Michael C Hall discusses his ‘Mostly Straight’ fluid sexuality

Mostly straight dudes are having a huge moment

Dexter star Michael C. Hall has been open about his sexuality, admitting he’s heterosexual “as a rule,” but he also doesn’t consider himself “all the way” straight. What did Hall say about embracing his own sexual fluidity, playing LGBTQ roles, and not quite fitting into the heterosexual box? Dexter star Michael C. Hall has been open about his sexuality, admitting he’s heterosexual “as a rule,” but he also doesn’t consider himself “all the way” straight. What did Hall say about embracing his own sexual fluidity, playing LGBTQ roles, and not quite fitting into the heterosexual box? Hall said he’s “always leaned into any fluidity” in his sexuality. “I think there’s a spectrum. I am on it. I’m heterosexual. But if there was a percentage, I would say I was not all the way heterosexual,” he explained.

He noted some of his roles required him “to fling a bunch of doors wide open,” using as an example how he “made out” with a man nightly for a play. But he said beyond that, he also craved more from men offstage than what fit into some heteronormative boxes.

“I had an appetite to have emotional connections with men beyond beer, sports, and fist pumping,” he explained. Still, he concluded, “As, a rule, I am heterosexual.”

Previously, Hall was married to his Dexter co-star, Jennifer Carpenter. The two remained friendly and continued working on the show after their divorce. Hall and Carpenter both returned to their roles for Showtime’s Dexter: New Blood, as well.

In regards to relationships, Hall once said he’s a “coupler.” He married his third and current wife, Morgan McGregor, in 2016.

So, Hall identifies as heterosexual “coupler,” though he acknowledges a bit of fluidity to that. And some fans really appreciate that he’s open about where he falls — or where he doesn’t quite fall — on the sexuality spectrum.

Translation: Mostly Gay

by Anonymousreply 2October 7, 2021 11:30 PM

Naw

by Anonymousreply 3October 7, 2021 11:31 PM

Same nonsense we heard from Lucas Hedges, but less of a word salad.

by Anonymousreply 4October 7, 2021 11:35 PM

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

by Anonymousreply 5October 7, 2021 11:39 PM

Pandering, pandering, pandering

by Anonymousreply 6October 7, 2021 11:39 PM

Another gay baiter. I look at this like the feminists look at the trannies, you can't just say you lean straight but lean fluid too. It diminishes all the things that happen to us as gays, like all the trauma and stigma and young gay suicide. Fuck him to hell.

by Anonymousreply 7October 7, 2021 11:40 PM

💤💤💤💤💤

by Anonymousreply 8October 7, 2021 11:40 PM

What the HELL does this mean?

by Anonymousreply 9October 7, 2021 11:41 PM

Oh he wanted fist pumping alright. He just wanted the other guy's fist wrapped around his cock as it pumped.

by Anonymousreply 10October 7, 2021 11:41 PM

There’s no such thing as a spectrum and he just proved it with his nonsense.

by Anonymousreply 11October 7, 2021 11:42 PM

I would care more if he was cuter.

by Anonymousreply 12October 7, 2021 11:46 PM

I don't understand a thing he said. So did he hook up with men beyond sports and beer or not?

by Anonymousreply 13October 7, 2021 11:46 PM

OP, are you so freakin' lazy that you can't edit your own post, or are you so wasted you're seeing double?

by Anonymousreply 14October 7, 2021 11:47 PM

He's shilling for headlines. He's about as gay as any guy, which generally isn't much.

by Anonymousreply 15October 7, 2021 11:52 PM

He wants to be able to say yes to any future gay roles that may come his way, without repercussions.

by Anonymousreply 16October 7, 2021 11:53 PM

He's been married to women three times. What's he talking about?

by Anonymousreply 17October 7, 2021 11:57 PM

Translation: I like fucking men, but I don’t want to marry one.

by Anonymousreply 18October 7, 2021 11:59 PM

It's just laying the groundwork in case he ever gets caught with a guy. Maybe he thinks that something from his past may resurface?

