Race baiting as usual.

You mean your post, OP?

by Anonymousreply 1September 21, 2021 4:12 PM

Oh Joy! A link to FOX News!!!

by Anonymousreply 2September 21, 2021 4:14 PM

No fan of Joy Reid, but in this case she’s not wrong.

by Anonymousreply 3September 21, 2021 4:14 PM

What R3 said. Tired of the BS.

by Anonymousreply 4September 21, 2021 4:15 PM

She is NOT wrong.

by Anonymousreply 5September 21, 2021 4:15 PM

She's right though.

by Anonymousreply 6September 21, 2021 4:16 PM

She's not wrong.

She's also in the media and can do something about this problem.

by Anonymousreply 7September 21, 2021 4:17 PM

Still, there's truth to her statement. But Gabby P looks like my nieces, my friends' kids- she looks familiar. It resonates. These things happen and then the shouting begins.

by Anonymousreply 8September 21, 2021 4:17 PM

Segregate please. People are miserable. Segregation brought so much happiness. Even to blacks.

by Anonymousreply 9September 21, 2021 4:18 PM

Since 60% of the US is still white, white woman syndrome is still a thing. Even if the MSM didn't cover it, the story would still be huge on social media. Maybe Joy Reid can get social media to not cover stories about young pretty blondes. They can ban all stories that don't involve POC. I'm sure she'd love that.

by Anonymousreply 10September 21, 2021 4:19 PM

She is completely wrong. If Gabby grew up in a trailer park and was not conventionally pretty, this case wouldn’t get any attention.

If a wealthy pretty black girl went missing it would get attention.

Race is not the deciding factor here.

by Anonymousreply 11September 21, 2021 4:19 PM

She isn’t wrong. Still homophobic.

by Anonymousreply 15September 21, 2021 4:21 PM

Rich 1%er coon of course overlooks class to focus on race.

by Anonymousreply 16September 21, 2021 4:22 PM

Yes, they should definitely spend as much time time on missing indigenous girls even if nobody wants to follow those stories. Keep forcing things down people's throats. That's the ticket!

by Anonymousreply 17September 21, 2021 4:22 PM

Coon? I can see which side of class vs. race you follow

by Anonymousreply 18September 21, 2021 4:24 PM

The missing white woman stories are bad because white women are insane and think a missing white woman in a country with 330 million people is a call to arms for other potato shaped frauen. Of course a bunch of fat middle class white fraus on facebook are up in arms about the supposed patriarchal terrorism they have to deal with everyday from behind their iphone 12s while they're simultaneously listening to True Crime podcasts and running MLM schemes. You'd think they live in Nazi Germany with all their PTSD, talk of trauma . That's right: white middle lass American women, the most OPPRESSED group on earth.

I'm going to choose to believe that you are unaware of how vile this statement is.

by Anonymousreply 22September 21, 2021 4:30 PM

If the story wasn't getting eyeballs it wouldn't get news coverage. It's a break from 24/7 anti-vaxxers, climate change, covid, etc. Of course, they could focus on the absolute epidemic of black on black murders but somehow I doubt that will happen.

by Anonymousreply 23September 21, 2021 4:30 PM

R20 There is little political will to solve those cases because Feds would need to be involved. The state government keeps passing awareness measures and arranging task forces but they don't do shit.

by Anonymousreply 24September 21, 2021 4:32 PM

Joy is patiently waiting for a cop to kill another black person on film again. Covering white folks in trouble is no fun for her

by Anonymousreply 25September 21, 2021 4:32 PM

Joy's had a show for years. She could highlight missing black women every day. Joy's acting like Trumpsters now: motivated solely by resentment.

by Anonymousreply 26September 21, 2021 4:33 PM

When white folks getting killed by cops get the equal amount of attention by media as blacks do, I will listen to their bitching.

by Anonymousreply 27September 21, 2021 4:34 PM

R23 or what about the awful treatment of black people by police around the country?

by Anonymousreply 28September 21, 2021 4:34 PM

When Lifetime makes the inevitable movie about Gabby’s disappearance they should cast a black actress to play her just for shits and giggles.

