I don't know what a qualifier is but apparently she was ranked 150th and worked her way from the bottom, winning 20 sets straight to win the US Open. I don't think anyone has accomplished that.
She and the other teen will be big stars. They are both so cute and articulate, especially Emma who is very pretty.

These two teens are both very cute and bubbly and really savored the moment. I think the one thing that helped Emma win was she simply enjoyed playing and didn't let anything phase her.
She will be doing a cover shoot for Teen Vogue and Glamour magazine soon.

She’s articulate, humble, and has a combination of beauty, intelligence (A-level in math), and talent. I bet all the corporate sponsors are jizzing in their pants right now, trying to figure out ways to sign Emma up. If she keeps winning, she can easily be the new Sharapova with combination of looks and talent to match. She’s even prettier than Sharapova at her peak, and at age18, Emma possesses so much more poise than Sharapova, who always came off as being stuck-up.
With Naomi Osaka finally deciding to take time off instead of acting out her emotional implosion in public, Emma is coming into the tennis scene at just the right time.
