I'm still having a problem with 'they' as a pronoun for binaries. It's not that I don't want them to have their own pronoun. It's more that the pronoun is inevitably a social fauxpas. Language is supposed to make living together easier. When you get to know an individual you need to make an assumption to address the person. And obviously you assume that an individual who looks like a butch man is a man or an individual who looks like a feminine woman is a woman. If this assumption is wrong, then awkward explanations and apologies commence. Maybe we need to rethink pronouns altogether?
