to applause from the congregation. "And yes, I called it filth. And if you don't like it that I called it filth, come see me about it."
Sen. Jeff Jackson, D-Mecklenburg, said Thursday that North Carolina does not need open discrimination from a high-ranking public official and called for Robinson, a Republican, to resign.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 8, 2021 3:09 PM |
Gov. Roy Cooper's press secretary issued a statement Friday calling Robinson's comments "abhorrent."
“North Carolina is a welcoming state where we value public education and the diversity of our people. It’s abhorrent to hear anyone, and especially an elected official, use hateful rhetoric that hurts people and our state’s reputation," the statement reads.
Robinson's spokesman, John Wesley Waugh, said late Thursday that the lieutenant governor was speaking about education at the church.
"Topics surrounding transgenderism and homosexuality should be discussed at home and not in public education," Waugh said in a statement to WRAL News. "We must focus on reading, writing, and mathematics in North Carolina. Our students have struggled with these topics even before the pandemic. Our primary focus needs to be helping our students succeed, not on topics that should be discussed at home.”
Robinson is no stranger to fiery speeches. During a North Carolina Republican Party convention this summer, he spoke harshly of President Joe Biden, the Black Lives Matter movement and antifa.
In March, he created a task force to examine what he called "indoctrination" of students by North Carolina teachers.
"The classroom should be a place for education, not a place where people's opinions are pushed on our children," Robinson said at the time. "We call it indoctrination, but it could be called many things. It could be called politicizing the classroom."

North Carolinians have always had a problem with the gays. They openly love the gay tourist dollars but refused to allow their gay residents to live in dignity.

Whenever race is brought up he falls back on the same tired trope as all black Republicans: Democrats are the real racists… keeping blacks on the Democrat plantation… there is no such thing as systemic racism …yada yada yada.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 8, 2021 4:13 PM |
Exactly what R12 said. The most homophobic people are very often trying to make up for their own homosexual feelings. Overcompensation. Also, a lot them I've known gain weight as an excuse NOT to have sex in their loveless marriages. Really quite pitiful.
That said, he's still a vile, bigoted cunt and should be booted out of office.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 8, 2021 4:15 PM |
It’s unfortunate the governor’s admonition didn’t include the setting itself - calling attention to the fact that there was sure to be a young gay person in the congregation that day, and that he or she was told in no uncertain terms that they were filth.
And that every single person in that house of God who applauded Robinson’s outrageous rhetoric that day did so from a place of hate.
And that each and every hateful soul that strutted from that building continues to delude themselves that they are Christian.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 8, 2021 4:18 PM |
R12, that was my thought. I've never seen him before and that picture alone gives me vibes.

He has filed for bankruptcy THREE times, had liens placed on his home and is generally a mess in his private life.
Facebook is where he does his trolling but he sounds exactly like one of our trolls. A short list of his greatest hits from his Wiki bio:
Robinson accused people "who support this mass delusion called transgenderism" of seeking "to glorify Satan";[16] claimed that the movie Black Panther was "created by an agnostic Jew and put to film by satanic Marxist" that was "only created to pull the shekels out of your Schvartze pockets" (using a Yiddish word for Black);[16][13] called former President Obama a "a worthless, anti-American atheist"[16] and posted "birther" memes;[13] accused American Muslims of being "INVADERS" who “refuse to assimilate to our ways while demanding respect they have not earned.”; called Michelle Obama a man; and disparaged Joy Behar and Maxine Waters in crude terms.[16] After the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting, Robinson wrote that "Homosexuality is STILL an abominable sin and I WILL NOT join in 'celebrating gay pride.'"[13] In 2020, Robinson asserted that the coronavirus was a "globalist" conspiracy to defeat Donald Trump, and dismissed the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, writing, "The looming pandemic I'm most worried about is SOCIALISM."[13]
R20 same as it ever was. The ability of those churches to ignore the flames coming off of their choir directors and pianists is pathological.

This is why, despite virtually attending (liberal) Episcopalian/Anglican churches on a weekly basis, I’m loath to call myself a Christian. There’s something about Jesus as a character and as a putative symbol of each person’s suffering that I admire. Not to mention his exhortation to care for the “least” in the world. But many, if not the majority, of people who openly profess the Christian faith manifest anything but the virtues that Jesus implores people to have. The merciful ones, the loving ones, the selfless ones — they’re few and far between.