He can say he never lied now.

by Anonymousreply 19October 7, 2021 11:59 PM

He always ping as a bisexual. He is finally trying to acknowledge publicly he has been with men. Baby steps.

by Anonymousreply 20October 7, 2021 11:59 PM

He's dipping a toe in the waters of gaytown.

by Anonymousreply 21October 8, 2021 12:00 AM

I'd like to test his theory. This picture is probably photoshopped, but I'd like to imagine it's real. I would dig in.

by Anonymousreply 22October 8, 2021 12:02 AM

He's a good actor but I don't care about his personal life. I thought Debbie died in the original Dexter.

by Anonymousreply 23October 8, 2021 12:03 AM

R16, most actors who get cast in gay roles are straight, why would there be any repercussions?

He's just gay but wants to pretend to be "fluid" - he hooked up with guys in his theater days

by Anonymousreply 24October 8, 2021 12:06 AM

R7, he is gay. You think this theater queen is straight? LOL.

Some people are gullible, I guess.

by Anonymousreply 25October 8, 2021 12:07 AM

“Mostly straight”? Gurl is a closet case, or a gay baiting hipster. It is trendy to be fluid.

by Anonymousreply 26October 8, 2021 12:11 AM

R26, maybe it's trendy for girls, but straight guys would rather kill themselves than be seen as anything other than straight

This guy is family. Billy Masters outed him on Filth2go back in the day

by Anonymousreply 27October 8, 2021 12:12 AM

So does this mean the new season of Dexter is going to suck and they're just trying to rake in viewers?

by Anonymousreply 28October 8, 2021 12:12 AM

Meh. Wake me when Anthony Michael Hall says the same thing.

by Anonymousreply 29October 8, 2021 12:13 AM

Jason Mraz came straight out and said he's bi and has been with men, without the ridiculous word salad.

by Anonymousreply 30October 8, 2021 12:13 AM

How nice for you, Michael.

With each passing year we are less about your "percentages" or what that means in the real world of your butt plug and sneak-porn.

by Anonymousreply 31October 8, 2021 12:15 AM

R28, how would this help them rake in viewers? No one is watching a show because one actor on it Identifies as "mostly straight"

by Anonymousreply 32October 8, 2021 12:15 AM

Here's the Filth2go blind item that outed him back in the day:

“Mostly straight” is a growing male sexual identity

by Anonymousreply 34October 8, 2021 12:26 AM

Can bisexuals ever not be exhausting?

by Anonymousreply 35October 8, 2021 12:30 AM

Lucas Hedges is not the only one r4. I believe Josh Hutcherson said something similar about being mostly straight.

by Anonymousreply 36October 8, 2021 12:34 AM

I'm more interested in the DLer who claims to have blown straight Peter Krause.

by Anonymousreply 37October 8, 2021 12:48 AM

R4, but Lucas is gay

by Anonymousreply 38October 8, 2021 12:55 AM

Just say the dreaded B word instead of this fluid bullshit .

by Anonymousreply 39October 8, 2021 1:09 AM

I was genuinely surprised when I watched Six Feet Under and found out he was married to a woman. He played that role way too well.

by Anonymousreply 40October 8, 2021 1:16 AM

I don’t know why people are surprised by this word salad, Gay people helped create this bullshit.

The reason Trans and all this nearly straight stuff is because of 101 Queer theory. It has been pushed by Institutions and ourselves for years.

We have been pushing the whole sex is a spectrum and men are fluid etc since before I was fucking born. The whole Kinsey study that helped Gay rights was all about sex on the spectrum. Then when we get pissed when it is mirrored in the real world. We helped with this.

Americans have never understood BI, but it has been going on the world since time immemorial. How do you think we got Trade into Gay Porn and the guys ended up married. In the real world, nothing is black and white but in America you just don’t get that.

by Anonymousreply 41October 8, 2021 1:36 AM

I love mostly straights. I’m not attracted to MCH, but I’ve met and vibed with some smokin mostly straight guys. They tend to have great physiques

by Anonymousreply 42October 8, 2021 1:42 AM

Women aren't keen on dating Bi men and neither are gay men.

Coming out as Bi shrinks your dating pool rather than increasing it.

