But I'm a Cheerleader (1999)
Great campy fun with Natasha Lyonne, RuPaul, Clea Duvall, Eddie Cibrian while he was still hot, and eternal scene-stealer Cathy Moriarty.
I saw it when it was in the theaters and remember it being fluffy and fun. I was reminded of it recently when Muna and Phoebe Bridgers paid homage to it in the video for their recent collaboration, Silk Chiffon.
Anyone watch it recently? How does it hold up?

I watched it ten years ago and I remember thinking that it looked really cheap.

Both things are true: it is fluffy and a lot of fun AND it looks like it was shot for $1.98. Seriously.
I miss cheap indie-style 90s movies. If people are doing anything similar these days, it's for TikTok or YouTube, and it's not feature-length.

Loved it when it came out. Haven't seen it since.

Never saw this. It looks like fun. I've fallen in love with the lesbian cheerleader's 70s style brown plaid sofa.

I like this movie too. I always forget Rufio is in it.

It's free with commercials on the Roku channel. I made it halfway through before I gave up. It was cute but there wasn't enough eye candy to keep me interested. I bet it's great if you are a youngish lesbian who is into white girls.
