What we do in the Shadows

Is anyone else a fan of this show. I love it . So whacky and just a fun ripping apart of vampires. Love it .

by Anonymousreply 135November 15, 2021 3:42 AM

I loved the movie, but haven't seen the show yet. Not sure what channel it's on.

by Anonymousreply 1September 23, 2021 2:30 AM

Fucking guy.

by Anonymousreply 2September 23, 2021 3:11 AM

It's on FX, R1. It's also available on Hulu.

by Anonymousreply 3September 23, 2021 3:21 AM

It is very funny!

by Anonymousreply 4September 23, 2021 3:28 AM

I love this show, and Guillermo in particular. I'm loving the third season so far.

by Anonymousreply 5September 23, 2021 4:34 AM

Love it so much! They are all great but I especially love Nadja...and her doll.

by Anonymousreply 6September 23, 2021 5:07 AM

I love it. I don't love quite so much lately as I did at first, but still, I will keep watching.

by Anonymousreply 7September 23, 2021 5:09 AM

I got out of my coffin all by myself.

I love it.

by Anonymousreply 8September 23, 2021 6:19 AM

It keeps getting better! It doesn't hurt that Nandor and Matt Berry are sexy. If you haven't already seen the movie it's also very funny!

by Anonymousreply 9September 23, 2021 6:22 AM

I adore it. #BAT

by Anonymousreply 10September 23, 2021 6:24 AM

Nadja had the one of the best portrayals of being on drugs in the "we drank the drug blood". I also love Colin Robinson. His episodes kill me.

by Anonymousreply 11September 23, 2021 6:26 AM

My favorite show on TV right now. Nadja is a hoot and Nandor can suck my blood anytime he wants! It’s absolutely hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 12September 23, 2021 6:36 AM

It's brilliant. Jermaine Clement (Flight of the Concords) is a genius, even when just producing.

by Anonymousreply 13September 23, 2021 6:44 AM

Agree i have the biggest crush on both Jemaine and Brett.

by Anonymousreply 14September 23, 2021 5:09 PM

I have zero interest in vampires and that whole “culture” but shit, this show is really funny!

by Anonymousreply 15September 23, 2021 7:30 PM

You thought I was R15 until I put this mesmerizing toothpick disguise in my mouth. Now I’m Jackie, baby…Jackie Daytona!

by Anonymousreply 16September 24, 2021 12:15 AM

Easily my favorite "sitcom" on the air right now.

Well, I do love Pen15 too.

by Anonymousreply 17September 24, 2021 12:24 AM

Who else wants a Nadja doll? I was laughing at how real!Nadja would alternately curse at and then bemoan the loss of the missing doll.

by Anonymousreply 18October 9, 2021 12:14 AM

Just discovered it after suffering through the finale of AHS Season 10, and I think it's very funny. Only on Season 1 so far, but I plan to keep watching.

by Anonymousreply 19October 21, 2021 3:57 PM

Kayvan Novak is very sexy and extremely talented. He's more well known in the UK than in the US, he's been a comedic actor for years.

IIRC, Kayvan had a couple of hit shows in the UK and of course, he was one of the stars of the 'Four Lions' film. His Fonejacker character was very popular.

by Anonymousreply 20October 22, 2021 9:11 AM

Is Colin Robinson really DEAD?

Energy vampires are supposed to die when they reach 100 years.

Why didn't one of the other vampires simply bite him, so he could live?

by Anonymousreply 21October 22, 2021 9:12 AM

LOVE this show, it's hilarious!

Hope the Colin character is somehow revived. They brought the Count back, why not Colin.

The Count doesn't even have a full body, yet he's back, lol

by Anonymousreply 22October 22, 2021 9:26 PM

I love Colin. He's one of my favorite characters and I can't even believe I'm saying that, he's delightfully annoying. The character has a deadpan face, yet he still conveys so much.

by Anonymousreply 23October 22, 2021 9:38 PM

I read an interview with the actor Mark Proksch which stated they told him in advance his character, Colin Robinson, would die this season. Unfortunately, that sounds kind of final, but it could simply be another way to make sure the fans keep watching the series next season.

Another forum stated Colin is in the Season Finale next week?!!

