He was known for playing such parts, so it surprised me as well when he started playing leading man roles.

I have never understood the Bradley Cooper fandom.

An average actor. An average face. Nothing remarkable about him. But he has been very lucky in his career, apparently willing to do whatever it takes/fuck whoever is necessary to get ahead.

I was rather neutral about him until that duet with Lady Gaga at the Oscars a few years ago. That whole short-lived showmance with Lady Gaga really turned me off.

I fell in love with him after seeing the first Hangover. I had to go back and watch everything he ever did, and I now own many of his movies on DVD and always manage to see his films when they are first released. I even saw him on Broadway in The Elephant Man and was lucky enough to get a photo with him after the performance (he took my phone to snap the pic and I could have keeled over right there).

R21 I watched the real life Grammy performance and I wanted to gouge my eyeballs out. I could not stand they way Gaga and Cooper gazed at each other intently. So disingenuous and corny. The critics sure did jizz themselves over the film's depiction of rural white culture. I'm glad that movie has been basically forgotten.

I'm no fan of either Cooper or "Shallow".

Usually, for me, when it comes to corny power ballads (which is what "Shallow" is) the more melodrama the better, but for whatever reason, I just don't care for that song.

Still, the reactions to the Shallow performances by Cooper and Gaga at awards shows puzzles me. Iirc, I saw was at the Oscars one.

Seriously, about 10 seconds in, if that , I thought "Oh, they're in character to perform this song", ignored it, and patiently waited for it to be over.

Bradley Cooper has been nominated for 4 acting Oscars in total since Silver Linings. That's pretty good. His films have done good box office. He can also act. He is great in A Star is born and American Hustle. Very different roles. He stretches himself. I don't find it that weird he is a star.

Also I know a female that had sex with Leo. Maybe she is lying and was paid too? Maybe he is bisexual? Maybe. But more likely not. I believe Cooper is gay and closeted. Leo I do not. And I don't believe Cooper slept with everyone either.
