Wife Of Firefighter Who Mysteriously Died In Cancun Shares Why She Believes He May Have Been Murdered
Jamie Snow says that on the first night of her anniversary vacation with her husband, Elijah, she woke up at 4 a.m. and her husband of 10 years was not in their hotel room. She says after searching the resort where they were staying in Cancun and being unable to find him, she alerted the hotel staff.
Hours later, she says she was taken to a police station where she learned her husband had died. Authorities claim Elijah, a firefighter, got stuck in a small window and died of compressional asphyxiation.
Jamie, however, says she believes her husband’s death wasn’t accidental – it was murder. In the video above from an exclusive interview with Dr. Phil airing Monday, the mom of two shares how she believes her husband may have been killed.
On Monday’s episode, “Murder in Mexico? Exclusive: Firefighter's Wife Claims Husband's Death Was Not an Accident,” hear what Jamie claims happened when she asked the hotel to see video from their security cameras.

And she will never know the answer. When you vacation a third world country you take the risk. Mexico is a dangerous country.

R8 Look at the autopsy photos. The poor guy was covered in large bruises. How did he get them?

Snuck out for a hookup and got held up/murdered. Gringos think they don’t have anything to worry about in Mexico. Poor guy.

The Mexican government/police are incredibly corrupt. I would never go back with what I now know.

He probably wanted to score some drugs and something went wrong. That is the most likely explanation.

Got stuck in a small window? Where?
I refuse to give any clicks or visits to a Dr. Phil website.

Yep sex or drugs. Probably got catfished by some scumbag and police made it look like an accident. Murdered gringos are bad for tourism.

He was a firefighter in good shape...How did he get stuck in a window? Also she said the toxology report said he only had alcohol in his system...But what was his alcohol blood content?

He was probably killed during a mugging gone wrong, and to avoid a murdered tourist reputation that kills tourism in the area, local officials conspired to push him into a window at a local hotel and make it look like an “accident” he brought on himself rather than a crime that makes the area look dangerous. Sounds ridiculous, but in Mexico, corruption makes many things possible.

Making the wife pay 100 dollars for each photo of her dead husband is classic Mexican police bullshit. Every fucker in Mexico requires a bribe for anything.

Since when was “put him in a windowsill” a classic murder coverup?

This is sort of OT but is a heartfelt PSA to anybody who reads this and thinks they can go to any part of Mexico that caters to tourists and get shit stinking dronk (sic). An ex-boyfriend went down there and went to some bar and got stinko paralytico on tequila. He woke up in an alley after being rolled. His wallet was missing and he had a massive hangover. I didn't want to scare him and tell him he could've woken up with a missing kidney, or not have woken up at all. I'm fond of him but he was always making these stupid mistakes (one time a straight co worker punched him really hard and he fell into a the side of a dumpster and his head hit one of those things shaped like a coin but only 5x bigger. Luckily a coworker found him. The police told the coworker they'd let her take him home but under no circumstances was she to let him fall asleep, for fear that he'd lapse into a coma and might cause brain damage. He went to work the next day with a bandana tied to his head and blood oozed from the wound. I mean, how do you get through to these people that they're putting themselves in such dangerous positions?

We had a ton of threads on this because the family kept saying his death was mysterious, but once we found out the husband was not only drunk but had tried to climb in/out of a shower in an abandoned basement room (or storage room) it became clear that he just couldn't get any purchase on the slick wall and accidentally asphyxiated himself. His chest was laying on top of the small window's sill and it must have been pressing pretty hard on his lungs.
Please to enjoy this thread about it addressed to DL "Slueths."

So, what did the wife say about why she believes her husband may have been murdered?
The bruises aren't reasons, R8. Did she think he was robbed or something else? Like R14 I don't care to give a click to Dr. Phil.

But that doesn't explain the bruises on his legs and forehead.
They're all over his body.

This is when it would be useful to have some kind of recording device implanted in our brains like a Black Mirror episode.

I am extremely surprised that was no bruising on his ribs from the window — wouldn’t something that compressed a grown mans lungs (through all of his muscle tissue too!) leave a bruise? When you look at the forehead photo, that one looks linear, like they tried to stage the body and slammed the window down, but it hit his head instead of his ribcage. That bruise is a perfect straight line, and the swelling is even a straight line too, I’ve never seen a head injury like that before.
I agree with others that the bruises all over his body don’t match the scenario. Also, if you look at his back, aren’t those two puncture wounds? It looks like he may have been stabbed, but I can’t tell for sure.
