This just came up on YouTube recommendations and I had completely forgotten this song existed. It always seemed strange to me how Furtado just turns up in this song, like she wasn't meant to be there and was a late addition.
I find Timbaland really obnoxious as a personality, but I can't deny that he is responsible for some catchy songs (often stolen from others, which I think is why I find him objectionable in some ways). This could also be because this stuff was always being played during my formative years (nostalgia), and these days I think: "whatever happened to melody?" a lot.

r194, the Beach Boys albums through Pet Sounds sound much better in mono. Brian Wilson is deaf in one ear, and that is the way he mixed them. Those early albums sound so shrill in stereo. Many were mastered from the original mono tracks in a fake stereo called Duophonic, and those albums sound the worst.
I also prefer most Beatles albums in mono.

[quote]MONO? Really?
Just adding my voice to the supporters of mono audio for those early albums by The Beatles and The Beach Boys. Stereo vinyl was a new innovation at the time and most people only had mono record players and radio was only mono (FM didn't exist). The most effort was put into getting the mob mix "right" and it was often left to the assistant engineer to cobble together a stereo mix after everyone else had gone home.

Yesterday was the fifth anniversary of Greg Lake's death. This one of those songs that gets played every Christmas in the UK. Seems funny that in a state where Christianity is the official religion, a song about doubting the Nativity is considered a Christmas classic:

They sold me a silent night
They told me a fairy story
Till I believed in the Israelite..."

They often have filler material.
Give us the better half of an album so we don't have to search thru the bad material.

If we wanted to listen to entire albums then we wouldn't be on the DL to begin with.

I'm listening to this hot hillbilly talk about some fat chick cheating on him. And I'm thinking about how sad it is that he isn't benefiting from all the "gay for pay" dollars he could be putting in his bank account...

A lot of lesser-known songs, B-sides, and covers here.
I've been revisiting a mainstream song by Sia, a live performance. Unlike "Chandelier", it still feels fresh to me.

R442 thanks for the nod to Aaliyah. She is much missed by me. She had loads of promise.
And More More & More What a classic!
As to the Springsteen covers Lovin' em. WTH to infinity. Are people pissed off that he sold out totally w. selling his whole body of work? Those covers were a real FU to him. He does deserve it, of course, Repeat after me. Total Sell Out Douchebag. Dyed hair, face work, Blech & even more Blech! Anyone who still calls him the Boss is an idiot. As a native born New Jerseyian for me, he was the Man. Then he married White Bread Patty & she sucked out any soul he had. White Bread Jersey girls are notorious for that shit. Could float that as an excuse, but he should have known better. Way better.
Well, need to cleanse my palette after discussing gross Bruce A little Donna for me.

I was assessing a Robbie Soave video for gayvoice. I don't think he has it. He could be gay, but why would someone go to the trouble of dragging some poor woman into a '50s farce marriage in the 21st century?