by Anonymousreply 29September 21, 2021 4:38 PM

R28 there have been a whole spate of attacks by black men on everybody in NYC and the media ignores it. Whatever happened to the black guy who kicked a woman down an escalator in Brooklyn? Nobody cares. Doesn't fit the narrative. All those black men attacking Asians? Not our business.

by Anonymousreply 30September 21, 2021 4:38 PM

I'm sorry, but she is right. I don't understand why a local story about a woman being killed by her partner (as common as it comes) is some huge story except for the fact that she couldn't be more typical of why it's being covered. Him being missing now, is the story, but having it covered nationally when it's a local story, is why Joy is correct.

by Anonymousreply 31September 21, 2021 4:38 PM

I don't disagree w/ the premise that missing POCs receive exponentially less coverage than missing white women (or people). Especially on Joy Reid's show.

The problem is the method. Mock & exploit missing/dead people to make a point about others.

Pit them against each other

by Anonymousreply 32September 21, 2021 4:39 PM

There are thousands of missing white women. A select few receive media attention. In this age of social media, the consumer is fueling the demand for particular stories and it can’t all be blamed on a media narrative or bias. If social media is focusing on and furthering the story, this is what those social media consumers identify with and what arouses their curiosity and interest.

Gabby is particularly photogenic and she was photographed in picturesque locales. She is not model pretty but she is cheerleader pretty. Many non-white straight guys likely find her cute as well as white guys. She had a bangin’ , athletic body.

It’s a uniquely American story involving National Parks and young lovers on the road. The utter stupidity of Brian Laundrie combined with his aiding and abetting amoral parents heightens the drama. The mob outside the Laundries home made for good press as well.

by Anonymousreply 33September 21, 2021 4:39 PM

You’re a real piece of shit R17

by Anonymousreply 34September 21, 2021 4:39 PM

by Anonymousreply 36September 21, 2021 4:42 PM

[quote]When white folks getting killed by cops get the equal amount of attention by media as blacks do, I will listen to their bitching.

Do me a favor? Don't act like non-whites who do something bad don't get endless media coverage so that we see endless threads about the entire group being responsible. We get to hear about a single Muslim stabbing someone on an entirely different continent of hundreds of millions of people which is in no way about informing and only about fear-mongering. Meanwhile, countless people are shot or stabbed or raped right here, and it doesn't get the coverage that that ONE stabbing by ONE person thousands of miles away will get , so spare me your bullshit of trying to act like the media is just so unfair to white people.

by Anonymousreply 37September 21, 2021 4:42 PM

Thank you R36!

by Anonymousreply 38September 21, 2021 4:43 PM

[quote]I don't understand why a local story about a woman being killed by her partner (as common as it comes) is some huge story

That's not what the story was, or even is at the moment. The story was that she went missing and her boyfriend and his parents hadn't even told HER parents that she was missing. Because she was part of the van life and camping movement, there were a lot of people on IG and TikTok and YT who knew the areas she might have gone missing in. It created interest as people wondered where she was and now wonder where he is. Plus, there was a murder of a couple near Moab that might be related to the Gabby case.

Anyone who keeps saying this "it doesn't make any sense why anyone is interested" thing is being ridiculous. If you don't LIKE that people are interested in it, say so. Don't lie that you can't understand why it would capture people's attention.

by Anonymousreply 39September 21, 2021 4:44 PM

there was actually an old term "the less-dead", some elements might have changed slightly over the time, but the essence still the same.