It's why most Bi men eventually make a choice.

by Anonymousreply 43October 8, 2021 1:49 AM

I went to high school with him in Raleigh.

by Anonymousreply 44October 8, 2021 1:56 AM

Not really. So many men seeking men on dating apps are only seeking bi or straight identified guys. There have been studies that show identifying as gay on dating apps severely decreases chances of getting replies

by Anonymousreply 45October 8, 2021 1:57 AM

Link to said studies please.

by Anonymousreply 46October 8, 2021 1:59 AM

Yeah, he's fucked guys

by Anonymousreply 47October 8, 2021 2:23 AM
straight guys would rather kill themselves than be seen as anything other than straight

oh please - maybe in Alabama. Straight guys are not so uptight anymore.

by Anonymousreply 48October 8, 2021 2:32 AM

Precisely

by Anonymousreply 49October 8, 2021 2:57 AM

Epitome of bi.

by Anonymousreply 50October 8, 2021 3:02 AM

Hey Michael. Put up or shut up.

by Anonymousreply 51October 8, 2021 3:55 AM

Its actually kind of great that actors can say "yeah, i've fucked around with some guys over the years". Although with today's digital world, its definitely more challenging for them to keep things quiet if they do occasionally want some D.

by Anonymousreply 52October 8, 2021 5:41 AM

R44, Ravenscroft, apparently. The word amongst the underclassmen was that he was not fucking around much but was totally gay in high school and was never heard from again when he went away to college. He was the same year as my sister so I heard a lot of gossip even before he became famous.

by Anonymousreply 53October 8, 2021 6:01 AM

Saw him up close on Broadway years ago in “Mr Marmalade.” (Awful play.) But the audience could see him smelling cookies from the balcony.

by Anonymousreply 54October 8, 2021 6:06 AM

With the new minority/protected class purity tests being implemented, you will see more of this from actors, in general. Why do you think every actor who isn't Anglo-Saxon is suddenly, very loudly proclaiming a pride in their parents' ethnicities? Pride that was absent a few years ago? It's to get work. That's why so many gays are suddenly "non-binary". They believe it will get them more work.

by Anonymousreply 55October 8, 2021 6:28 AM

Oh fuck off R55, rumors, and more than, have been swirling around MCH for as long as he been known to the public.

I know your mother is busy sucking streetcorner cock right now but that doesn’t mean you should be shitting all over the DataLounge.

by Anonymousreply 56October 8, 2021 6:42 AM

R56 sure,, perhaps. But he wouldn't be actively putting this out there right now unless it helped. That's what every actor is doing right now, covering their bases to capitalize on the woke mandate.

by Anonymousreply 57October 8, 2021 6:52 AM

I want to know how many dicks he sucked.

by Anonymousreply 58October 8, 2021 7:10 AM

Six Feet Under is one of the greatest tv series ever.

by Anonymousreply 59October 8, 2021 8:54 AM

I always thought the female co-star he married, the actress who played his sister on DEXTER, was a lesbian.

Think he's been married about two or three times?

by Anonymousreply 60October 8, 2021 9:41 AM

He is just gay baiting so that he can align with a minority and not just be a straight white guy. Boring.

by Anonymousreply 61October 8, 2021 11:03 AM

I wonder if his ex wife caught him sucking a dick.

by Anonymousreply 62October 8, 2021 11:07 AM

R62 He was bobbing for apples, Rose.

by Anonymousreply 63October 8, 2021 11:45 AM

I actually saw his dick once (changing backstage), average size, thick, narrow head.

by Anonymousreply 64October 8, 2021 11:55 AM
your mother is busy sucking streetcorner cock right now but

Pics please.

by Anonymousreply 65October 8, 2021 11:55 AM

This revelation would've meant something back when he was somewhat attractive.

by Anonymousreply 66October 8, 2021 12:03 PM

We’re coming after them, r24.

by Anonymousreply 67October 8, 2021 2:35 PM

It’s a very homophobic way of admitting to liking dick.

by Anonymousreply 68October 8, 2021 4:46 PM

He has a fantastic ass, so it'd be heartwarming to know a gay man has serviced it at some point.

by Anonymousreply 69October 8, 2021 4:55 PM

He starred in that Amazon mini series about his missing daughter. His British accent SUCKED and he was supposed to be having an affair with the Police woman. They conveyed NO compassion towards each other at all. I don't care how straight he says he is or how many kids he's had with his wife- My gaydar says 100 percent GAY.

by Anonymousreply 70October 8, 2021 5:05 PM

So women can be experimental and be straight but make out with women at parties and watch lesbian porn and that’s ok. If this was a woman saying the same exact things he did, people would get it.

