Seriously! I just think I look better with hair-I've shaved bald before, but felt instantly older and less attractive. I can barely cope.
Help Me Deal With Losing My Hair!

Count your blessings, asshole. I got shortchanged in the dick department. Wanna trade?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 3, 2021 10:21 PM |
Take Propecia. I started taking it at the first sign of hairloss 10 years ago and still have all my hair, as opposed to my brothers and fathers who are bald. They are all jealous of me now and they wish they did what I did.
I really don’t get why men freak out about balding when we have as close to a cure to it as we ever will with Propecia.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 3, 2021 10:25 PM |
Well R1, OP gets judged immediately. You at least have to wait until your pants come off before being judged.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 3, 2021 10:25 PM |
Propecia transitioned me. I stopped taking it.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 3, 2021 10:25 PM |
Just be bald. It’s hot.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 3, 2021 10:27 PM |
R2 any side effects?

Modern transplants are a good option.

Start wearing Little Steven do-rags and let them be your personal style.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 3, 2021 10:35 PM |
R6 Nope!
The side effects people complain about are greatly exaggerated. I myself was nervous before taking it. I think any medication that says that impotence is a side effect scares men off asap.
However I read a lot of medical reports on it. It is all online. ED was found in less than 2% of men who took it. That was a risk I was willing to take; after all, I was 22 when I started losing my hair. I wasn’t going to go through my 20s bald.
And remember, a lot of men who take Propecia are older, and as such probably have issues with lower libido anyway. I knew a 60 year old man who said it gave him ED - and he was only on it after a week! Sorry Gramps, but I am not buying it.
There is a very very small subset of men online (who are vocal) who claim that Propecia made them impotent even after they stopped taking it. I don’t buy that at all. That totally isn’t how half life in medicine works. If you stop taking it and it is out your system, then it is out your system. When I was researching Propecia those comments really scared me; one guy said he only handled the pills and had ED. And then, I realized it was all a load of crap by insecure men.
Go for it, OP. I know that for me, if I was bald, it would have really hurt my confidence. Take Propecia and after 6 months you feel there are bad side effects then get off it. Simple as that.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 3, 2021 10:38 PM |
OP, can’t help but think you have a big dick. If you do, understand that hair loss and big ducks can go hand in hand.

Well I would say being an egghead is working out for Pep but hmmmmmmm...it’s really not!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 3, 2021 10:46 PM |
OP, don’t listen to that quack at R14. If sunshine stopped balding then no one would ever be bald.
Don’t fall for any herbal crap, any vitamins, magic lasers, or anything else. And no, you are not losing hair from stress. If that was the case every major world leader and CEO would be bald.
You sre losing hair due to DHT. Propecia stops the DHT production and thus stops hair loss. It was one of only two FDA approved treatments . The other, Monoxdril aka Rogaine, helps regrow lost hair, but doesn’t actually stop it. If you want to keep what you have, you need Propecia. Any hair gained with Rogaine will just fall out again. Only use Rogaine with Propecia and only if you really need new growth. Rogaine is a pain in the ass because you need to use it every night.
And don’t listen to these guys saying how hot it is to be bald. The men who are bald and hot would be hot regardless. For every one hot bald guy, there are 10 more who are not.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 3, 2021 10:52 PM |
I had to shave off mine.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 3, 2021 10:58 PM |
OP, if you can find a pharmacological solution (like Propecia) that you're comfortable with, then use it.
If not, fuck it. Men worry too much about hair loss, which affects most of us. By 50, about 85% of men have lost significant amounts of hair. (Google it if you doubt it.) Hollywood and the media enforce a false standard when, in truth, many actors wear hairpieces or have had some sort of cosmetic intervention. Straight women, unfortunately, buy into this false standard and often shame men for hair loss when it's inevitable.
I actually think most gay guys have a healthier perspective on hair loss than straights do. A hot man doesn't need a headful of hair to be hot.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 3, 2021 10:59 PM |
HA. I had no ED but could not cum. Hell no. I was after a week or so too. Then things went back to normal quickly.
That 2 percent is real baldy @ 20.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 3, 2021 11:06 PM |
Sounds like Propecia is at least worth a try. You can stop if you get bad side effects.

Dutasteride (Avodart in the States) is considerably more effective than Propecia (finasteride) and has a much longer serum life. Both drugs are DHT blockers originally developed to treat prostatic hyperplasia.

Agreed! Sunlight never cured anyone of balding. You need to rub a dollop of mayonnaise into your head before you go to sleep.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 3, 2021 11:48 PM |
R23 I did think about suggesting Avodart to OP as well, but I figured since Propecia is better known and what I have experience with, to go with that. I am considering switching to Avodart myself eventually.
R24 You would be surprised how many men freak out about hair loss and yet are too chicken shit to even try Propecia. And while yes, I know it is odd that I keep coming back to this thread to try and get OP to take Propecia, but that is just because it really did help me so much. I want all men who experience hair loss to take it because it really does work.

I shaved mine a few years ago, and it nearly gave me a full-on anxiety attack. I knew the day was coming, but it's still a shock to see yourself that way for the first time. The thought of my co-workers seeing me like that made me so anxious, I took a leave of absence from work. After about a week, I said, "Fuck it," and went in, pretending I was super confident about it, even though I was terrified. I definitely got a few looks of shock, one person even asked me if I was sick (lol), but two people actually said I looked better. And oddly enough, it was two people I secretly didn't like.
Yes, some people prefer men with hair. But some like the bald look. It took me probably a year or two before I could catch myself in the mirror and not be startled by this bald man staring back at me. Now, I kind of love it. No more haircuts, no more anxiety about people looking at my bald spot, no more avoiding going outside when it's windy or raining, etc. It's actually pretty liberating.
Truthfully, nobody really gives a fuck about what your hair looks like. It's all internal. You just have to get good without yourself and how you look. One day I had a beard sort of coming in, and took a look at myself after a fresh head shave, and thought, "I can work with this." My advice is to look in the mirror as much as possible, so you can get used to the change as quickly as possible, and finally, hopefully, start to appreciate your new look. You might be surprised by the men you attract once you do.

