Circumcised guys: how and when in your childhood did you realise your body had been surgically altered?

Honestly, I never really think about it. My dad isn’t cut, so when I used to shower with him when I was a kid I did notice the difference. I don’t remember asking questions. I have always known my body like this, can’t really imagine anything different.

How come your did isn't cut and you are?

I first saw an uncut cock in 7th grade and was freaked out. To me, they look creepy.

I have had sex with two brothers. The older brother named Jeff was circumcised. The younger brother named Jason was not.

Neither brother knew that I had had sex with the other so I couldn’t quiz them on the subject or even let on that I had been with the other.

They were full biological brothers. Not step brothers or half brothers nor was either one of them adopted. They were born to the same parents and raised in the same home as brothers and yet one was cut the other was intact.

I found that odd.

Each of them were well endowed. The circumcised brother was a little longer than average and quite thick. The intact brother had a very long and quite thin dick.

Fishing trip with dad and his friend. I was like six or so. Friend came into pee while I was brushing my teeth maybe. I, of course, looked over and saw him pull back his foreskin. I did ask my dad why and I learned about cut and uncut. Although, my doctor just took off the tip and I kinda look uncut. I call it Eurocut, but I am not Euro.

My dad is uncut and I'm cut. I never thought much about it, I figured I'd grow a foreskin as I matured. All the other boys were cut so it made sense we'd all grow a foreskin

My experience was somewhat similar to R1. There was no great revelation. My father and I were not circumcised but I grew up in the U.S. when most males were. He explained that some males were cut and some not, that this used to fall along religious grounds but increasingly less so.

I didn't know I was circumcised until college. My parents never talked about it, it was a very common practice to circumcise when I was born. They also didn't cover circumcision in any of my sex ed classes, as far as I can remember.

The first time i saw an uncircumcised dick was in Boy Scouts. One kid in our troop was uncircumcised, and I remember looking at it & thinking he was circumcised, because all I knew about circumcision was that they "removed" stuff down there. Since the tip of his penis was hidden under the foreskin, I thought circumcision = they cut the tip of the penis off! This was in the 80s, so I couldn't just google "circumcision". I thought my own penis was uncircumcised because DUH, every boy in Scouts had the same-looking penis.

I know I'm not alone with this confusion; I've dated at least three guys who did not know one way or the other. One guy was uncircumcised, didn't know what circumcision was, asked his mom about it one day on the phone (I was sitting there) and she exclaimed "You're circumcised! I know you are! The hospital did it, I know they did....." 😮

Yet another odd thing about the US is that circumcision became standard from the mid-20th century whereas it didn’t in the rest of the world where it didn’t result from religious practices. Weird, strange, bizarre country in so many ways.

They must have talked about it in my initial sex ed class in 4th or 5th grade. I remember they said uncircumcised penises had an extra flap of skin at the end and for years I imagined that to look like a turkey wattle.

I also was confused about what religions circumcised their kids. I thought Jews must be uncircumcised since my family was Christian and I was circumcised. I imagined the one Jewish boy in my class had that extra turkey flap and I spent a lot of time wondering how it looked and functioned.

Like R1, my dad was intact, my brother and I were both circumcised. I just remember my dad looking different than me, but really it wasn't that important or traumatic.

And, R9, I 100% agree. I don't know why this became such a polarizing topic several years ago. Grown men were moaning that their parents had "mutilated" them....grow the fuck up.

I don't know where the myth arose that circumcision prevents masturbation—or (in milder form) that circumcised guys need lube to masturbate, or have some such disadvantage. You'd think with hundreds of millions or more circumcised men for centuries there would be ample counter-evidence—particularly in the US of the last century or so where a culture of general circumcision doesn't seem to have stopped the sexual revolution from going forward in every way, shape, and form.

8th grade. A kid had moved here from Germany. He was uncut and maybe a year older than the rest of us in 8th grade. Huge bush and uncut. I sort of knew of circumcision then but had never seen an uncut one. I was mesmerized. He was on the swim team as was I and would see him changing in the locker room.

I didn’t know I was uncircumcised until swimming lessons with Pakistani classmates. The world didn’t end for any of us.

I was born in 1976 and began seeing other guys naked at swim practice when I was 8, then all through Scout camp and high school and college sports. I didn't see a single uncut dick until a boyfriend whipped his (big one) out in 2001.