But if it’s a man so he’s gay and closeted.

I totally understand and believe him. You can be 90% straight.

by Anonymousreply 71October 8, 2021 5:09 PM

Is Jennifer carpenter in the new Dexter?

by Anonymousreply 72October 8, 2021 5:26 PM

His boyfriend on Six Feet Under was hot. Did he disappear?

by Anonymousreply 73October 8, 2021 5:32 PM

Random actor: I'm straight. / DL: That's a lie, he's totally gay!

Random actor: I'm not really straight. / DL: That's a lie, he's just pandering!

Facts

by Anonymousreply 75October 8, 2021 6:31 PM
He's been married to women three times. What's he talking about?

Exactly

by Anonymousreply 76October 8, 2021 7:00 PM

Between the trannies and the pseudo-homos, gay men just can't get a break. It is so exhausting and discriminatory.

by Anonymousreply 77October 8, 2021 7:12 PM

R77, it's Republicans like you who are responsible for homophobia, not "trannies"

Ultra conservatives want to use the Supreme Court to overturn Lawrence v Texas

by Anonymousreply 78October 8, 2021 7:14 PM

R61, actual straight guys don't want to be seen as "not a real man"

He isn't straight

by Anonymousreply 79October 8, 2021 7:15 PM

R57, meanwhile, on planet earth, most actors who are gay or bi hide it. People aren't as "woke" as you want to believe, women are more like to identify as LGBT than men, men don't want to be seen as anything other than hetero

by Anonymousreply 80October 8, 2021 7:16 PM

Shut up r79. You’re annoying dude

by Anonymousreply 81October 8, 2021 7:16 PM

R48, why do you think women are more likely to come out as bi than men? Straight guys think being anything other than straight means they're "not a real man" - and that's not just in Alabama

by Anonymousreply 82October 8, 2021 7:18 PM

Really, we called this out during SFU.

So, STFU, r77, r79, et, al...

by Anonymousreply 83October 8, 2021 7:18 PM

The boss (or King?) of DL has spoken. 🙄

by Anonymousreply 84October 8, 2021 7:18 PM

Not some dumbfuck, cunt fangurl, that's for sure. And you are gone, et. al!

by Anonymousreply 85October 8, 2021 7:20 PM

Shut your piehole r84

by Anonymousreply 86October 8, 2021 7:26 PM

Or what, tough guy? 😅

by Anonymousreply 87October 8, 2021 7:28 PM
Another gay baiter

Nope, just another gay actor pretending to be "mostly straight." "Gay baiting" is a hell of a lot more popular on DL than it is in real life.

by Anonymousreply 88October 8, 2021 7:34 PM

A lot of DLers live in an alternate reality and make up their own 'facts'.

See: R45. Still waiting on links to those studies.

by Anonymousreply 89October 8, 2021 7:37 PM

R79 except if he’s an actor who recognizes how identity politics is playing out in his profession, determining who can play what, or be cancelled. He wasn’t all that clear about what he is, he actually never clearly stated that he has sought men out for whatever kind of satisfaction. He describes it more like some sort of mental exercise than reality on his behavior, which reads like pandering.

by Anonymousreply 90October 8, 2021 7:53 PM
His boyfriend on Six Feet Under was hot. Did he disappear?

Matthew St. Patrick. HAF. Hasn't been in much lately, which is sad, because he's got talent.

by Anonymousreply 91October 8, 2021 7:58 PM
I don't care how straight he says he is or how many kids he's had with his wife.

It appears that he may be childfree, which would only score him cool points in my book. 3 wives and no kids with any of them. Another thing celebrities should speak out about. Many have been, more should follow suit. I hope MCH doesn't become one of those 50+ dads.

by Anonymousreply 92October 8, 2021 8:27 PM

I worked at Sunset-Gower studios back when SFU was in production there. My parking space was right next to where Claire's green hearse was kept.

I ran into MCH at Crunch during that time, introduced myself and told him that. He giggled and blushed like a schoolgirl. turning beet red.