Minoxidil 5 percent Liquid comes with a dropper to apply the liquid to the the crown of your head.
Finasteride: prescribed pill taken with water everyday. 5mg pill that you must cut into quarters. You only take a quarter of the pill each day.
I have been taking both Minoxidil and Finasteride for years and have not had any bad side effects ever,
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 4, 2021 12:25 AM |
I tried propecia but I was one of the few it gave sexual side effects to. While I still got hard, it wasn’t as hard as normal and it made my cock feel weird. I actually stayed hard longer because of it but the pleasure was blunted.
Even worse, my partner said it made me really mean and catty. So I stopped it after about two months.
I just use Rogaine which has done wonders with letting me keep the hair I have
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 4, 2021 12:26 AM |
Several companies now offer a liquid finasteride + minoxidil combo.
If you've had side effects with the pill version of finasteride/Propecia, you might want to try it.

Anyone on blood pressure meds switch to oral Minoxidil? If so, did you gain weight or have any other side effects. I am on Lisinopril(which makes me cough while lying down) and thought swapping to Minoxdil would lower my blood pressure and keep the hair on top of my head, too. A two for one deal. Any thoughts?
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 4, 2021 1:30 AM |
I took oral minoxidil and it gave me chest pain. Also my face bloated. I grew no hair.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 4, 2021 1:36 AM |
I don't want that. I did try liquid Minoxidil and had a bad experience(Hives and ear swelling for two weeks). Supposedly, topical foam won't cause reactions, but? Thanks, for the response Reply 36
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 4, 2021 2:11 AM |
I grew body hair only on oral minoxidil. It grew darker and more coarse. I also grew hair on my upper cheeks. Not one strand on my head.

Finasteride will shrivel your dick a bit and dutasteride will shrivel your dick a bit more by lessening their temperature (if you don't believe me, I suggest you scholar google it), so, please, know what you're in here for. I've known it for sure when I stopped dutasteride for a year and after a couple of weeks my dick started to swell for no reason at all for four days, and I loved every second of it, but then six months later my hair started to fall again like it never did before. You know what? Priorities, priorities.... Mine was my hair, but if you want to penisly impress someone with a swollen cock, off with fin and dut-asteride.

by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 4, 2021 3:08 AM |
An anti depressent i took gave me ringing in the ears , i thought it would go away when i quit taking the med ,it didnt and its been ten yrs since i took it. A med lawsuit in those type cases are hard to bring to court. Got no money ,no apology from the filthy drug co. That made it . Take meds at your own risk. The hair transplants look pretty good.

I had a good set of hair in my 20s (not the thickest, but fairly thick). I started to really notice the thinning in my early 40s (which had obviously been occurring throughout my 30s), but didn't do anything about it, as it wasn't a priority. I am in my late 40s now. I still have a decent set of hair, but it's obviously not what it once was on my crown (with some receding in the hairline).
One year ago, I put the cart before the horse and signed onto a programme involving a low-grade form of topical Minoxidil (1 mL @ 2 applications/day). After nine months, I was getting nowhere. Hair was falling out with no regrowth. I went to my doctor and got a prescription of finasteride (Propecia) after doing some reading online. Since I started, I have noticed that my hair just isn't falling out at the rate it was before since I started finasteride, so I believe that is working to prevent hair loss.
I also switched to a topical 7% Minoxidil with Retinoic Acid (2 mL @ 1 application/day) formula a month ago with another company (which included finasteride in their programme, as well as Saw Palmetto vitamins). I don't know if this new form of Minoxidil will work for me, but I locked myself in for a year (the company has a money-back guarantee in their contract, which will hopefully be true if I don't experience regrowth). At the end of the year, regardless, I will likely continue with the finasteride. R2 has provided sound advice. It stops hair loss.
As far as side-effects from the finasteride, I haven't noticed anything major. I am also not taking any other pharmaceuticals. Minor side-effects? Maybe there is a slight delay in ejaculation, as well as perhaps a slight reduction in quantity, since I started the finasteride (which is partly attributable to my age), but I can still maintain an erection and cum. My orgasms are similar or equal to in quality overall (as far as I can remember). I haven't noticed any "dick shrivelling" per above, but as you can see from the responses, everyone is different.
If you have the money, there are minimal risks, so my advice is for you to try it for a few weeks. If all goes well, remain on it for months to see what kind of results you get. And go from there. Good luck! :)

Does Propecia help stop receding hairline ? I was told it only works for Male pattern baldness.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 4, 2021 4:07 AM |
R47 None of the drugs save or help the hairline. People usually take the drugs for the crown area, and get plugs in the front.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 4, 2021 11:09 AM |
OP, to lose a little hair is understandable, but to lose all of it seems like carelessness.

by Anonymous | reply 50 | October 4, 2021 2:21 PM |
R29 Stress and immune system issues do not cause hairloss in the vast majority of men. Male pattern baldness is caused by your body making too much DHT. Sun won’t do shit for that. Stop with the old wives tales.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 4, 2021 2:25 PM |
R47 Yes, it does. It was only approved under MPB, but it also works for a receding hairline because the cause is the same: build up of DHT.
And as for the people saying to get a transplant. Unless OP takes Propecia after the transplant the hair will still fall off.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 4, 2021 2:29 PM |
Receding hair in the front is normal and natural for nearly all men. When men put plugs in there, it's obvious.
