Tasteful Friends: Paul Williams' in Holmby Hills

This is a beautiful property.

It is beautiful (except for those stupid paintings in the dining room, but hopefully they don't convey). Plus it's right off Sunset Blvd, the same stretch of road Joe's speeding down at the start of the film.

It's lovely, I could move right in except for the lack of money.

I'm not a big designer know it all but the furniture and stuff is cozy looking but too much on the blah white to beige scale for me. I prefer a nice front porch, not that half circle and columns thing, but I understand Holmby Hills is not a front porch style neighborhood.

The backyard is like a beautiful park and I love a poolside caftan lifestyle suggested by this patio and yard.

I'd put a LOT more color into it, but the house itself is absolutely beautiful. Very tasteful.

All the gray and beige does bleed the life out of the place, and if someone gave the place to me tax-free I'd have to spend the first year redecorating like a madman! Then and only then, it would emerge as a lovely comfortable home where a person can relax and be themselves, even if it cost ten mil.

One question - WTF is an oil painting of a beach scene doing over the bathtub??? If you shower, won't you damage it? And if the shower is separate, wouldn't the steam from the bathtub damage the painting? PLEASE tell me that was staged by the realtor!

A little wholesome for my taste but it looks as though it would be really easy and comfortable to live in.

I consider myself fairly well-off (net worth ~$3M) but I couldn't even afford the property taxes on this place.

God damn that is some awful staging. Prices are out of control - we need a correction. This shit is ridiculous.