On the other hand, Colin dying would also explain why Kristen Schaal, as The Vampiric Council Guide, has been in several episodes this season. If Colin is gone, she might become a regular.

by Anonymousreply 24October 22, 2021 10:58 PM

A perfect show.

There are very few of them.

by Anonymousreply 25October 22, 2021 11:01 PM

Colin could die and return as an energy-and-blood-sucking vampire hybrid.

The Vampiric Council Guide I take as a possible match for someone, but they've kept her disengaged from any real connections so she may go with the Council plot of this season.

Love the film, too, of course. Managing to follow it with scaled-for-tv characters and stories so well shows the brilliance of the team behind them both. I hope they do other projects.

by Anonymousreply 26October 22, 2021 11:06 PM

I loved the actress who played Nadja in 'Stath Lets Flats'. I'll be sad if Colin dies and actually leaves instead of being morphed into an late night call centre employee.

by Anonymousreply 27October 22, 2021 11:10 PM

I couldn't get into Stath Lets Flats, I found most off the characters insufferable and dull. Especially the lead, he's 'Nadja's' real life brother. I couldn't get past two episodes.

by Anonymousreply 28October 23, 2021 2:47 PM

Wish Jermaine C appeared in the series more often, so glad Taiiki isn't in it much, talk about chewing up the scenery!

The guest stars are always interesting, Tilda Swinton, Paul Reubens, Donal Logue etc.

by Anonymousreply 29October 23, 2021 2:49 PM

You were born with a silver penis in your mouth!

by Anonymousreply 30October 23, 2021 3:27 PM

Apparently four-hour long orgasms aren't as exciting as you might think.

by Anonymousreply 31October 23, 2021 4:05 PM

I have a general issue with shows that are have dark lighting, or feel claustrophobic, and obviously, this show falls under both categories. Nevertheless, I do make an exception and watch because it is really, really well written.

by Anonymousreply 32October 23, 2021 4:11 PM

I absolutely loved Stath Let's Flats, but I like things that are over the top ridiculous.

There's another season starting on the 26th.

by Anonymousreply 33October 23, 2021 10:50 PM

This season is just as good as the previous two, which I wasn't expecting. But the story lines are so SAD.

by Anonymousreply 34October 23, 2021 11:57 PM

How can they kill off Colin? He's funny as hell. Love the ep where he's putting all his coworkers to sleep from boredom.

Nandor has some nice legs in those shorts.

Did the actress playing Nadya gain weight from season 1 to 2? She looks bigger.

by Anonymousreply 35October 24, 2021 12:29 AM

I kinda crush on Nandor.

by Anonymousreply 36October 24, 2021 12:49 AM

Colin Robinson better not be dead. When they say his full name , especially Nadia, I lose my shit. Lazlo is fucking hysterical. The actor who plays him, Matt Berry, can do no wrong in the comedy field. I love his show Toast Of London, he’s brilliant in it. They’re killing it with guest stars. I hope they get Pete Davidson to be on (he’s the King of Staten Island, would like them to have the vampires worship him thinking he’s an actual king, see how that plays out)

by Anonymousreply 37October 24, 2021 3:49 AM

Pedestrian humor, the cast and writing suck. Hate it. It's for millennials in that it's flat and moronic.

by Anonymousreply 38October 24, 2021 5:29 AM

I wanted to like it, but I really couldn’t get into it because I didn’t see myself in it, so I can’t really relate to any the characters. I didn’t like the HBO series Looking for the same reason.

by Anonymousreply 39October 24, 2021 5:40 AM

R41, not funny, like the series. Millennials are so weak in both music and comedy. They can't come up with anything decent in either category.

by Anonymousreply 42October 26, 2021 10:00 AM

The show's writers and creators aren't millennials

by Anonymousreply 43October 26, 2021 8:13 PM

What do you consider funny R42?

by Anonymousreply 44October 26, 2021 8:31 PM

I’m not a millennial by any means and I think it’s funny.

by Anonymousreply 45October 26, 2021 10:00 PM

"Gizmo!"

by Anonymousreply 46October 26, 2021 10:06 PM

Woody Allen's book Appropos of Nothing was funny

by Anonymousreply 47October 26, 2021 11:48 PM

[quote][R41], not funny, like the series. Millennials are so weak in both music and comedy. They can't come up with anything decent in either category.

