In defense of Ms. Degeneres, I was in the audience of her sitcom in the nineties and she was a great ACTRESS!

Nobody talks about her acting, but sitcom acting is a specific skill. She was funny, always on point and hit her marks every time. No time was wasted and it was as entertaining as watching it on TV.

It was "Not So Great Expectations" with Trisha Yearwood and Lyle Waggoner and is a funny episode.

I think Degeneres has always been an alcoholic and it's just getting more difficult to hide it well anymore. Maybe she'll get sober at some point. She seems like a bit of a sadist though, so a mean drunk. She probably needs a lot of counseling, too.

I must say, though, I do like some of the older lesbians who just let people have it who deserve it. I think straight women worry more about seeming demure or quiet or some such shit because that's what straight men want but cranky old lesbians are great.

Watch a movie called Cloudburst with Olympia Dukakis playing a cranky old lesbian trying to smuggle her wife across the border away from her kids that want to put her in a home and hilariously swearing up a storm throughout. Great movie no one has seen! I also love Rosie. She gives shit to all the right people. Another one is Hannah Gadsby who did the Nanette and Douglas traumedy specials on Netflix. If you haven't watched them, give them a look.

I like Rosie now, but her early days on her talk show were cringey.

Her best acting ever is in the upcoming "American Gigolo" on Showtime. The people I saw it with didn't even realize it was her until halfway through the episode.
