Thing is if you have a reservation (usually made through an app like resy or open table) they have your name and details already. So all you really need to do is have your app (excelsior pass, clear, whatever) match the name under the reservation. I think once I’ve been asked to show my ID on top of all that and it was mildly annoying (and unnecessary), but I didn’t leave.