Given everything we know about him, I'd be willing to bet he's 100% gay. Why he stays in the closet with a procession of childless marriages is anyone's guess.

by Anonymousreply 93October 8, 2021 8:37 PM

He's bi.

by Anonymousreply 94October 8, 2021 8:42 PM

Translation: No one can complain if I get cast in gay roles.

by Anonymousreply 95October 8, 2021 8:43 PM

R92, why do you hate children? Being a parent is a great thing

by Anonymousreply 96October 8, 2021 8:47 PM

r96 I don't hate children, nor do I dispute that being a parent is a great thing for some people. It simply isn't for everyone.

by Anonymousreply 97October 8, 2021 8:49 PM

A truly committed closet-case probably would have reproduced to complete the deception.

by Anonymousreply 98October 8, 2021 8:50 PM

who is this odd gaslighter? over mch? wtf? get a life.

by Anonymousreply 99October 8, 2021 8:52 PM

Who is the weirdo promoting parenting on DL?

by Anonymousreply 100October 8, 2021 8:54 PM

R98, or maybe MCH just doesn't give a shit and he's just living his life

by Anonymousreply 101October 8, 2021 8:54 PM

Of all the parts Michael C Hall ever played his gay character on Six Feet Under he seemed to be his most authentic self.

by Anonymousreply 102October 8, 2021 8:57 PM

I agree. I couldn't tell where MCH ended and David began. Whereas with Dexter, where he did a great job, he was obviously stepping into character.

by Anonymousreply 103October 8, 2021 9:01 PM

Sorry. I made a mistake the mini series Michael C Hall appeared in SAFE was on Netflix not Amazon.

by Anonymousreply 104October 8, 2021 9:06 PM

It just seems odd to hear a 50 year old man sprouting concepts that used to be seen as cute when first year drama students said them.

by Anonymousreply 105October 8, 2021 9:29 PM

maybe something is coming out.

by Anonymousreply 106October 8, 2021 9:58 PM

Michael C. Hall has had quite a post Six Feet Under career. But WHET his hot black cop boyfriend?

by Anonymousreply 107October 8, 2021 10:04 PM

R82 Because women are too homophobic to accept being with a man who’s not 100% straight. Men think bisexual or experimental women are hot. Women do not find bisexual or experimental men hot.

by Anonymousreply 108October 8, 2021 11:07 PM

R108 And if women found bisexual men hot, more men would be bisexual.

by Anonymousreply 109October 8, 2021 11:08 PM

“Mostly straight” = Bottom.

by Anonymousreply 110October 8, 2021 11:09 PM

Nothing is hotter to straight men than two hot chicks going at it.

by Anonymousreply 111October 8, 2021 11:24 PM

I think a lot of women and gay men will have a fuck buddy relationship with bisexual guys, anything long-term adds another level of complication. It's not worth the extra hassle.

by Anonymousreply 112October 8, 2021 11:33 PM

“I’m not saying that I am totally heterosexual, but I don’t think that I’ll ever sleep with a man, although I won’t take it off the table. Labels offend me even though I identify as heterosexual as utilize my straight male privilege to the nth degree. I’m not saying that I am gay or straight. Even though I’m not.”

He’s full of it. That’s all…

by Anonymousreply 113October 9, 2021 1:49 AM

R112. why? You are assuming bisexual men are promiscuous and 'can't keep it in their pants' and that is not necessarily the case. A bisexual person means that they can be in a committed relationship with a woman or with a man; just like a gay person or a het.

by Anonymousreply 114October 9, 2021 1:25 PM
Women do not find bisexual or experimental men hot

That's not true

by Anonymousreply 115October 9, 2021 1:26 PM

Exactly. I know women who are open to a certain type of bi dude

by Anonymousreply 116October 9, 2021 2:57 PM

Most women are not open to dating bisexual men. It is only a tiny fraction of women whom are frau and bisexual women who are open to dating men that are bi. Fraus will end up dating any man who will have them especially the very average looking women. Bisexuality women are open to their man sucking off another man.

by Anonymousreply 117October 9, 2021 9:15 PM

Shut up r117

by Anonymousreply 118October 9, 2021 9:23 PM

⬆️ The cold hard truth hurts for some people.

by Anonymousreply 119October 9, 2021 9:27 PM

R118. That altitude is why straight women aren't fucking with your dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 120October 10, 2021 1:51 PM

R115 You must be a woman who believes women are the less judgmental sex.