Kayvan & company are not millennials. Kayvan is 42, Jermaine Clement is 47, Taika Waititi is 46 and so on.

Get you fucking facts straight before claiming people are from a certain demographic.

I'd LOVE to know what you find funny or compelling. The fact that so many young people don't comprehend that most of what they are into is nothing but a re-hash of past generations accomplishments, music, fashion etc. Hipsters are some of the most clueless people.

The fact that 50-60+ years on many people still find The Marx Brothers, Lucille Ball, Steve Allen, Sid Caesar and Mel Brooks, and so many from different eras of comedy, to be timeless and hysterically funny, proves you haven't a bloody clue.

by Anonymousreply 48October 27, 2021 2:17 AM

I knew Harvey Guillen. All I will say is that he's not from Orange County, and he's not as young as his IMDB claims.

by Anonymousreply 49October 27, 2021 2:43 AM

[quote]I’m not a millennial by any means and I think it’s funny.

Same. I'm an X-er, but so are the show creators.

by Anonymousreply 50October 27, 2021 2:57 AM

[quote]I knew Harvey Guillen. All I will say is that he's not from Orange County, and he's not as young as his IMDB claims.

Do tell.

Harvey, was interviewed by the NY Times, he went on about being from a very poor background and never thought he'd ever succeed as an actor. He acted very humble and grateful.

by Anonymousreply 51October 27, 2021 2:58 AM

I love it.

by Anonymousreply 52October 27, 2021 2:59 AM

R51, he has to be around my age, so 37 or 38, but most definitely not born in 1990. But everyone seems to shave off a few years off in Hollywood, so I guess that's not unusual.

He was a nice sort; very much into theater, and acting was always his passion, so good for him for being the 1% who actually achieve it. I knew him when we were very young, and this was not in the OC. I also knew he was gay, maybe before he did.

by Anonymousreply 53October 27, 2021 3:09 AM

R48, fun at parties.

by Anonymousreply 54October 27, 2021 3:34 AM

R48, I like most of those AND Shadows.

Humor is of a time and place. In a few decades Shadows won’t have the same appeal.

It’s not a contest of eras.

by Anonymousreply 55October 27, 2021 3:51 AM

[quote][R48], fun at parties.

Same tired lame response from yet another typical DL smart-ass.

Face facts, every generation of youth thinks they are the BEST at everything, they are not.

Most intelligent people learn from the past. They have respect for others who fought for everything they have today. For instance, women have rights today because of the suffragettes, womens libbers from the 1950s and many other strong women, these women fought for a woman's right to vote etc.

Try to acknowledge past generations, their accomplishments, their talent etc, it will show the world you have a functioning brain and a modicum of intelligence.

by Anonymousreply 56October 27, 2021 4:21 AM

The first season was so good. I was a little disappointed in season 3. It had more gross out humor.

by Anonymousreply 57October 27, 2021 5:26 AM

Turning a baby into a vampire and leaving it in the Bronx will never not be funny to me. This was the weakest season, but still one of the best shows on tv.

by Anonymousreply 58October 27, 2021 5:27 AM

[quote]Turning a baby into a vampire and leaving it in the Bronx will never not be funny to me. This was the weakest season, but still one of the best shows on tv.

I don't remember this episode. Who turned a baby into a vampire? Must have missed this episode.

What I enjoy about this series, it's not a typical vampire show. We see little of the vampires killing their victims, there's next to no blood sucking. We sometimes see Guillermo deposing the dead bodies, but there's very little actual blood sucking. It's a comedy about the escapades the four vampires get up to.

The idea of four vampires living in Staten Island, next door to that Long Guyland type couple is also hilarious. Of course, the couple never find it odd the vampires only come out at night.

Overall, the series is pretty damn funny.

I do know, I can't stand zombie films and zombie TV shows. The only zombie film I ever saw was Night of the Living Dead, that was excellent. I've never watched The Walking Dead and never will.

by Anonymousreply 59October 27, 2021 5:41 AM

R48 - R56 is the Colin Robinson of this thread.

by Anonymousreply 60October 27, 2021 6:39 AM

[quote][R48] - [R56] is the Colin Robinson of this thread.

Fine with me, being compared to a beloved TV character isn't too bad.

What's the matter, are my posts too long for your little mind to absorb? Distracted by your cell phone toy?

by Anonymousreply 61October 27, 2021 6:49 AM

You're truly deranged, Mary R61.

