Does the term 'Vexatious litigants' exist in US law?

[QUOTE] Vexatious litigants are individuals who persistently take legal action against others in cases without any merit, who are forbidden from starting civil cases in courts without permission.

They are coming fucking close to it

R1, yes, it’s a thing, here, too. Along with our “bonkers” First Amendment.

by Anonymousreply 2September 3, 2021 2:17 PM

Is there a corresponding law to temper yellow journalism?

by Anonymousreply 3September 3, 2021 5:03 PM

Sadly no R3. Like in the US, it’s legal in the UK for “journalists” to smear celebrities as long as it’s couched as “opinion.” They do it to sell ads or increase viewers/readers, as no one ever went poor pandering to the small-minded xenophobia and racism of the British public.

by Anonymousreply 4September 3, 2021 5:08 PM

They should be happy to have enemies like Piers Morgan.

by Anonymousreply 5September 3, 2021 5:10 PM

This pleases me.

by Anonymousreply 6September 3, 2021 5:14 PM

Throughout my nightmare ordeal with that beast, has anyone asked if I'm okay?

by Anonymousreply 7September 3, 2021 6:16 PM

They savor all attention. The negative stuff allows them to play the victim.

Everyone should simply ignore them. That would kill them.

by Anonymousreply 8September 3, 2021 8:36 PM

They are yesterday’s news.

by Anonymousreply 9September 3, 2021 8:38 PM

We HAVE to have a viewing party. The level of cringe is going to be wold-shatteringly hilarious.

by Anonymousreply 15September 4, 2021 3:39 AM

Was Markle ever chased by the paps like Diana was?

by Anonymousreply 16September 4, 2021 3:52 AM

Never, r16. Not even once.

by Anonymousreply 17September 4, 2021 3:57 AM

If anything, the paparazzi would be in the crashed car with Meghan and Harry chasing them down.

by Anonymousreply 18September 4, 2021 4:21 AM

It's probably a dream that Harry is having.

Blind Gossip, a rabid right-wing and Trump-loving website (let it be known), claims that Megs and Harry are desperate to get their hands on a copy of this movie before it airs. They have asked around and cannot get one.

by Anonymousreply 19September 4, 2021 5:25 AM

R21 omg I can't wait! This kind of Lifetime cheese is irresistible to me.

by Anonymousreply 23September 4, 2021 7:16 AM

R23, me too. I’ll watch it with the same zeal I have for the Sharknado franchise.

by Anonymousreply 24September 4, 2021 7:20 AM

Meghan called the paps every time (5 times in total, I believe) they photogaphed her "off duty", but told Harry that she felt hounded by them in order to trigger his Diana paranoia and begin to work that lever of control on him.

UK paps will NEVER pap Harry or William or their significant others off-duty without an ok or an invitation. The couples have to be at an event or an engagement in order to be considered fair game. What they initially did to Kate was considered a breach of the agreement they made after Diana's death, and the papping of her basically died out after a few years of Kate getting horrifically hounded and after the Levison Report rewriting the rules of media intrusion.

By the time Meghan came on the scene there was zero papping, and the 2 times she was papped in the UK, she was either standing outside an esthetitician she was promoting, or there was one time when she called them to photograph her with an Eco logo on her bag, to burnish her activist credentials.

The time she called them in Canada, Harry was in London. She was wearing false eyelashes while merely "walking the dog". The other time she was papped in California, she was with Harry, being picked up on the street from a famous dentist. That building has an underground parking, so it was clear they were doing publicity for the doctor. The last time she was papped, Harry was also in England, and the clothes she was wearing were being merched on Meghan's Mirror within the hour. All planned.

None of this is a surprise as she has a long history of calling in the Paps:

^^^^ Look at the comments below that article at r25, over a year old now. People already had her number as far as it being obvious that she both calls the paps and is also obviously the main source for her own PR articles.

by Anonymousreply 26September 4, 2021 9:37 AM

^There were other times though. I recall them getting "papped" while delivering meals in LA during lock down.

by Anonymousreply 27September 4, 2021 9:40 AM

Do you honestly think she did not call the paps on that day, r27?