[quote] The less-dead is a term coined to refer to the majority of serial murder victims, who belong to marginalized groups of society. They lack prestige or power and generally come from lower socioeconomic groups. They are considered less-dead because before their deaths, they virtually “never were,” according to prevailing social attitudes. In other words, they are essentially ignored and devalued by their own communities or members of their neighborhoods and generally not missed when they are gone. Examples are prostitutes, the homeless, vagrants, migrant farm workers, homosexuals, the poor, elderly women, and runaways. They are often vulnerable in locations they frequent, and easy to lure and dominate. A great deal less pressure is felt by the police when victims of crime come from the marginal elements...

by Anonymousreply 40September 21, 2021 4:44 PM

WOW! Joy is taking time away from throwing constant shade at the gays for this?

by Anonymousreply 41September 21, 2021 4:45 PM

The story jumped the shark when a bunch of people dressed in Trump garb were stationed outside Brian's house.

by Anonymousreply 42September 21, 2021 4:47 PM

[quote]Anyone who keeps saying this "it doesn't make any sense why anyone is interested" thing is being ridiculous. If you don't LIKE that people are interested in it, say so. Don't lie that you can't understand why it would capture people's attention.

Oh come on, you know if she were some black girl who went missing and the boyfriend was a suspect and his family lied about it, it would not get this attention. Let's be serious.

by Anonymousreply 43September 21, 2021 4:51 PM

It wasn’t just missing white woman syndrome. The girl was all over social media. There are plenty of videos, posts and pics of her for people to dissect. Also, the story is still unfolding, so people get to play detective and speculate all they want and feel like they are watching a show.

by Anonymousreply 44September 21, 2021 4:53 PM

Joy Reid will never get over the fact that black people are only 13% of the population.

by Anonymousreply 45September 21, 2021 4:54 PM

Whatever. The reason murders of non-whites doesn't get attention is because society doesn't care. So, Joy Reid and all the people claiming they agree with her should be pointing the finger at themselves.

by Anonymousreply 46September 21, 2021 4:54 PM

That's a completely different issue than what you previously said, r43. You said that it didn't make sense to have caught anyone's attention because it was just "a local story."

by Anonymousreply 47September 21, 2021 4:56 PM

R44 Black women on social media too. You think White women have a monopoly on social media? The van life thing does not add a layer of intrigue, in fact it makes her look like a stinky druggy. The media circus is because she was blonde, white, and attractive. 4 black people were murdered under mysterious circumstances in Minnesota around the same time, both women were mothers. Of course the other terminally online white frauen did not care.

by Anonymousreply 48September 21, 2021 4:58 PM

R47, I stand by that and if you made the circumstances the same and she were black, it wouldn't be covered and you know it. In fact, the media would feel "forced" to cover it not out of interest but afraid of being accused of racism.

by Anonymousreply 49September 21, 2021 4:58 PM

The news cycle caters to white women because they are the ones consuming the vast majority of news media.

by Anonymousreply 50September 21, 2021 5:00 PM

R47, make her whatever the fuck color you want and I'd still call it a local story. There is nothing unique about this story. Her boyfriend lied and his family helped and he's missing. Fucking ID channel has marathons about this shit.

by Anonymousreply 51September 21, 2021 5:00 PM

R48, If black twitter made made it trend on twitter for days on end, the media pick it up. Black interest stories are in the media much more than Asian or Latino interest stories are.

by Anonymousreply 52September 21, 2021 5:02 PM

[quote]4 black people were murdered under mysterious circumstances in Minnesota around the same time, both women were mothers.

The perps in custody in that case are black. A father and son team.

Tell us: if the perps had been white....a white father and son, murdering 4 black people, do you think the media would have ignored the story? Or do you think there would have been CONSTANT news about it?

by Anonymousreply 53September 21, 2021 5:06 PM

Missing indigenous people are usually raped and murdered by other indigenous people who are (by request) subject to tribal not State law. So blame the tribes

[Quote]Indians living on a reservation are considered U.S. citizens and citizens of that particular tribe. Courts have generally held that due to this dual nature tribes have immunity from federal civil cases, most of the time, and are not subject to laws of States the reservation is on

R55. Tribal elders don't want media attention. They don't want outside interference in what they perceive to be tribal matters

by Anonymousreply 61September 21, 2021 5:20 PM

Same thing in the Hasid community. They get away with a lot of shit because law enforcement won't go near them nor prosecute them.

by Anonymousreply 62September 21, 2021 5:24 PM

[quote]Tribal elders don't want media attention. They don't want outside interference in what they perceive to be tribal matters

Brian Laundrie's family doesn't want media attention, either. The media doesn't care.

by Anonymousreply 63September 21, 2021 5:24 PM

Agree the media should cover more stories about missing WOC.

