Kayvan Novak is very sexy and extremely talented. He's more well known in the UK than in the US, he's been a comedic actor for years.
IIRC, Kayvan had a couple of hit shows in the UK and of course, he was one of the stars of the 'Four Lions' film. His Fonejacker character was very popular.

Is Colin Robinson really DEAD?
Energy vampires are supposed to die when they reach 100 years.
Why didn't one of the other vampires simply bite him, so he could live?

Hope the Colin character is somehow revived. They brought the Count back, why not Colin.

I love Colin. He's one of my favorite characters and I can't even believe I'm saying that, he's delightfully annoying. The character has a deadpan face, yet he still conveys so much.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 22, 2021 8:38 PM |
I read an interview with the actor Mark Proksch which stated they told him in advance his character, Colin Robinson, would die this season. Unfortunately, that sounds kind of final, but it could simply be another way to make sure the fans keep watching the series next season.
Another forum stated Colin is in the Season Finale next week?!!
On the other hand, Colin dying would also explain why Kristen Schaal, as The Vampiric Council Guide, has been in several episodes this season. If Colin is gone, she might become a regular.

A perfect show.
There are very few of them.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 22, 2021 10:01 PM |
Colin could die and return as an energy-and-blood-sucking vampire hybrid.
The Vampiric Council Guide I take as a possible match for someone, but they've kept her disengaged from any real connections so she may go with the Council plot of this season.
Love the film, too, of course. Managing to follow it with scaled-for-tv characters and stories so well shows the brilliance of the team behind them both. I hope they do other projects.

I loved the actress who played Nadja in 'Stath Lets Flats'. I'll be sad if Colin dies and actually leaves instead of being morphed into an late night call centre employee.

I couldn't get into Stath Lets Flats, I found most off the characters insufferable and dull. Especially the lead, he's 'Nadja's' real life brother. I couldn't get past two episodes.

Colin Robinson better not be dead. When they say his full name , especially Nadia, I lose my shit. Lazlo is fucking hysterical. The actor who plays him, Matt Berry, can do no wrong in the comedy field. I love his show Toast Of London, he’s brilliant in it. They’re killing it with guest stars. I hope they get Pete Davidson to be on (he’s the King of Staten Island, would like them to have the vampires worship him thinking he’s an actual king, see how that plays out)

Get you fucking facts straight before claiming people are from a certain demographic.
I'd LOVE to know what you find funny or compelling. The fact that so many young people don't comprehend that most of what they are into is nothing but a re-hash of past generations accomplishments, music, fashion etc. Hipsters are some of the most clueless people.
The fact that 50-60+ years on many people still find The Marx Brothers, Lucille Ball, Steve Allen, Sid Caesar and Mel Brooks, and so many from different eras of comedy, to be timeless and hysterically funny, proves you haven't a bloody clue.

R51, he has to be around my age, so 37 or 38, but most definitely not born in 1990. But everyone seems to shave off a few years off in Hollywood, so I guess that's not unusual.
He was a nice sort; very much into theater, and acting was always his passion, so good for him for being the 1% who actually achieve it. I knew him when we were very young, and this was not in the OC. I also knew he was gay, maybe before he did.

Same tired lame response from yet another typical DL smart-ass.
Face facts, every generation of youth thinks they are the BEST at everything, they are not.
Most intelligent people learn from the past. They have respect for others who fought for everything they have today. For instance, women have rights today because of the suffragettes, womens libbers from the 1950s and many other strong women, these women fought for a woman's right to vote etc.
Try to acknowledge past generations, their accomplishments, their talent etc, it will show the world you have a functioning brain and a modicum of intelligence.