It's obvious that she did.

by Anonymousreply 28September 4, 2021 9:50 AM

^Yes, no kidding. That was my point. R25 did not mention it in the supposed "5 times" she called them.

by Anonymousreply 29September 4, 2021 9:53 AM

She has never in her life been papped without calling them herself. People just aren't attracted to her for any reason.

by Anonymousreply 30September 4, 2021 9:57 AM

So? Lots of celebs call the paps.

by Anonymousreply 31September 4, 2021 11:16 AM

That Lifetime trailer is a campfest and also the verbatim narrative they've been selling since leaving.

by Anonymousreply 32September 4, 2021 11:49 AM

Harry's hair was never so thick in his life. This is the ultimate vanity project.

by Anonymousreply 33September 4, 2021 12:30 PM

by Anonymousreply 34September 4, 2021 12:33 PM

[QUOTE] R31 So? Lots of celebs call the paps.

Senior full time working Royals are not 'Celebs', It's why they don't get 'Papped' on the whole.

by Anonymousreply 35September 4, 2021 12:40 PM

Do the celebs who call papa also simultaneously claim they are being hounded by the press?

by Anonymousreply 36September 4, 2021 12:53 PM

er, paps...

by Anonymousreply 37September 4, 2021 1:19 PM

R14, the guy who plays Harry, Jordan Dean, is far hotter than Harry ever was, is, or will be. The article even has a bulge shot with him sitting down.

by Anonymousreply 38September 4, 2021 2:02 PM

R14 who plays Oprah?

by Anonymousreply 39September 4, 2021 2:03 PM

Does Jordan Dean do other types of movies?

by Anonymousreply 40September 4, 2021 2:20 PM

These two are the saddest pair. The have annoyed more people than they have engaged by far, both in the UK and the US. I think they will be moving into the desperation stage soon, realizing that they've lost their connection to the royal family, which is the source of people's interest in them, as well as the source of nearly limitless cash and influence. Unless they can make a killing through their endorsements, I think they'll be flailing about soon, desperately trying to be relevant.

by Anonymousreply 41September 4, 2021 2:22 PM

R15 I’m all in for a DO viewing party!!!

by Anonymousreply 42September 4, 2021 2:24 PM

by Anonymousreply 43September 4, 2021 3:04 PM

New residents at the Montecito Council Estate, [R43].

by Anonymousreply 44September 4, 2021 3:27 PM

Harry and Meghan remind me of Schitt's Creek, and that makes them just a little more likeable.

R39 Leon from Curb Your Enthusiasm co-stars as Oprah. He's gunning for an Emmy!

by Anonymousreply 49September 4, 2021 7:36 PM

Harry has a new idea for Netflix...

To stay relevant and be part of the queen's 70th anniversary on the throne in 2022, Harry is planning a documentary that will involve notables and the average person who have met, come in contact and/or interacted in some manner with the queen throughout her reign.

It could have a commercial appeal and be popular with the public. It's strange that the institution the Markles want to destroy is the subject matter they want to celebrate...to make money of course. The queen could put a kibosh on the documentary by telling world leaders not to speak with Harry and his team.

by Anonymousreply 50September 4, 2021 7:47 PM

World leaders won't speak with Harry. They aren't crazy. He'll get the brush-off like he did from Obama.

by Anonymousreply 51September 4, 2021 7:49 PM

R50. It could work. However, if Harry's memoir scheduled for release next year is a bombshell damaging the monarchy or the royal family, notable world figures will be reluctant to speak with Harry. He would get plenty of common people to speak with him, but the public aren't interested in the opinions of the average person for a documentary.

by Anonymousreply 52September 4, 2021 8:04 PM

R50 The Queen stopped Prince Edward making exactly that kind of documentary, a lesson that has already been well learned by The Royals.

Other TV shows have already been made to commemorate the 70th Jubilee by the main UK broadcasters.

by Anonymousreply 53September 4, 2021 8:09 PM

There's a soldier who served in Afghanistan who has a YouTube channel and posted about Harry's non-existent military service. He had to be accompanied everywhere by bodyguards and spent all his time playing computer games. A bunch of other soldiers have chimed in about how useless Harry was. His plan to make a documentary about Invictus - which Harry (as figurehead) created by copying games done by the US military - is pissing them off: Harry has no plans to pay anybody for their participation. He just wants to make money off other people's suffering.

