Why does everyone have to fixate on whether the gay characters we see on tv count as ‘stereotypes’? Noth seemed credible to me when he commented that he was adamant about not returning. But then he veered into rote publicity-speak when he said that the producers insisted he read the script and after he read it he was sold on appearing.

I translate that to, "I asked for Big Dough-Ray-mee and got it" and he also may have insisted, before he signed it, that his contract promise his character would be killed off.
