My old one was fast. What gives? Can’t even stream videos without them being super low quality. Everything is so slow. Fuck!
I wish I could keep the old one, but Spectrum said they will interrupt my service if I did.

What speed does your plan call for?

R1
It’s supposed to be “ultimate 100”, but I’m getting less than 1 mbps download speed. So something is very wrong.

How can they MAKE you change your modem and router? I have Cablevision aka Optimum (Altice). I have their old modem and my new router. They wanted me to change to their router, better yet new Altice crap, and I said NO. Everything works great.

Have you complained to customer service? I have a different provider and when my speed was much slower than my plan called for, the rep had me run a speed test while I was on the phone with him. When the results were much lower than they should have been, he agreed to send me a new modem (which worked as it should).

A few possibilities: * The new modem hasn't been set to give you the right tier of service (they can check it remotely, reset it) * Your computer's internet settings are set manually and need to be put back to automatic (e.g. bad DNS settings using the wrong servers) * Try test-ipv6.com and ipv6-test.com to make sure nothing is wrong there

Just buy your own so you don't have to pay a monthly rental charge.