Calm the fuck down, you asshole. What the fuck? Do you think you can argue your way into forcing people to enjoy your old What's My Line videos on YouTube? Maybe a Milton Berle festival on your night off from playing bridge. What the fuck is your problem? I'm probably older than you. I can appreciate old comedy and new comedy as well. You're just a fucking blowhard high on Geritol. Somebody needs to punch you in the face. That would be hilarious. It'd be a great punchline.

by Anonymousreply 62October 27, 2021 7:02 AM

[quote] I do know, I can't stand zombie films and zombie TV shows. The only zombie film I ever saw was Night of the Living Dead, that was excellent. I've never watched The Walking Dead and never will

Uh, okay.🤔 At the risk of being ‘that guy,’ i feel compelled to point out that zombies and vampires are completely different sub-genres of horror, and have little to do with each other. Zombies are largely mindless, with no personality, and dangerous only in numbers, whereas one vampire is enough to carry a movie or entire series. They’re just not the same.

I also must add: “so much toxic masculinity in the Ottoman Empire!!”😄

by Anonymousreply 63October 27, 2021 7:06 AM

R59, try Shaun of the Dead.

by Anonymousreply 64October 27, 2021 4:42 PM

I keep waiting for the nerdy college girl Nadja bit in season 1 to make an appearance.

by Anonymousreply 65October 27, 2021 4:45 PM

Anal much? I don't need a thesis or lesson about these horror genres, I'm quite aware that they're "completely different".

I simply don't enjoy zombie films.

I enjoy horror as as a genre, but I'm more drawn to thrillers and the paranormal. I cannot stand 'torture porn' such as Hostel and Saw. That type of horror film holds zero interest. Just because someone enjoys a genre, and it's sub-genres, that sure doesn't mean a viewer must watch everything within the main genre.

I enjoyed The Witch, yet there were so many complainers because, for those types of horror viewers, apparently the film didn't have anything truly scary in it, guess they needed blood and gore?

by Anonymousreply 66October 28, 2021 1:51 AM

I hate torture porn. Prefer supernatural. Poltergeist is one I can watch over and over again but I enjoy zombie movies and vampires.

by Anonymousreply 67October 28, 2021 1:56 AM

Wow, R62, PLEASE take your fucking meds! I'm deranged? 😂 🤣

There are so many sickos here at DL, imagine dealing with these unhinged crazies in real life.

No matter what is being discussed in a thread, DL has always been about differing opinions. It's called a DISCUSSION. Try it sometime.

Apparently, in this lunatic's sub-basement dwelling 4chan world, not agreeing makes him go into a full MELTDOWN. Makes you wonder, how these types actually function in real life.

by Anonymousreply 68October 28, 2021 1:59 AM

All-caps screeching twat R68; mirror much, ya lil sociopath? Blathering on and on about kids today not liking old classic comedies and you hating on the show, and still showing up here now that you've taken your Geritol and calmed down after you've had your weekly bowel movement. You're still a shrieking old fart with no sense of humor and all the charm and looks of Colin Robinson; not a compliment, cement-head.

by Anonymousreply 69October 28, 2021 2:21 AM

Fucking guy

by Anonymousreply 70October 28, 2021 4:33 AM

R69, please put yourself out of your misery, OD heroin or drink yourself to death. Do you own a gun? Use it on yourself.

Who on Earth gets this triggered by a person's posts on an anonymous message forum.

Oh the irony, calling me 'old', I'm in my 30s.

Get help.

by Anonymousreply 71October 28, 2021 4:48 AM

Shows you what a dolt R69 is, I never posted I "hated" WWDITS, I said I loved the show and really enjoyed it.

"You hating on the show", huh? I didn't post anything of the sort.

Reading comprehension seems to be a major problem with so many DL posters. Pathetic.

by Anonymousreply 72October 28, 2021 4:51 AM

r65 pretty sure she burned up in sunlight after becoming a vampire. Her name was Jenna, played by Beanie Feldstein and I thought she was hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 73October 28, 2021 5:13 AM

The old vampire that they dug up from their backyard was hilarious. They thought they killed him but he says, "Don't worry, it's all in the past."