You first, Joy.

by Anonymousreply 64September 21, 2021 5:25 PM

She seems to be taking over Melissa Harris Perry's lane.

by Anonymousreply 65September 21, 2021 5:25 PM

by Anonymousreply 68September 21, 2021 5:33 PM

R33 I think you captured why people are so taken with this case perfectly.

When I look at her pictures I do not see someone mugging for the camera trying to look sexy with a trout pout, she comes across as clean and wholesome, a person enjoying America the beautiful and wanting to share it with the world.

by Anonymousreply 76September 21, 2021 5:53 PM

by Anonymousreply 77September 21, 2021 5:55 PM

You know those Amber Alerts? The ones that set off your smartphone like it’s the end of the world, and light up all the electric road signs on highways for hours on end? 68% of those are minorities and 38% are white. Actually the statistical reverse of the actual population. These alerts are also reported extensively on the radio and TV.

POC may be underrepresented in tabloid social media, but are definitely represented where it matters most; at the root of the crime, where pertinent global information saves lives.

The missing blonde scenario is so hoary at this point that Joy should be happy that POC aren’t being drawn into the circus.

Now do the seven children who were just droned in Afghanistan. Have you given a thought for them or do they not count specifically because assholes like you only pay attention to those types of people if a single one does something wrong but when they are murdered, you become the "retard" who doesn't care.

by Anonymousreply 83September 21, 2021 6:11 PM

R60 is hilarious. She should have just played that clip because it illustrates her point brilliantly.....and with humor.

by Anonymousreply 84September 21, 2021 6:12 PM

She's more than just not black, she's not fat (worthless), not ugly (also worthless), not a mother (whore), not a wife (bitch/nag), not pierced/tatted all over (drug whore Satan).

People get intrigued when they can't justify someone's murder in the court of their minds. If she were white plus any of the above, she'd be lucky to make three cycles on the local news only. Media likes pretty people. Just white doesn't cut it.

by Anonymousreply 85September 21, 2021 6:12 PM

I think we are all tribal in nature. We can't help but identify with people we recognize. Gabby looks like someone most white people know and love (daughters, sisters, friends, etc.). If black people are honest, they don't GAF about her for the same reason. They can't relate to her. They are much more concerned with black lives.

by Anonymousreply 86September 21, 2021 6:13 PM

Most sex crimes and crimes of passion are intra-racial, not inter-racial. There are some notable exceptions (Gary Ridgeway). As inter-racial relationships become more prominent, this dynamic is changing slightly but it’s still a fair generalization.

Will Joy Reid be happy if increased attention to missing/murdered WOC brings increased focus on MOC perps?

by Anonymousreply 87September 21, 2021 6:13 PM

Dear Joy,

No one would miss you if you were gone.

by Anonymousreply 91September 21, 2021 6:19 PM

R13. The murders of Native American women is awful - but very complex in terms of investigation. Most these women are killed by known associates/family members/extended kin who live on the reservations - who have proven to be extremely reticent in providing LEOs useful information to solve these murders.

by Anonymousreply 92September 21, 2021 6:20 PM

There. I said it.

by Anonymousreply 93September 21, 2021 6:22 PM

I hope this cunt gets cancelled soon. She’s so disrespectful.

by Anonymousreply 94September 21, 2021 6:23 PM

Oh, please, r86, If she were fat, no one would give a shit. It's specifically because she's passable for attractive that people "care." I'm reminded of the Family Guy episode when they go to James Woods house for a dinner and Quagmire's fat girlfriend gets killed and Stewie says "I can't help but feel this would be sadder if she wasn't so heavy."

It has nothing to do with tribal shit since this placed mocked a friggin baby being dwarf-tossed off a cruise ship.

by Anonymousreply 95September 21, 2021 6:26 PM

Nope. No one is thinking of that. Americans cum to the thought of a white girl being killed by her boyfriend or husband. White women have always been protected. This includes big black men raping or making passes at them in the time of slavery and segregation. It’s part of American history.

by Anonymousreply 103September 21, 2021 6:32 PM

R98, the caveat is that they must be passably attractive for media/DL to care. No one cares when ugly people go missing.