The only studies out there show women don’t like bisexual men.

by Anonymousreply 121October 10, 2021 3:10 PM

R117 Right. There’s women who like to piss on people and get fisted, doesn’t mean women are more sexually open to kink than men.

by Anonymousreply 122October 10, 2021 3:12 PM
I’ve never had an intimate relationship with a man.

The ONLY relevant sentence. So gaybaiting bullshit.

by Anonymousreply 123October 10, 2021 3:15 PM

American women are less likely to be with bisexual men than women from other countries. YMMV.

by Anonymousreply 124October 10, 2021 3:18 PM

R25 Yes, you are one of those people.

by Anonymousreply 125October 10, 2021 3:21 PM

Plenty of women are cool with it now

Many Millennials say they are uncomfortable with the idea of dating a partner who is bisexual, transgender, or gender non-conforming.

This generation is more open to the idea of dating someone that fits the description than previous ones, but not everyone is comfortable with this idea.

Just over four in 10 (43%) Millennials would be comfortable with a bisexual partner, but a nearly-equal number (40%) say it would make them uncomfortable. By contrast, 37% of Gen Xers and just under a quarter of Baby Boomers would be amenable to having a bisexual partner. Women (28%) also tend to be less comfortable than men (38%) with the idea of a bisexual partner.

by Anonymousreply 126October 10, 2021 3:22 PM

Or he's lying, R123. Michael C. Hall doesn't give two fucks about "gaybaiting."

by Anonymousreply 127October 10, 2021 4:37 PM

R126 you got to categorize the millennial generation. Older millennial like myself are very less likely to be open to dating bisexual men in comparison to younger millennials and zoomers.

by Anonymousreply 128October 10, 2021 5:40 PM

Zoomers are gonna be so open

by Anonymousreply 129October 10, 2021 8:50 PM

Michael C Hall has been saying this for years and years. Since the six feet under days.

by Anonymousreply 130October 10, 2021 9:00 PM

R121, no, I just believe bisexual men are sexier and more interesting partners

by Anonymousreply 131October 10, 2021 9:14 PM

R126 The millennial stat includes men. And it still shows women are less comfortable with the idea than men.

by Anonymousreply 132October 10, 2021 9:25 PM

Less comfortable doesn’t mean that bi dudes don’t find women to date them. I know multiple bi or mostly straight dudes who are open about male attraction or past involvement, yet have no time pulling hot chicks

by Anonymousreply 133October 11, 2021 1:00 AM
Six Feet Under is one of the greatest tv series ever.

Criminally underrated. I always look at those "top TV shows of all time" lists and most don't put it where it deserves to be. Up there in the top 5 with contemporaries like The Sopranos and The Wire.

by Anonymousreply 134October 11, 2021 1:09 AM

R134, I agree but I think the pace of it was too European and too introspective for an American audience.

by Anonymousreply 135October 11, 2021 2:07 AM

SFU was too esoteric for the average dumb fuck.

by Anonymousreply 136October 11, 2021 7:03 AM

It was a show for the elite not the masses

Six Feet Under was great when it was good, but the quality definitely varied during its run.

by Anonymousreply 138October 11, 2021 1:39 PM

I watched it in its original run as a young'un. It was like a weekly meditation.

by Anonymousreply 139October 12, 2021 3:36 AM

r138 Because the main characters were all unlikable?

by Anonymousreply 140October 12, 2021 5:39 AM

He gave an almost this exact same interview a few years ago - there was a DL thread on it and I just assumed someone posted the old interview but no - different interview but almost identical. Not sure what prompted him to bring it up again - does he have some new role coming up? It would be great if he actually were like sexually attracted to men but if you parse his statements, it seems more like he has some weird daddy issues that he thinks made it difficult for him to have deep friendships with men - almost a freudian take. Where it goes off the deep end and borders on homophobic is where he suddenly conflates that with being gay or having same sex attractions. He seems to think that these daddy issues should have triggered some level of homosexuality in him and he almost sounds jealous that it didn't because he has seems to have these simplistic almost idealized view of homosexuality and he somehow hopes that he could develop sexual attractions to men in the future even though he states very clearly he hasnt had them yet or thinks he will soon. Sounds similar to the BS that the new Gossip Girl "bi" guy was spouting.
Not sure what prompted him to bring it up again - does he have some new role coming up?