The palace must be aware that any meeting is likely to be surreptitiously recorded to be used at a later, opportune moment…

by Anonymousreply 56September 5, 2021 12:54 PM

How did they manage to find someone uglier than Harry to play him?

by Anonymousreply 57September 5, 2021 1:05 PM

The Palace is really in a no-win situation with that one. If they refuse, it is evidence that they are racist and Harry and Meghan are not in fact 'much loved members of the family'. If they agree to a meeting...who knows hw that will end?

by Anonymousreply 58September 5, 2021 1:13 PM

This is pure manipulation on their part. The only genuine interest they have in seeing HM is to get photos of her with Merchibet, and to squeeze out some guarantee of titles for the kids. They are shameless. Besides, didn't MeGAIN claim that she zooms all the time with HM? That couldn't be a lie could it?

by Anonymousreply 59September 5, 2021 1:21 PM

Who made the request public, the palace or the publicists?…

by Anonymousreply 60September 5, 2021 1:33 PM

Good question, r60.

I think the Queen should be unavailable, but offer Princess Anne as her proxy.

Or if meeting with them, insist upon a camera crew and a team of lawyers in the room. So there can be no *misunderstanding*.

by Anonymousreply 61September 5, 2021 3:20 PM

No private meeting. No cameras.

by Anonymousreply 62September 5, 2021 3:22 PM

The Queen will meet them chat about nothing, twiddle her wedding, ring press a bell and leave the room, they'll then be escorted out of the building.

It'll be over in 15 minutes and will be another humiliation for them.

by Anonymousreply 63September 5, 2021 3:28 PM

You have to laugh and commend their efforts. Relentless.

by Anonymousreply 64September 5, 2021 3:30 PM

I have insomnia and reading about the Sussex antics lulls me back to sleep again. However, they cannot keep issuing startling press releases to get attention, at some point, they become boring. It's only a matter of time before that happens.

by Anonymousreply 65September 5, 2021 3:35 PM

Well, they are laughably obvious, that's for sure.

by Anonymousreply 66September 5, 2021 3:35 PM

Don’t do it, Liz!

by Anonymousreply 67September 5, 2021 3:38 PM

“Oh, your most exalted and honorable Majesty, we didn’t mean it! We are so very sorry and most humbly grovel for your grace and forgiveness! The uppity and evil Oprah tricked us! TRICKED us into saying those things! Here, hold the baby and just look over here, that’s it. Now, we’ve got this paper for you to sign, gran. It just means that you acknowledge our humble apology; you don’t have to actually read it. Later, bitch!”

by Anonymousreply 68September 5, 2021 3:41 PM

R65 I mean, this is the couple who issued a press release that they were left speechless by the situation in Afghanistan. Speechless has a definition, Harkles. That ain't it.

by Anonymousreply 69September 5, 2021 4:08 PM

I thought they couldn't move forward until TQ took full accountability for...whatever slights they imagined happened.

by Anonymousreply 70September 5, 2021 4:11 PM

They both seem to suffer from Adolescent Defiant Disorder, throwing temper tantrums when they don't get their way. They're just basically your run-of-the-mill spoiled brats whose parents indulged them and who can't understand why they aren't getting all the toys they got when they were widdle kiddies.

by Anonymousreply 71September 5, 2021 4:39 PM

So, as I understand it, they are going to confront Her Maj with a list of their grievances and demands....what could possibly go wrong?

by Anonymousreply 72September 5, 2021 5:08 PM

R72, probably. What else could it be? Aside from wanting a “Lilibet Meets Lilibet” photo op.

People like Meghan do NOT apologize or grovel, so it can’t be that.

People like Meghan will stab you in the gut and expect you to apologize because your blood spattered their shoes.

by Anonymousreply 73September 5, 2021 5:28 PM

If I were the Queen, I would make sure I were never again for the rest of my life alone in a room with Meghan and Harry, so they don;t go around reporting things she never said. They're just not honest.

by Anonymousreply 74September 5, 2021 6:24 PM

Why are they always prompting these showdowns that disadvantage the Queen?