Way back in the 80’s a pretty Black schoolmate of mine was murdered by her boyfriend at their well-known midwestern liberal arts college. She was middle/upper middle class and popular in our high school. She was active in school clubs and a Homecoming Princess. When she was murdered it was covered by the Washington Post and all of the other media outlets in DC. As well, it was covered by the media outlets in the Midwestern state where the college was located.

My (95 percent white classmates) and their parents were disgusted and horrified by her murder. She had a bright future ahead of her that was mercilessly snuffed out. People paid attention because she was beloved and from the community and if it could happen to her it could happen to anyone’s daughter.

Lol R113.

You win the thread.

by Anonymousreply 115September 21, 2021 6:43 PM

Nope R111

Caller: We drove by them. A gentleman was slapping the girl

Dispatcher: He was slapping her?

Caller: Yes. And then we stopped. They ran up and down the sidewalk. He proceeded to hit her, hops in the car. And they drove off

[quote]Tucker has had gay people sub for him and has regular gay guests.

I'm actually embarrassed for you that you wrote this and thought you "scored." Now tell us about Trump being the most pro-gay president. hey, did you also know Liz Cheney has a lesbian sister?

by Anonymousreply 117September 21, 2021 6:44 PM

She is a bitch with no feelings. She can't supress her anti white racism even in such most horrible case for the family of missing person. I despise her.

by Anonymousreply 118September 21, 2021 6:46 PM

I cannot stand Joy Reid. I purposefully avoid her show, skipping the 7-8 hour to watch ANYONE ELSE, before going back for Chris Hayes.

by Anonymousreply 119September 21, 2021 6:49 PM

[quote]She is a bitch with no feelings. She can't supress her anti white racism even in such most horrible case for the family of missing person. I despise her.

No, what she's doing is what guys like you do all of the time. Spare us your crocodile tears. You don't actually give a shit. This is just a cudgel for you disingenuous assholes who never give a fuck when other people die in all sorts of gruesome ways. Tons of people go missing and tons get killed in horrifying ways and you couldn't give less of a shit. You're only invested because the media highlighted it and you guys obsess over this shit and you already hate Reid. The fact that she black is a bonus because you can be extra venomous in your hate.

by Anonymousreply 120September 21, 2021 6:50 PM

she is* black

by Anonymousreply 121September 21, 2021 6:51 PM

R120 Reid is straight spitting facts and people can't handle it.

by Anonymousreply 122September 21, 2021 6:51 PM

So when men of color are on the news for committing violent crimes, is that Violent Black Man Syndrome? How would that go over in the Black community? If people spoke hard truths? She is not wrong but to dish it means you should be able to take it. Something tells me that wouldn’t go over well. And also, the girl seemed insufferable and self-absorbed but she *just* died so can we refrain from publicly minimizing the loss of life, just for like 5 minutes?

by Anonymousreply 123September 21, 2021 6:56 PM

R13) If a missing indigenous woman was hot and a college student, she would get attention. Yes, people focus on to whom they can relate. Failing that, the missing woman must be young and conventionally hot in order to get attention.

by Anonymousreply 124September 21, 2021 6:56 PM

Wrong

by Anonymousreply 125September 21, 2021 6:57 PM

R124 Absolutely not. I'd actually restrict 'missing white woman syndrome' to 'missing blonde woman syndrome'. No one cares when a brunette goes missing. It's always blonde women.

by Anonymousreply 126September 21, 2021 7:00 PM

I cant imagine what kind of woman is this TV talking head. When a person is missing it must be the most dreadful feeling, not knowing what happened to your beloved one. This evening my little dog got lost in the seaside town here in Croatia where we are on hollydays, and I was terified. The local people were trying to help. Even if it's a dog they were compassionate. We found her in the end. And this monster doesn't show the little compassion for a very young girl and her family. She could have at least kept that stupid evil mouth shut.

by Anonymousreply 127September 21, 2021 7:00 PM

[quote]Way back in the 80’s a pretty Black schoolmate of mine was murdered by her boyfriend at their well-known midwestern liberal arts college. .... People paid attention because she was beloved and from the community and if it could happen to her it could happen to anyone’s daughter.

