I hope she can rally. She's too young to be down for the count. Lung cancer is what my mom died from, but apparently it's a lot more treatable now.

IMO, Kathy was healthier as a D-Lister and outsider. She got her foot in the door (insider) and I think it really messed her up. She thought everybody was her friend, she needed more and more public assurance.

R15 Are you familiar with cancer? It's not exactly a 100% success / survival rate.

Having a lobe of your lung removed is a very painful and difficult surgery to bounce back from. She’ll recover. It just takes time. The trick is not to be one the unlucky 20% with lung cancer recurrence, often at an advanced stage. Fingers crossed. I like her.

A drunken Jon Ham was rude to her at some dinner party. Called her old and ugly. Fuck Jon Hamm and his pap stroll hired "girlfriend".

I fucking love, LOVE, Kathy Griffin. If you’re reading this, you can make it through. It’s a slow journey, so don’t give up. Many of us out here have always had your back.

I had tickets to her show here in London, but my husband got sick and I couldn’t go (he was fine, the big baby). I still kick myself that I didn’t go.

I dislike her brand of comedy, although I admire her for tenacity in staying in the business and making a fabulous life for herself. Having surgery on major organ and a portion of major organ removed is no joke. Your body first recovers from the acute stage right after surgery, that’s the painful stage. But then you really feel the full effects of the body adjusting itself up to a year after surgery. I had liver resection surgery for multiple tumors which were thought to be cancerous; biopsies couldn’t confirm (turned out to be idiopathic, benign). The first 6 months was tough, but I was in my 30s and very fit when a part of my liver was removed 5 years ago, and I didn’t even have chemotherapy unlike Kathy. I can only imagine the fatigue and mental distress of unknown future/ prognosis that she must be feeling. Wouldn’t wish that on anyone, and I wish Kathy all the best.

Yeah, plus the last fucking place to be right now is in a hospital.

R25 I had an ex who had similar tumors to yours (benign, liver.) We were in our 20s then so it can happen to young, healthy people. It is indeed a rough recovery for a major organ with lots of scarring. I too wish Kathy the best even if she's bit snarky.

Her parents lived to a very old age. Maybe wine is the answer.

She is cancer free after her 6 month scan. Bitch, is also debt-free with that view from her house.

This isn't really a fair take. Her humour was always about making fun of celebrity behaviour, not calling people "old and ugly". As she said on her Ellen interview years back, her jokes aren't: "Uh, Star Jones is fat! Good night everybody!" they were "I worked with Star Jones, she was a monster, and here is a funny story about what an asshole she was." Many of these celebrities seem to think they can behave however they want and no one gets to call them on it.

Plus Kathy made fun of herself first and foremost and often spoke with reverence for some of these people, even though as she says, she knows they don't like her. Celebrities seem to want to live in this made-up world of their own creating, and clearly some of them don't like it if someone shows them for who they truly are.

If people don't like her comedy that's one thing, but she gets mischaracterised a lot as being "mean and nasty" when really her thing is that she is the uber celebrity fan.

Personally, I wish more people would be actually mean and nasty to celebrities.

R32 Piers Morgan and Sharon Osbourne are both horrible people in my opinion. People like them probably deserve to be mistreated.

Plus Sharon has a new show coming out on some network. Probably a right wing fringe network is what some people are saying. And she's coming out with a new trashy book too. She made the announcement on her Instagram page.

I guess she wants revenge. I don't know why she won't just back home to the UK. She's going to be 70 later thus year. She should just retire. It's time, she has enough money to live on.

R34 Well she told the dailymail last year, she and ozzy plan on moving back to the UK one day. She said ozzy really wants to move back home to England. But they both also want to be close to their grandkids here in America.

I follow her on Facebook. She's made a remarkable recovery, but her voice is high and raspy now.

So Kathy's idea of getting better is everybody else's medical problems taking a back seat to her queefing her misery all over social media from her Hollywood mansion. It's not working, honey.

I can never rewatch Mad Men knowing what an asshole Jon Hamm is. Luckily the role wasn’t a stretch for him.