DEXTER is returning as a limited series.

by Anonymousreply 142October 14, 2021 7:59 PM

I never saw Dexter - was he gay in that like SFU?

by Anonymousreply 143October 14, 2021 8:05 PM

I don't think so. Daniel Craig isn't playing gay in the Bond movies but he's still coming up with clickbait in that vein.

by Anonymousreply 144October 14, 2021 8:12 PM

R143 Dexter was straight. But there was a whole closeted subtext to the character/show since he was in the closet, just not about being gay.

by Anonymousreply 145October 16, 2021 4:11 AM

r144 really? whats he doing?

by Anonymousreply 146October 22, 2021 6:18 AM

How did you miss the stories about him hoping to gay bars? It’s everywhere

by Anonymousreply 147October 22, 2021 10:09 AM

He's only being honest. A significantly higher number of men, and even women, have been involved in some form of same sex sexual activity in their lives. Europeans are much more open to same sex activity, especially when they are younger.

by Anonymousreply 148October 22, 2021 10:47 AM

"Europeans are much"

Yes, they are.

by Anonymousreply 149October 22, 2021 10:50 AM

I love how gays used to be all about the sexual revolution and pushing boundaries but now if a mostly heterosexual guy admits to being flexible, he gets dragged as a baiter, panderer, and/or secretly gay.

We’ve gone full circle to being as rigid and harsh as the people and roles we escaped when we first left our closets.

by Anonymousreply 150October 22, 2021 10:53 AM
How did you miss the stories about him hoping to gay bars? It’s everywhere

He was probably doing research for a role 🙄

by Anonymousreply 151October 22, 2021 11:21 AM
if a mostly heterosexual guy admits to being flexible, he gets dragged as a baiter, panderer, and/or secretly gay.

He gets even more squeeing, so cry me a river.

by Anonymousreply 152October 22, 2021 3:21 PM

“ I love how gays used to be all about the sexual revolution and pushing boundaries but now if a mostly heterosexual guy admits to being flexible, he gets dragged as a baiter, panderer, and/or secretly gay.”

Only amongst the whiney, chronically upset activist types who for some reason, think they have to police LGB identity. A lot of them are old school gays. Others are people who dislike bisexuals and mostly straight guys for some weird reason. At any rate, they are tired

by Anonymousreply 153October 22, 2021 3:25 PM

I’m tired of the attempts at sounding edgy and hip with the “I’m heterosexual but I won’t rule out a same sex attraction even though I wouldn’t dream of acting out on it…so in the meantime, I will make a semi-outlandish, yet nebulous statement about sex. The public will eat it up because I’m a fucking celebrity, bitches!”.

It’s maddening and boring at the same time.

by Anonymousreply 154October 22, 2021 3:50 PM

For you. Ignore it if you think that. Others disagree with you

by Anonymousreply 155October 22, 2021 4:04 PM

And I disagree with them r155.

by Anonymousreply 156October 22, 2021 4:05 PM

Whatever - the problem with gen z or whatever they are called now is that they can say identify as non-heterosexual or whatever ideologically or politically or even socially but for men anyway, they aren't having more sexual much less romantic same sex encounters/relationships than prior cohorts (women are all over the map but they usually end of with men after young adulthood). Actually, they aren't much sex at all - even heterosexual - for various reasons but despite all the claims about sexual liberation, they seem to be more repressed than ever. But it takes some of the stigma away so that is a good thing but these actors giving obtuse interviews is annoying as fuck...

by Anonymousreply 157October 23, 2021 4:51 AM

r157 here - meant "much more" not "much less" damn datalounge - I pay the damn $2 a month so Muriel can afford to update the software to allow editing!

by Anonymousreply 158October 23, 2021 4:53 AM

R157, so? Why are you invested in their sexual behavior? I prefer identity as a priority

by Anonymousreply 159October 23, 2021 12:59 PM

Has he gotten his dick sucked by a guy?

by Anonymousreply 160October 23, 2021 1:02 PM

R160 You mean today?

by Anonymousreply 161October 23, 2021 9:25 PM

dude been gay since escape from placenta.

by Anonymousreply 162October 23, 2021 10:23 PM

Michael C. Hall Does the 'C.' stand for COCK?

by Anonymousreply 163November 3, 2021 6:45 AM
Has he gotten his dick sucked by a guy?