I bet she's sick to death of them, and that she has come to hate Meghan.

by Anonymousreply 75September 5, 2021 7:15 PM

R75, Meghan thinks she’s:

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 76September 5, 2021 7:32 PM

There was a video clip somewhere of Meghan being interviewed by some guy who works for a Canadian entertainment show. He was interviewing her at some do and after a minute or so of boring Meghan, started looking over her head to see if there was somebody bigger he could interview. She immediately started attacking him for ignoring her to try to find some C lister instead. She had the same problem with the royals: there was always somebody bigger than her depriving her of the attention she thought should be hers.

by Anonymousreply 77September 5, 2021 8:05 PM

Meghan is clever, and seems like the type who has always thought of herself as cleverer than everyone else. Maybe it was that dish soap attention she got as a kid, or just the showbiz and private school competitive milieus she grew up in. Most people undermine themselves with that thinking. She would do well to let go of it, but she probably can’t.

by Anonymousreply 78September 5, 2021 8:13 PM

Meghan is clever, but not as clever as she thinks. She orchestrated their break from the RF too soon and has mismanaged everything since then. She also doesn't seem to recognize that she's totally outgunned in whatever war she thinks she's waging against the RF.

by Anonymousreply 79September 5, 2021 8:16 PM

R79 god there could be a whole thread on Meghan's missteps. Honestly that's what makes the story so enduringly entertaining. If they had any thought of longterm strategy, they'd be much better off.

Charles clearly LOVES being a grandpa, and has a bond with Camilla's grandchildren as well. How did keeping Archie (I'll always hate that dumb name) away help them? By most reports, he saw the baby twice. I'm sure he's sad about it, but between William and his stepchildren, he has 8 grandkids.

by Anonymousreply 80September 5, 2021 8:20 PM

The Sussex's needed to hang around for at least 10 years to have made their current game plan work. Glad they didn't.

by Anonymousreply 81September 5, 2021 8:52 PM

The Harkles: We need a meeting!

Her Maj: I'm afraid I have a terrible cold that week.

The Harkles: But we insist!

Her Maj: I'm the Queen, fuck off.

by Anonymousreply 82September 5, 2021 9:16 PM

Meghan thought Harry’s royalness was something separate that could be sold: he’s royal so he can use, for example, the Sussex Royal tag. How furious she must have been to realize only the crown is truly royal. Everyone else is just really royalty-adjacent.

by Anonymousreply 83September 5, 2021 9:42 PM

Her Maj is taking several risks if she agrees to see them: First, they're likely to pull some bullshit, either recording it or lying about what was said in the meeting to drive forward their BRF extortion plan, and second, public feeling is SO strong against them in Britain that the Queen could lose significant amount of public support for being seen to indulge them.

Many Britons are so disgusted with the Harkles that even formerly ardent Royalists now take the attitude of "Either they're cut out of the BRF completely, or they're tacitly accepted by the BRF, and if it's the latter, then the BRF aren't what I thought they were and therefore, fuck the BRF."

Read the top comment below the article, which has 14,845 likes - that's basically what it says.

If I were the Queen, I would not only not see them, but make it quietly known that I won't see them, so that the public are left in no doubt that the Harkles behaviour is in no way sanctioned by her.

by Anonymousreply 84September 5, 2021 10:05 PM

My favorite of their fumbles (at the moment): they avoid criticizing The Queen, but they have no problem attacking her direct heirs. Liz has 5-7 years left max, and Charles and especially William have long memories.

by Anonymousreply 85September 6, 2021 12:23 AM

They’re worried for Harry and the children. It’s a tough situation.

by Anonymousreply 86September 6, 2021 12:25 AM

Honestly how much can they really care about the children? They met Merchie twice and never laid eyes on Little Diana

by Anonymousreply 87September 6, 2021 12:31 AM

I agree r87. All this maudlin talk Charles and TQ not seeing the grandkids; I mean really? If the Harkles have not made the effort to establish a bond between their offspring and the grandparents and great-grandparents, well they'll hardly be missed ... and actually who wants to have to tolerate phoney-ass Meghan for even 5 minutes in order to see the children .... probably not TQ nor Charles.