Is it lost on you that you had to go all the way back to the 80's to find an example, R114?

by Anonymousreply 128September 21, 2021 7:01 PM

I don't know that she even needs to be hot, Yingying Zhang got a lot of attention and she was adorable, but not hot. Same with Annie Le.

by Anonymousreply 129September 21, 2021 7:02 PM

R126 Right. And that is a “straight man and his boner” syndrome. Tale as old as time. That will never change.

People are comfortable in their victimhood. So long as they are shrouded in it, accountability doesn’t have to be considered.

by Anonymousreply 130September 21, 2021 7:03 PM

Joy Reid will never be fired from MSNBC.

Rashida Jones loves it. She probably encourages it.

I knew this would happen, once she was in charge at MSNBC.

by Anonymousreply 131September 21, 2021 7:05 PM

[quote]I'm actually embarrassed for you that you wrote this and thought you "scored." Now tell us about Trump being the most pro-gay president. hey, did you also know Liz Cheney has a lesbian sister?

Still talking about Trump? You're the one who is embarassing.

I simply stated a fact. At least Tucker has had gay people sub for him and has a number of regular openly gay guests. Make of it what you will.

Now tell us: what about homophobe Joy Reid?

by Anonymousreply 132September 21, 2021 7:05 PM

Joy should get her iodine level checked. Considering her baldness and the size of that goiter, synthroid + some table salt added to her diet would do wonders. Might even make her less hateful.

by Anonymousreply 133September 21, 2021 7:06 PM

This case of the missing postal worker gets plenty of coverage here in Chicago. She's a good looking black pregnant woman.

R134 and it will stay a local story.

by Anonymousreply 135September 21, 2021 7:09 PM

R126 I respectfully disagree. I said hot and“college student.” That could also be “young professional.” If the person is ‘relatable’ and conventionally gorgeous they generally get media attention.

Sadly, at risk women of any race do not get much media attention. A gorgeous murdered prostitute will not generate much coverage even if she was blonde, unless she was a call girl to the rich, powerful and famous.

by Anonymousreply 136September 21, 2021 7:09 PM

The nasty things they said, and the tactics they used, toward Pete Buttigieg, don't endear me to Joy Reid, Jason Johnson and the Root gang.

by Anonymousreply 137September 21, 2021 7:22 PM

Would she prefer to be white and missing (maybe in most horrid circumstances) or black and talking racist bullshit on TV? She is even envious to a white girl in the most awful situation, she is really a sick woman.

And besides being evil she is ugly, too.

by Anonymousreply 138September 21, 2021 7:22 PM

R128 You completely missed my point. I used that example precisely because it was the 80’s to illustrate that even 35 years ago, long before social media and SJWs there was national media coverage of/and people who paid attention to the murder of a young Black woman in the community. The attention was paid because she was relatable to a large group of news-watchers, not because she was white, black or blond.

The Washington Post has and has had coverage of missing WOC for years.

by Anonymousreply 139September 21, 2021 7:29 PM

she's not wrong though

by Anonymousreply 140September 21, 2021 7:31 PM

Who cares? Killjoy can either play along or lose viewers to the shows that do. This is a story that people care about no matter how much it pisses her off.

by Anonymousreply 141September 21, 2021 7:37 PM

R11 Yes and no. It’s all about entertainment value. Let’s not kid ourselves, the news whether CNN or Social Media, or something else is all about entertainment. There is more entertainment value in a missing pretty white girl than an ugly one, and there is more entertainment value in a pretty missing black girl than an ugly white one, but all things being equal, the pretty who’re girl will get all the attention. Just the way things are, snd frankly I don’t give a damn. My concern is on a different level and that’s the attention law enforcement might give to a missing white person versus a black one. Entertainment value is not a facto here.

by Anonymousreply 142September 21, 2021 7:39 PM

R126 Remember Chandra Levy?

by Anonymousreply 143September 21, 2021 7:59 PM

R143 That was a political story. In the end, her murder was completely random, but the fact that it was a congressman who bizarrely implicated himself in interviews, was what gave the story fuel.

by Anonymousreply 144September 21, 2021 8:02 PM

What about gay Alan White in Dallas?. The local media did next to nothing to put pressure on police to solve his murder.