I don't remember this episode. Who turned a baby into a vampire? Must have missed this episode.
What I enjoy about this series, it's not a typical vampire show. We see little of the vampires killing their victims, there's next to no blood sucking. We sometimes see Guillermo deposing the dead bodies, but there's very little actual blood sucking. It's a comedy about the escapades the four vampires get up to.
The idea of four vampires living in Staten Island, next door to that Long Guyland type couple is also hilarious. Of course, the couple never find it odd the vampires only come out at night.
Overall, the series is pretty damn funny.
I do know, I can't stand zombie films and zombie TV shows. The only zombie film I ever saw was Night of the Living Dead, that was excellent. I've never watched The Walking Dead and never will.

Uh, okay.🤔 At the risk of being ‘that guy,’ i feel compelled to point out that zombies and vampires are completely different sub-genres of horror, and have little to do with each other. Zombies are largely mindless, with no personality, and dangerous only in numbers, whereas one vampire is enough to carry a movie or entire series. They’re just not the same.

Anal much? I don't need a thesis or lesson about these horror genres, I'm quite aware that they're "completely different".
I simply don't enjoy zombie films.
I enjoy horror as as a genre, but I'm more drawn to thrillers and the paranormal. I cannot stand 'torture porn' such as Hostel and Saw. That type of horror film holds zero interest. Just because someone enjoys a genre, and it's sub-genres, that sure doesn't mean a viewer must watch everything within the main genre.
I enjoyed The Witch, yet there were so many complainers because, for those types of horror viewers, apparently the film didn't have anything truly scary in it, guess they needed blood and gore?

Donal first started on MTV as crazy Jimmy the Cabdriver in short bumper videos which were shown in-between the music videos, which he mentioned during tonight's episode. He's supposedly playing himself on this series.

An astonishingly honest description of the philistine's immunity to art, aesthetic pleasure, or expanding one's capacity for ethical, cultural or erotic influence.
But then philistines often are honest. As aesthetic autistics, they comprehend nothing beyond their tiny, tiny needs, in terms of "trying to enjoy" something.

It's not hard to believe some people need to relate to certain shows they watch. Why does it bother you so much when someone is being honest? We are all individuals.
Calling someone autistic is incredibly rude and snarky.
I despise reality TV, I've never watched one damn episode of that mindless trash. The housewives shows seem the most absurd, especially as none of those rich superficial spoiled women would ever be consider a "real housewife." No, I'm not a frau.

The more I watch this, the more I want Lazlo in me. Quite deeply.
by Anonymous | reply 107 | October 30, 2021 6:01 PM |
Laszlo would probably oblige, R107.
by Anonymous | reply 108 | October 30, 2021 6:51 PM |
Laszlo said in one episode "I thought I was going to fuck and suck for eternity, not work" or something like that.

[quote] Anal much? I don't need a thesis or lesson about these horror genres, I'm quite aware that they're "completely different". I simply don't enjoy zombie films
Okay, but….its a show about VAMPIRES, not zombies. No one was discussing zombies until you informed us you don’t like them. It had nothing to do with the thread, so i thought you were misinformed.

Jeez, you really DO have reading comprehension problems. WTF is wrong with people these days, do you ever comprehended what you are reading? Are your attention spans really this short? I never compared the genres, you bloody moron. I simply stated the genres of horror I enjoy and zombie films were not one of them. I also explained why I enjoyed this series, because it was not typical vampire series. Period.
I also can't believe that anyone who posts on DL doesn't comprehend that most threads veer off topic. You don't seem to realize that either. Someone mentioning not enjoying other genres of horror films, or whatever was being discussed, is not all that far-fetched in DL thread.
Another thing, DL was never filled with such control freaks! Or are you simply yet another DL troll trying to stir up bullshit where there was none to begin with?

I binged the series this week and quite enjoyed it.
What's everyone's favorite episode? Mine is Season Two, Episode Four, "The Curse." I think the scene where the 'Mosquito Hunters,' accompanied by Guillermo, enter the house which turns out to be occupied by "the Hustle Dynasty," only to wind up fighting for their lives to the tune of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' "Don't Leave Me This Way", is the best out of the whole series so far.
(sequence starts at 15:19)

R112, I love that one, and I called it when Derrick disappeared and then reappeared in s3.
My favorite is the s2 finale at the opera house, where the quartet was lured to their own executions to be preceded by actors reenacting their offenses, only to be rescued by Guillermo in full Van Helsing mode.
Their reactions to their onstage counterparts left me in tears.

