I think prior to Trump most Log Cabin members WERE truly fiscal Republicans, with a smattering of foreign policy hawks and a few crazies. Even old timey "liberal Republicans" a la Nelson Rockefeller at least in New York. That's why they did not endorse Trump the first time. Many supported Jeb Bush or Marco Rubio (who was not as crazy then). After Trump's win and during his four years many left the Party and Log Cabin and the MAGA moved in and took it over.