by Anonymousreply 88September 6, 2021 12:38 AM

This request for a visit is straight-up pandering to be rejected to replenish the victim-bank. And if the visit is granted it will be straight up exploitation of the TQ's sentimentality. I hope to gawd TQ simply does not respond to their request; they certainly have not earned a response. Charles and Camilla should be the responsible party to agree to a meeting if requested, and that meeting should be done at some public royal occasion with the media's eyes on them.

by Anonymousreply 89September 6, 2021 12:44 AM

I liked another poster's idea of having Princess Anne meet with them instead of the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 90September 6, 2021 1:27 AM

It’s not “maudlin talk” to be concerned for the welfare of those children. I don’t mean taking custody of them or whatever. I agree Charles and the queen are not remotely interested in that. But surely they worry about them growing up so far away, in who knows what kind of environment.

by Anonymousreply 91September 6, 2021 1:43 AM

I'd be more interested in knowing what's been discussed on how to ensure Charlotte and Louis don't end up like Harry and Andy

by Anonymousreply 92September 6, 2021 1:46 AM

Meant to clarify, an environment utterly foreign to themselves (Charles and the Queen). They may not need to dandle the tots on their knees but once a month, but surely they would prefer to have everyone in England, in the general bosom of family.

by Anonymousreply 93September 6, 2021 1:48 AM

R92 I think the answer is the guidance of a very attentive mother, from a close extended family.

by Anonymousreply 94September 6, 2021 1:49 AM

Meghan's points of reference are not the royal family - who are supposed to remain in the public eye for life without wearing out their welcome. She's a Hollywood nonentity who had to score maximum publicity as quick as possible. As she was always obscure before marrying Harry, with nobody knowing who the fuck she was, she isn't some A lister who is familiar with the concept of over-exposure.

by Anonymousreply 95September 6, 2021 1:51 AM

It’s a bit odd that the press keeps reporting that the Queen is/was so keen to see Archie, although this has died down with Lilibet. She has never been sentimental about babies. She strikes me as the kind of grandmother who enjoys the grandkids more as they become older and have things to say and are easier to engage with. I think she has accepted that she will never really know her American grandchildren, due to her advanced age, the distance and oh yes, their parents.

by Anonymousreply 96September 6, 2021 2:35 AM

The Queen has always been terrific with her grandchildren. Every Summer at Balmoral she would run around with them, there are videos online and she's great. They say Balmoral used to turn into a big grandkids' slumber party with the Queen (although I 'm sure she didn't sleep with them). She's not one of those "always there" grandmothers for obvious reasons but she seems to be into it, with her great-grandchildren now too.

by Anonymousreply 97September 6, 2021 2:42 AM

I think it's a hoot that they didn't get invited to Obama's pool party. That had to trigger Megan, "But we're royalty".

by Anonymousreply 98September 6, 2021 6:46 AM

Just for a bit of perspective, George Lascelles, 7th Earl of Harewood was also a Grandchild of King George V (same as The Queen).

The people on the lower rungs of the ladder are expected to make their own life, this is how relevant the Harkles will become. Take a look at what his younger children do, nothing Royal by any measure.

by Anonymousreply 108September 7, 2021 4:29 PM

Their "request" for a meeting with the Queen is clearly a demand. They've been floating reminders in the press about the alleged racist Royal Family member who commented about Archie and how they decided not to name the person. Unless their demands aren't met, of course.

by Anonymousreply 109September 7, 2021 4:38 PM

Let them name the name and be done with it. And while they’re at it, they need to relay how the comment was given.

by Anonymousreply 110September 7, 2021 4:40 PM

R109 They've told so many lies, the only people who would believe them now would be the demented MegStans.

I think they're up shit creek: given their constant 'leaks' about how they're still so close to the royals, their Netflix and Spotify contracts obviously stipulate they would be getting the royals involved in their "content". But the whiny brats couldn't keep their traps shut with Oprah. Byebye millions.

by Anonymousreply 111September 7, 2021 4:44 PM

I still think that the Racist Family Member card is still very much in play. We see how social media operates. Twitter radicals won't wait for an explanation, or to hear the other person's side before grabbing their torches and pitchforks and heading for Buckingham Palace. Imagine if M&H lied and said that it was Charles who said it. Would he even be allowed to take the thrown? The media would be in hysterics, not because it's a situation that even warrants hysteria, but because that's what the media does.

by Anonymousreply 112September 7, 2021 4:50 PM

The “Racist Comment about Archie” card is starting to seem apocryphal. If it’s egregious enough, it should have been revealed a lot sooner. If it’s not, why keep bringing it up?