Now it seems like every other guy you see naked online is uncut. But it used to be a real rarity.

White Southerner here. Saw my first uncircumcised dick on a black kid in gym class after integration of the schools in 1970. Knew what it was, tried not stare, and this sighting was a topic of conversation in carpool that afternoon.

Circumcision was the norm when I grew up. Showers were required in 7-9 grade and there were no uncut guys. In 10th grade one kid never showered until the last week. He was uncut. The only other guys in school who were uncut that I saw were two foreign exchange students, one from Germany the other from South America. So it was the norm.

When I was little, two friends of mine compared dinks as we called them. One of them told us that his would be longer except they cut off the end. Years later I remembered that and realized he probably heard about circumcision, but didn't fully understand it. LOL

I've never regretted being cut. I've encountered too many situations reminiscent of piss and cheese with uncut guys.

Today, I proactively take a pass. There's an Australian guy who wants to get together. It'd be my first physical contact in three years, but I can't stomach the idea of foreskin residue.

R13 I, too, came to wonder if I was circumcised only recently. My parents never talked about it. I had a small, unrelated surgery on my penis when I was about 10, so I start to believe maybe that surgery was asked to double as a circumcision by my parents because they thought it'd be... more hygienic?

I was circumcised by an intern who didn't do it right. I didn't find that out until later, but when I was little, my penis had a ring of skin that stuck out below the head. I just thought they were all like that until I saw other ones. As I grew, it eventually stretched out and didn't look like that anymore.

The first uncut penis I saw was a neighbor boy's. The skin hung way beyond the tip, and I was perplexed, wondering how the pee came out.

I don't have any strong feelings one way or the other about being (semi) cut, and I don't have a preference on other guys.

Shocked, angry, resentful? No. Never thought anything had been done to it. Some think its traumatic to do that to someone. That's crazy. Do you remember anything from when you were a baby?

I honestly didn’t know I was circumcised until I was 14, and I overheard my mom telling a friend a story about my botched circumcism shortly after birth. Apparently I almost bled out when the stitching came undone.

It was kind of an “aha” moment for me because even though I hadn’t seen a lot of penises, mine looked no different from the other boys’. However, I do recall being disgusted at the age of 7 when I looked over at another boy at the urinal, and noticed his penis looked strange. Now I can recognize he was uncircumcised.

I remember seeing an uncircumcised boy in our shower in high school, and he had a very long foreskin. Later when I had my first sexual encounter with an uncircumcised guy, long after my first sexual experience, I realized how much I had enjoyed it more. I could feel their penis on my hand for like a day afterwards, and orally, it was much more exciting for me when they had a foreskin that stay above the head when they were erect. I'm not exactly upset that I ended up snipped, because I'm used to it now, but there was definitely a difference in the enjoyment of certain sexual acts, especially with darker-skinned men.

The reason for me was - at 3 years old I developed an infection in the foreskin and it had to be cut.

It's such a bizarre barbaric practice. To think that it went on into the late twentieth century, and still goes on, while Governments try to stamp out female genital mutilation, is incredible. I feel sorry for circumsised men who'll never know the pleasure of a foreskin because they're missing a shitload of nerve endings. It's just natural that the head should be protected and kept soft and moist rather than dry and hardened. And circumcision scars look fucking dreadful.

I would be livid if my parents had not had me circumcised. I find uncut dicks revolting. Even ones that are properly cleaned have an unmistakable smell. Hard pass.....literally and figuratively.

There is no difference between circumcising an infant boy vs piercing an infant girl's ears. A few minutes of pain that the child will never remember.

I’m circumcised and wish I still had my foreskin. However, me and the billions of men who have been circumcised before are still capable of being sexually gratified. To pretend we suffer as much as women who’ve been circumcised is pure fiction.

In junior high, we had to shower in the group shower after PE. One guy was exempt. Seventh grade rolled into eighth grade and he started showering with us. I noticed that he had an angry red head on his dick. I didn't ask him, but another boy said he was circumsized during the summer.

During my junior year, I was an exchange student. While showering after PE at the school, I saw my first uncircumsized dicks. A classmate asked me if I was Jewish (I'm not). I said no, and he asked, then why I was circumsized. I had no idea what he was talking about, but a parade of classmates then stared at my dick.
