Most actors just say they're a producer to feed their own ego. A total vanity project. I know Natalie Portman has been responsible for producing two of the big bombs: Jane Got a Gun and Vox Lux. The broad shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a production office. Do you know of any other actors who've tried their hand at producing and failed?

Wasn't Alicia Silverstone given some absurd multi-picture production deal right after CLUELESS? Oh, the irony....
She was very young at the time and obviously, ill-equipped to produce anything.

Per IMDB, on Alicia's deal:
[CLUELESS] was a huge box-office hit and wowed both audiences and critics alike and demonstrated Alicia's strength and bankability. She was hailed as the woman of the hour, and branded the spokeswoman for an emerging young generation. She signed a deal with Columbia TriStar worth $10 million and got the coveted role of Batgirl in the Batman franchise. Also, as part of the package, she received a three-year first-look deal for her own production company, First Kiss Productions. The first film released by First Kiss was Excess Baggage (1997).
Stop me if you've even HEARD of Excess Baggage.
$10 million....

I saw Excess Baggage in my teens. It featured Benicio del Toro. I did enjoy Alicia Silverstone’s other producing effort Blast From The Past with Brendan Fraser, Sissy Spacek and Christopher Walken.
As for Natty Nat Natalie Portman, she also pussed out of making Days Of Abandonment with HBO, from the fucking great Elena Ferrante novel, because Australia was going into a second lockdown and she was papped over 10km from her home at a beach with Sacha Baron Cohen, and she wanted to immediately leave the country.

R1, I don't think she produced those films more so she got 3 film production deal. Excess Baggage, Batman & Robin, and can't remember the 3rd.