[quote]You completely missed my point.

No, I didn't R139. I know what you were TRYING to say.

My point was that you made a point you didn't intend to make by using an example from THAT far back when there should be countless other examples over the years like we could all name for white women.

by Anonymousreply 147September 21, 2021 8:41 PM

We keep hearing about the power of black twitter. So why don't they promote missing black women stories?

by Anonymousreply 148September 21, 2021 8:51 PM

60% of the population is white… The Black population is around 13%. Therefore there will always be greater interest in white girls that go missing, Add in young, pretty, well off and a high social media presence. Until these demographics change Joy Reid will just have to deal with this!

by Anonymousreply 149September 21, 2021 8:59 PM

OP is a Republican who links to Fox News. Ignore

by Anonymousreply 150September 21, 2021 9:00 PM

R149, black people make up about 40% of missing people. Missing people tend to be poor minorities, not the white sorority girls who get all the media attention

by Anonymousreply 151September 21, 2021 9:01 PM

R148, they do. White people ignore them

by Anonymousreply 152September 21, 2021 9:02 PM

R146, I'm sure the white MRA dataloungers who sided with her boyfriend and said the killing must have been an accident (Sure Jan!) were a great comfort to her family

by Anonymousreply 153September 21, 2021 9:03 PM

I'm glad someone said something about this: While the case is sad and weird and made even moreso by the missing boyfriend, the national coverage is way out of proportion and over the top. Women of color go missing all the damned time. Is it because she was a leggy blonde!? Jesus PETE.

by Anonymousreply 154September 21, 2021 9:05 PM

R107, you mean Tucker the gay rights hero who laughed about beating up a gay guy and joined the Dan White Society

You Republicans are a scream. Joy Reid doesn't hate white people but Tucker Carlson is definitely a white supremacist

by Anonymousreply 155September 21, 2021 9:06 PM

No self respecting gay person gives a rats ass about Joy Reid.

This is the same moron who spent all last week covering the Nicki Minaj story, like there wasn't anything else important going on?

Fuck her.

by Anonymousreply 156September 21, 2021 9:13 PM

While she is telling the truth it is not helpful.

by Anonymousreply 157September 21, 2021 9:26 PM

I used to like AM Joy and watched it often. I was happy when MSNBC got rid of whatsisface and gave her the slot. But she's become unbearable. She screams all the time and does nothing but race-bait. And the vitriol she poured out about the Gabby girl was pure jealousy and hate.

Jonathan Capehart saved her job for her when she should have been fired about all her homophobic blogs. So if you're black, you don't get cancelled by 'woke' culture. Interesting.

by Anonymousreply 158September 21, 2021 9:32 PM

Aren’t the majority of female murder victims killed by their partners? That would mean that most missing-Black-woman cases would end in the hunt for, and arrest of, a Black man. That might not be the best thing to blast all over the news night after night.

Nicki Minaj is a Trumpster cunt who is now the darling of the right. She isn't a friend to gay people. She also attacks rape victims

by Anonymousreply 161September 22, 2021 2:13 AM

R159, not all missing people are murder victims

by Anonymousreply 162September 22, 2021 2:13 AM

R156, your idol Tucker Carlson is the one who is obsessed with Nicki. She's his new favorite since she's an anti-vaxxer cunt

by Anonymousreply 163September 22, 2021 2:14 AM

R157, apparently it's more helpful to lie

You guys would rather kiss up to a right-wing anti-vaxxer twat than listen to the truth

by Anonymousreply 164September 22, 2021 2:15 AM

Tucker isn't anti vaccine. He just says that it shouldn't be compelled and that it should be a decision made between patient and doctor. Even now, there is a lot of serious debate about the booster. For some, the decision to take the vaccine should be obvious, but for others, it's not.