[quite]The old vampire that they dug up from their backyard was hilarious. They thought they killed him but he says, "Don't worry, it's all in the past."

Wasn't that The Baron? He's still around somewhere, living with the Hellhound (the Labrador Retriever) and some other vampire.

R76- wasn’t the other vampire the very first one that existed- the father of everyone?

by Anonymousreply 79October 28, 2021 11:46 AM

I just can't get enough of two angry autists trying to get the last boring word. Scintillating!

by Anonymousreply 80October 28, 2021 2:13 PM

Yeah those two need to STFU.

by Anonymousreply 81October 28, 2021 2:15 PM

Yep R79 - he was the Sire, the original vampire, and they think that if he dies, all vampires will since he created them all. But now he's happily living(dead) in Nutley, New Jersey with the Baron and the Hellhound as R76 says. They now get their victims via AirBnb customers. I just watched that episode.

by Anonymousreply 82October 28, 2021 2:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 83October 29, 2021 1:17 AM

by Anonymousreply 84October 29, 2021 2:16 AM

This episode is sooooo good.

Love Donal Logue in this.

by Anonymousreply 85October 29, 2021 3:36 AM

Who is Donal Logue? I've only seen him in this and The Big Tease but he's obviously well known.

by Anonymousreply 86October 29, 2021 3:38 AM

Donal is both a comedic and dramatic actor.

Donal first started on MTV as crazy Jimmy the Cabdriver in short bumper videos which were shown in-between the music videos, which he mentioned during tonight's episode. He's supposedly playing himself on this series.

Donal was also on SVU on and off and he's been in many other TV series. Check out IMDb for a full list of his credits.

by Anonymousreply 87October 29, 2021 3:47 AM

Colin Robinson, lol

I just knew it.

by Anonymousreply 88October 29, 2021 3:47 AM

R86, he’s an excellent character actor, and is pretty well known for his role in, “Blade”. WWDITS likes to cast actors who have previously played vampires in film /tv to play actual vampires- Tilda, Evan Rachel Wood, Wesley Snipes, Danny Trejo, and Paul Reubens.

by Anonymousreply 89October 29, 2021 1:32 PM

R59, there is no "deposing of bodies" in the show.

This is not "Game of Thrones."

by Anonymousreply 90October 29, 2021 4:19 PM

[quote]I wanted to like it, but I really couldn’t get into it because I didn’t see myself in it, so I can’t really relate to any the characters. I didn’t like the HBO series Looking for the same reason.

An astonishingly honest description of the philistine's immunity to art, aesthetic pleasure, or expanding one's capacity for ethical, cultural or erotic influence.

But then philistines often are honest. As aesthetic autistics, they comprehend nothing beyond their tiny, tiny needs, in terms of "trying to enjoy" something.

by Anonymousreply 91October 29, 2021 4:31 PM

And it still is one of the few "perfect" shows, all the more rare for keeping its vision and world steady while managing engaging plots and slipping challenging social commentary and cultural themes in for anyone who wants to notice.

by Anonymousreply 92October 29, 2021 4:40 PM

It would figure that Viago is a RuPaul fan.

by Anonymousreply 93October 29, 2021 5:00 PM

r59 It's from the episdoe titled The Trial.

by Anonymousreply 94October 29, 2021 5:30 PM

[R59], there is no "deposing of bodies" in the show. This is not "Game of Thrones."

Guess you missed the episode where there was a brief glimpse of Guillermo carting out a wheelbarrow of dead bodies to bury?

Never watched GOT, I have no idea how bodies were deposed of on that series. Not everyone watches popular TV shows.

by Anonymousreply 95October 29, 2021 8:50 PM

After the Baron was killed from the sunlight, wasn't his burial shown?

by Anonymousreply 96October 29, 2021 8:51 PM

Season 1 had a lot more bodies.

by Anonymousreply 97October 29, 2021 8:59 PM

Damn, Nadja's tits were on full display in the finale!

by Anonymousreply 98October 29, 2021 9:45 PM

That’s what I remember too r96. But, I’m no expert…

by Anonymousreply 99October 29, 2021 10:09 PM

R91, WTF is your problem?

I wasn't the person who posted why they don't enjoy this series, however, I see no reason why someone cannot explain why they don't watch certain TV shows and films.