R57, Yes they have. Check out the Mayor Pete threads on the DL full of posts saying blacks are not homophobic. Or if they admit it, only to the point of saying so are white people. Gaslighting because it's not the same percentage. Mainly because of the high percentage of people of color who still embrace the church teachings over other cultures in America.

The point in those threads isn’t that black people can’t be homophobic. It’s that homophobia had little to do with Pete not having much black support, which is true. The majority of black people were already won over by Biden or Bernie (for a lot of young black people). And Pete got a lot of bad press from his poor treatment of the black community in South Bend.

purely anecdotal evidence, but i've never met, known or worked with a black person who was NOT homophobic (and that's putting it nicely) for whatever reasons...(here in the midwest)..
by Anonymous | reply 77 | October 9, 2021 7:00 PM |
I never meant this thread to devolve into a discussion of the systemic homophobia in the black community.
Yes, black people are, generally in my experience, homophobic. The reason, also in my experience, is because of the church. My experience only covers Southern black people but they were 70% of the school population where I matriculated.
While I vehemently disagree with many of the opinions held by churches, black or not, I can’t blame black Americans for clinging to the church. The black church, during a time of social and political change, was the only acceptable and available haven. Church membership and attendance is still seen as a marker of higher class in the black community.
I can’t hate on the black church. I clung to gay bars like a religion in the 90s even though they used me for profit and made me feel, purposefully, better then the other people there. Community is community.
I can’t blame them even if I do t like it. I will say that Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson wants to hear from you. I’m planning a meeting with him but I know you all can’t be there so I’d LOVE for you you call his number as posted in the OP.
He wants to hear from you!

[quote]he point in those threads isn’t that black people can’t be homophobic. It’s that homophobia had little to do with Pete not having much black support, which is true.
Actually that was the point, the "reason" Mayor Pete didn't have any support was blatant homophobia. They used racism as a cover for that. He fired the Chief of police because HE BROKE THE LAW not because he was black. I guarantee you had he not done that, Pete would still have not gotten any support from the black community. They would have found some other excuse.
The rapper DaBaby comes to mind.

Yes, it is disingenuous. It's much worse for gay people. People of color have LEGAL rights gays still DO NOT have. You can legally discriminate open with a job and housing in some states if the person is gay. Try that openly with someone who is black and you will find yourself in court paying thousands of dollars and a spot on the local news. You can murder a young gay man and no one wants to talk about it. It's always a "private matter". That's why you don't see video of some cop doing it, the local people will do it for them.

Most black people will vote Republican if the party was less racist. Since most black people are socially conservative their beliefs align more with right-wing conservatism. If the right made a genuine effort and adopted some of the left economic policies and truly denounced racism in their party black people might switch in huge numbers.

For pity's sake, they pass laws so that some low IQ phobe who bakes a sheet cake or some douche in scrubs can refuse to feed us or treat our wounds, if they're offended by our very existence!
That is pure hatred. Snap out of thinking these bastards are yelling this vile shit while jerking off to the Mormon Boyz or Thug Porn after wifey goes to bed.

If you live anywhere else, channel that anger into a donation to the NC Democratic party or an NC candidate you like.

Obama has never been anti-gay. The end of DADT and DOMA had nothing to do with Biden--Obama promised those things when he was campaigning.
Biden helped Obama vocalize that he was specifically supporting of gay marriage--and that came long after the administration started work to end DADT and DOMA.
In fact, Obama used the whole force of the Executive Branch to support a pro-gay governmental stance.

They targeted their campaign (from Utah) in black neighborhood all over Los Angeles and other parts of California that had a large concentration of people of color. Guess what, it worked. Gay marriage was banned thanks to black voters getting all riled up and being homophones for the most part.
The Mormon Church openly admitted that was their strategy because they were proud of their success. They knew blacks were more homophobic than the general population.

Because white people are not oppresses or marginalized. People of color as a minority group in the US are usually supported by other minority groups like LGBTQ. So when a minority cries about being a victim, you would expect them to show more sympathy to other oppressed groups. But when they act just as bad or worse and towards other people not like them, it's twice as insulting because they should know better, they know how it feels to be marginalized. Especially when those same groups have been on their side of the fight when they needed help.