by Anonymousreply 165September 22, 2021 6:02 AM

I often wonder if Joy is really that stupid, or if she just plays it on TV.

by Anonymousreply 166September 22, 2021 6:04 AM

R147 What’s not lost on me is if you truly care about media representation of missing WOC you could use this time raising awareness and volunteering for a missing POC group like “Black and Missing” rather than posting on a gossip site.

by Anonymousreply 167September 22, 2021 6:06 AM

One thing that is severely lacking in all Covid studies is natural immunity and antibodies. Tucker is correct when he points that out.

by Anonymousreply 168September 22, 2021 6:07 AM

[quote]What’s not lost on me is if you truly ...

Blah, blah, blah.

It was lost on you and you refuse to admit you were wrong. It's okay to admit that you're wrong sometimes. Nothing will happen. You won't get struck by lighting. The Kremlin won't collapse. The skies will not fall down. There could have been a genuinely productive discussion but you decided to be a little punk ass bitch.

You really just responded with, "Person, I do not know! If you cared you wouldn't be on the same website I am also ... somehow using 30 seconds of your life I do not know or understand ... posting about the ... same thing ... I'm ... also ... posting ... about."

by Anonymousreply 169September 22, 2021 6:19 AM

r168, that is ridiculous and irrelevant. When evaluating the statistics of admitted Covid+ patients, it is clearly seen that over 95% of the hospital admits are unvaccinated. It is easy to conclude that natural immunities need the assistance of vaccines. Vaccines are a simple shot given twice for free. Monoclonal Antibodies, and I challenge any anti-vaxxer to tell me when they were approved, how they were approved, what's in them, they cost thousands of dollars and take an infusion regimen akin to sitting for dialysis and why they are a better option?

Sorry, Tucker is wrong.

He appeals to the willfully ignorant who have been politicized.

by Anonymousreply 170September 22, 2021 6:22 AM

[quote]One thing that is severely lacking in all Covid studies is natural immunity and antibodies. Tucker is correct when he points that out.

No, he's not, there's plenty of research on the subject. Consensus is that prior covid infection plus one shot equals the very best protection against (re)infection and hospitalization.

by Anonymousreply 171September 22, 2021 12:09 PM

by Anonymousreply 172September 30, 2021 4:47 AM

Joy has always been a racist piece of garbage. Its confusing why she is still employed much less on the air.

by Anonymousreply 173September 30, 2021 4:49 AM

This week Joy has an "asymmetrical" hairdon't. The left side (facing us) is full and floppy, and the opposite side is trim and short.

She reminds me of a poodle shaking itself after a bath.

by Anonymousreply 174September 30, 2021 7:01 PM

She needs to stop with the midlife crisis silly wigs.

by Anonymousreply 175September 30, 2021 7:11 PM

Stop trying to drum up racism with each and every broad discussion!

by Anonymousreply 183November 3, 2021 6:12 PM

The wigs are a neutral. Girl got teefs.

by Anonymousreply 184November 3, 2021 7:14 PM

I used to always watch Joy when she had her show on the weekend. But since she took over Matthews' slot she has turned into a screeching harpy, always screaming, a racism one noter. And those wigs.... Can't watch her anymore.

by Anonymousreply 185November 3, 2021 7:38 PM

But EVERYTHING that is creating strife in America is a direct result of White Racist Supremacy.

BLM, Confederate statues, Defund the Police, CRT/real American history, the Border Crisis, Voter Suppression, Women's Healthcare, Ignoring Climate Change.

All happening at the same time because White People are pulling out all the stops to stay in CONTROL when their numbers are diminishing. Add to the list the Electoral College, Senate Republicans and the SCOTUS all fucked up because White People DEMAND we ALL live according to their WHITE RULES.

by Anonymousreply 186November 3, 2021 7:46 PM