It's not hard to believe some people need to relate to certain shows they watch. Why does it bother you so much when someone is being honest? We are all individuals.

Calling someone autistic is incredibly rude and snarky.

I despise reality TV, I've never watched one damn episode of that mindless trash. The housewives shows seem the most absurd, especially as none of those rich superficial spoiled women would ever be consider a "real housewife." No, I'm not a frau.

by Anonymousreply 100October 29, 2021 11:08 PM

Normally, not into vampires but I thought I'd give it a try for October.

The first episode where Nandor says, "there are half drunk people in the basement" and Lazlo replies, "where'd they find the liquor?" Made me laugh so hard I knew I'd keep watching.

Yes, the humor is a bit juvenile but the deapan delivery cracks me up.

I don't CARE if it's silly. I, personally, NEED some silliness in my life right now.

I haven't gotten to the resurrected Barren (he said that's how it's spelled because he doesn't have any genitals) but I love Doug Jones and I'm glad he's back!

by Anonymousreply 101October 29, 2021 11:08 PM

Matt Berry has a great speaking voice. He does a TV VoiceOver for, IIRC, Tylenol.

His series 'Toast of London' was hysterical. For this series, Matt won a Bafta in 2015 for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.

Matt is also a musician, he's released about 9 albums.

by Anonymousreply 102October 29, 2021 11:18 PM

The season finale was brilliant!

by Anonymousreply 103October 29, 2021 11:23 PM

Matt Berry did a show a couple of years ago called Year Of The Rabbit, which was basically just a very specific parody of Victorian era-set crime series like Ripper Street, and it was fucking hilarious. He’s kind of a genius.

by Anonymousreply 104October 30, 2021 6:25 AM

Matt Berry is glorious in everything he does.

by Anonymousreply 105October 30, 2021 8:06 AM

Yes R96 they buried him but they poured a bit of blood on his face as a 'final drink' and when they do his eyes light up for a moment but they don't notice. When they dig up what's left of him he explains how he has survived while down in the dirt.

by Anonymousreply 106October 30, 2021 8:19 AM

The more I watch this, the more I want Lazlo in me. Quite deeply.

by Anonymousreply 107October 30, 2021 7:01 PM

Laszlo would probably oblige, R107.

by Anonymousreply 108October 30, 2021 7:51 PM

Laszlo said in one episode "I thought I was going to fuck and suck for eternity, not work" or something like that.

[quote] Anal much? I don't need a thesis or lesson about these horror genres, I'm quite aware that they're "completely different". I simply don't enjoy zombie films

Okay, but….its a show about VAMPIRES, not zombies. No one was discussing zombies until you informed us you don’t like them. It had nothing to do with the thread, so i thought you were misinformed.

Jeez, you really DO have reading comprehension problems. WTF is wrong with people these days, do you ever comprehended what you are reading? Are your attention spans really this short? I never compared the genres, you bloody moron. I simply stated the genres of horror I enjoy and zombie films were not one of them. I also explained why I enjoyed this series, because it was not typical vampire series. Period.

I also can't believe that anyone who posts on DL doesn't comprehend that most threads veer off topic. You don't seem to realize that either. Someone mentioning not enjoying other genres of horror films, or whatever was being discussed, is not all that far-fetched in DL thread.

Another thing, DL was never filled with such control freaks! Or are you simply yet another DL troll trying to stir up bullshit where there was none to begin with?

by Anonymousreply 111October 31, 2021 10:01 AM

I binged the series this week and quite enjoyed it.

What's everyone's favorite episode? Mine is Season Two, Episode Four, "The Curse." I think the scene where the 'Mosquito Hunters,' accompanied by Guillermo, enter the house which turns out to be occupied by "the Hustle Dynasty," only to wind up fighting for their lives to the tune of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes' "Don't Leave Me This Way", is the best out of the whole series so far.

(sequence starts at 15:19)

R112, I love that one, and I called it when Derrick disappeared and then reappeared in s3.

My favorite is the s2 finale at the opera house, where the quartet was lured to their own executions to be preceded by actors reenacting their offenses, only to be rescued by Guillermo in full Van Helsing mode.

Their reactions to their onstage counterparts left me in tears.

R112, the music on this show is fantastic! I love the song that played at the end of the recent episode where Nandor joins a wellness cult.