R112, the music on this show is fantastic! I love the song that played at the end of the recent episode where Nandor joins a wellness cult.
by Anonymous | reply 114 | November 8, 2021 8:13 PM |
I was shocked to see how bad Cree Summer looked in the wellness cult episode. Her eyes were really buggy, does she have thyroid disease? Cree was so cute in A Different World.

Most of the music choices have been great.
The choice of Norma Tanega's You're Dead was excellent. This song was also used in the film. Despite being recorded in the 1960s, this song sounds fresh and current.
Some people didn't realize this song was recorded in 1966, that it wasn't written specifically for the film. Fans shouldn't be looking for clues about the show's characters in this song.

The excellent music choices stem from; “Flight of the Conchords”; also a funny and entertaining series.

[quote] [[R59]], there is no "deposing of bodies" in the show. This is not "Game of Thrones."
[quote] Guess you missed the episode where there was a brief glimpse of Guillermo carting out a wheelbarrow of dead bodies to bury?
The correct word is DISPOSING, aka getting rid of something (like a corpse). Depose means to take someone's title away (like a king or lordship) usually by force.

How do you know the posters used the wrong word? I know I used "disposing of bodies", as in Guillermo DISPOSING of the dead bodies.
Spell checks ALWAYS fucks up DL posts, especially for those who type fast.
Damn, are you anal and not in a good way!
by Anonymous | reply 120 | November 12, 2021 6:07 PM |
Nandor cracks me up. Something about the character reminds me of Tommy Wiseau--the accent, the long hair, the cluelessness. I think if Tommy Wiseau TRIED to portray a menacing vampire in a serious drama, Nandor is what we'd end up with.

Have you read your post at r59? That's what matters.

Sure, blame spell check. Blame Obama, or whatever. Fact remains, the responses are based on what was actually posted at r59.
[quote] Damn, are you anal and not in a good way!
And that makes you look like a common village idiot for attacking posters who simply pointed out a very "Oh, Dear!" worthy typo (depose vs. dispose). It happens to the best of us, but we don't act like a cunt.

Blocking is always the answer for relentless, whiney, complaining shit-stirrers like R119 R122., now, that's what matters!
For the other posters, the people who are in this thread who actually want to talk about the series and the performers, carry on.

Wow, the bitchy bitter queens are always out in full force over the most inane things on DL. It's amazing what absurd things some imbeciles argue about, typos in posts is one of the most ridiculously absurd things to scream about.
You just know the creep who started this has few friends and is basically super argumentative about most things. These types always need to have the last word.
The question for this loser, why did you feel need the call out anyone re a typo? Who cares?
What sad pathetic losers, especially R119 R122 R126, this freak actually sounds as if they need some heavy duty SSRI meds!
Get some help.

Love WWDITS. I'm tired of all the 'serious' vampire/ghoul shows.
by Anonymous | reply 132 | November 14, 2021 3:33 AM |
The episode with Donal Logue, David Cross, and all the guests stars relied on tired, weak, lazy dick and fart jokes. No satire in that. Schall's addition also proved unfortunate. Miscast, the lot of them other than all involved in season's 1 and 2.
Colin Robinson needs to come back. We all know a Colin, and that's what makes him so funny. But if they actually go to Europe, he would be pointless there.
by Anonymous | reply 133 | November 14, 2021 4:03 AM |
I'm tired of Colin in WWDITS and glad he's gone. He was great in Breaking Bad but not here.

Has anybody noticed how fat the cast has become? The poor kid who plays Guillermo looks to have gained an easy 50 pounds since last season. Nadja is also incredibly heavier than she was last season when it was noticed how heavy she had become. What’s going on around that set?