Regularly.

by Anonymousreply 164November 3, 2021 6:47 AM

Bump

by Anonymousreply 165November 3, 2021 12:33 PM

The new season starts this Sunday, doesn't it? Too bad I don't have Showtime.

by Anonymousreply 166November 5, 2021 2:52 PM

Watch it on one of the pirate sites r166

by Anonymousreply 167November 5, 2021 2:53 PM

If he's drunk, he might let you suck him.

That's about it.

by Anonymousreply 168November 5, 2021 2:55 PM

Thou shalt not steal

by Anonymousreply 169November 5, 2021 2:55 PM
Translation: Mostly Gay

I see it more as gay baiting actually. He’s always been in hetero relationships but he was a strong gay following because he’s handsome and played gay. So I don’t see it as such a terrible thing that he’s claiming occasional homo attraction. It might even be true.

by Anonymousreply 170November 5, 2021 2:56 PM

^^^ he has

by Anonymousreply 171November 5, 2021 2:56 PM

Michael C Hall has a strong gay following? That's news to me.

by Anonymousreply 172November 5, 2021 2:59 PM
It’s maddening and boring at the same time.

Agree. Is it useful to ask celebrities to get into this? It's not a bad answer. Sexuality is a spectrum, craves male intimacy. Sounds still straight.

by Anonymousreply 173November 5, 2021 3:42 PM

I love mostly straight guys. I’ve noticed more men describe themselves as mostly straight. It’s a very good sign

by Anonymousreply 174November 5, 2021 4:16 PM

You've never had a LTR, have you.

by Anonymousreply 175November 5, 2021 4:18 PM

mostly straight means an open mind. Open minds are good!

by Anonymousreply 176November 5, 2021 4:23 PM

Sure, hon. You won't be saying that when he chooses a woman (and their kids) over you.

by Anonymousreply 177November 5, 2021 4:25 PM

I want to discuss Michael C Hall's straight fluids.

by Anonymousreply 178November 5, 2021 4:26 PM

r172 6 Feet Under had a significant gay following. Many gay men at the time enjoyed Hall's performance and found it true to life, and that the show overall did a good job representing the gay community. Whether Hall continued to have a gay following beyond the show is unknown to me.

by Anonymousreply 179November 5, 2021 10:28 PM

R175, yes, with females

by Anonymousreply 180November 5, 2021 10:45 PM

R177, I don’t catch feelings for dudes. Just mess around

by Anonymousreply 181November 5, 2021 10:45 PM
I agree but I think the pace of it was too European and too introspective for an American audience.

Agreed, r135. Posted in the other thread about the greatest TV shows:

[italic]The Reason Six Feet Under doesn't appear in many media all-time lists is because it has an independent movie aesthetic rather than the high-suspense, high production values of a GoT or even Breaking Bad and the Sopranos. It's more driven by its people-centred sensibility than the story.[/italic]

It's like those '90s and early '00s indie films that Parker Posey used to star in. The ones that Harvey Weinstein's (horrid man, excellent taste) Miramax built its reputation on and you would see at festivals like Sundance. Think low budget movies like 'The Brothers McMullen', 'The Station Agent' or 'Chasing Amy'. They never achieved mainstream success, but had strong indie cult followings.

by Anonymousreply 182November 7, 2021 10:39 AM

I never thought Michael C Hall was cute. Perhaps, he will fuck anything he can get.

by Anonymousreply 183November 7, 2021 11:09 AM

The only time I thought he looked good was on the Dexter season 2 poster where he's smiling.

by Anonymousreply 184November 7, 2021 7:30 PM

Sometimes I get tired just how shallow most gays are. It's not about his looks.