I was shocked to see how bad Cree Summer looked in the wellness cult episode. Her eyes were really buggy, does she have thyroid disease? Cree was so cute in A Different World.

Most of the music choices have been great.

The choice of Norma Tanega's You're Dead was excellent. This song was also used in the film. Despite being recorded in the 1960s, this song sounds fresh and current.

Some people didn't realize this song was recorded in 1966, that it wasn't written specifically for the film. Fans shouldn't be looking for clues about the show's characters in this song.

by Anonymousreply 116November 10, 2021 10:02 AM

The excellent music choices stem from; “Flight of the Conchords”; also a funny and entertaining series.

[quote] [[R59]], there is no "deposing of bodies" in the show. This is not "Game of Thrones."

[quote] Guess you missed the episode where there was a brief glimpse of Guillermo carting out a wheelbarrow of dead bodies to bury?

The correct word is DISPOSING, aka getting rid of something (like a corpse). Depose means to take someone's title away (like a king or lordship) usually by force.

How do you know the posters used the wrong word? I know I used "disposing of bodies", as in Guillermo DISPOSING of the dead bodies.

Spell checks ALWAYS fucks up DL posts, especially for those who type fast.

Damn, are you anal and not in a good way!

by Anonymousreply 120November 12, 2021 7:07 PM

Nandor cracks me up. Something about the character reminds me of Tommy Wiseau--the accent, the long hair, the cluelessness. I think if Tommy Wiseau TRIED to portray a menacing vampire in a serious drama, Nandor is what we'd end up with.

Have you read your post at r59? That's what matters.

Sure, blame spell check. Blame Obama, or whatever. Fact remains, the responses are based on what was actually posted at r59.

[quote] Damn, are you anal and not in a good way!

And that makes you look like a common village idiot for attacking posters who simply pointed out a very "Oh, Dear!" worthy typo (depose vs. dispose). It happens to the best of us, but we don't act like a cunt.

by Anonymousreply 122November 12, 2021 8:54 PM

Blocking is always the answer for relentless, whiney, complaining shit-stirrers like R119 R122., now, that's what matters!

For the other posters, the people who are in this thread who actually want to talk about the series and the performers, carry on.

Poor village idiot loser. Still can't get over being called out for a typo. A TYPO! He could've shown some humility, but instead he made a scene and threw shit at the walls. But sure, let us ingore the shit on the walls and keep the topic going.

Sorry,

Both of you, stop crying. You look like a pair of wet undies.

by Anonymousreply 126November 13, 2021 2:13 PM

My favourite episode is the one where the would-be vampire killers break into the house of the disco-loving vampires.

by Anonymousreply 127November 13, 2021 2:30 PM

Wow, the bitchy bitter queens are always out in full force over the most inane things on DL. It's amazing what absurd things some imbeciles argue about, typos in posts is one of the most ridiculously absurd things to scream about.

You just know the creep who started this has few friends and is basically super argumentative about most things. These types always need to have the last word.

The question for this loser, why did you feel need the call out anyone re a typo? Who cares?

What sad pathetic losers, especially R119 R122 R126, this freak actually sounds as if they need some heavy duty SSRI meds!

Get some help.

by Anonymousreply 128November 13, 2021 4:36 PM

I meant R125 125, but most here already knew the argumentative imbecile I was referring to.

Lazlo now needs to sculpt some hedges into penises!

by Anonymousreply 130November 13, 2021 8:04 PM

The move is great. The TV version is OK. Love Nadja but not the addition of Colin.

by Anonymousreply 131November 14, 2021 4:30 AM

Love WWDITS. I'm tired of all the 'serious' vampire/ghoul shows.

by Anonymousreply 132November 14, 2021 4:33 AM

The episode with Donal Logue, David Cross, and all the guests stars relied on tired, weak, lazy dick and fart jokes. No satire in that. Schall's addition also proved unfortunate. Miscast, the lot of them other than all involved in season's 1 and 2.

Colin Robinson needs to come back. We all know a Colin, and that's what makes him so funny. But if they actually go to Europe, he would be pointless there.

by Anonymousreply 133November 14, 2021 5:03 AM

I'm tired of Colin in WWDITS and glad he's gone. He was great in Breaking Bad but not here.

by Anonymousreply 134November 14, 2021 10:09 PM

Colin isn't gone.