By the time they finally lob the grenade, it won’t have much impact.

by Anonymousreply 113September 7, 2021 4:58 PM

Plus the two ding dongs couldn’t even keep their stories straight about the alleged comment.

by Anonymousreply 114September 7, 2021 4:59 PM

The racist family member was obviously Phil the Greek but they had to deny it because everybody knows it was Phil the Greek or risk the Queen refusing to ever speak to them again or - more importantly - ever give them any money.

Unlike Meg's demented fanbase, I have followed the royal family's doings since Diana married Charles. Charles was in fact much closer to Harry than to William. Charles overindulged Harry partly because William rebelled against him. Diana used Will as her confidant which wasn't fair to a teenage boy. She pretty much ignored Harry. So Charles tried to make up for her neglect.

People forget Diana rarely saw those boys after they started school. She only had 50% custody of them during school vacations. And when she did, she would drag them off for photo ops - McDonalds, theme parks, charity visits. Diana's problems with the paparazzi were of her own creation. Like leaking constantly to the Daily Mail to try to control the narrative.

by Anonymousreply 115September 7, 2021 5:01 PM

Like I said, they could just lie and claim that it was someone else who said it. If the three of them were the only ones in the room, it's their word against that other person's. Meghan Markle doesn't have a moral compass. She desires fame, fortune and royal titles.

by Anonymousreply 116September 7, 2021 5:09 PM

[quote] It’s not “maudlin talk” to be concerned for the welfare of those children.

Those poor cast-off waifs!

I am sure it is urgent Harry and Meghan meet with the Queen to make sure those children do not have to live some day on the mean streets of Montecito.

by Anonymousreply 117September 7, 2021 5:10 PM

The royals probably wouldn't get involved in the Netflix content even if they hadn't done Oprah, as there would be all sorts of accusations of cash for access and making money off their titles, which as you can see from the current scandal is a big no no. But who knows with these ding dongs, they probably thought they could talk the queen in to her first on camera actual interview.

With the "royal racist" they couldn't even keep their stories straight in the actual interview and Meghan admitted she hadn't even heard the comment. There's also a rumor going around that it wasn't actually a member of the BRF but maybe one of Harry's maternal relatives or close friends.

They probably will name someone at some point but considering their lies I'd need to see a signed witness statement from god before I believed it.

by Anonymousreply 118September 7, 2021 5:14 PM

It's like a game of Clue. I think either Andrew or Camilla made the damning remarks.

Here's a thought - what if they name and shame the culprit and he or she just flat out denies it?

by Anonymousreply 119September 7, 2021 5:36 PM

[quote]Here's a thought - what if they name and shame the culprit and he or she just flat out denies it?

I guess it would depend on whether or not there were witnesses and in the absence of that, who has more credibility, Harry or the alleged racist.

by Anonymousreply 120September 7, 2021 6:03 PM

R119, even if they did name names, their credibility is shot, so the accused could say whatever they like if they choose to deny or downplay it. Not that many people care at this point anyway.

by Anonymousreply 121September 7, 2021 6:32 PM

True outrage demands immediate accountability. To tease and withhold amounts to faux outrage and calculation. The public can see these things even if subliminally…

by Anonymousreply 122September 7, 2021 6:40 PM

If the "Archie skin" remarks are as horrible as the Harkles have let on, they would have already divulged the royal who said it. The couple really are incredibly "oversensitive" about supposed slights and are quite paranoid. They are also liars who can't seem to get their stories right.

by Anonymousreply 123September 7, 2021 6:44 PM

What's interesting is that the TV-movie last night--which was of course incredibly sympathetic to them (it looked like either it was made with their collaboration, or made to flatter them since Lifetime thinks that's what its audience wants)--did make them seem incredibly oversensitive to minor slights.

If they were left off the program of Commonwealth Day (since it was their last event as royals), or if the Palace remained quiet if anyone said anything offensive about them online, they reacted like someone had thrown acid in their faces.

by Anonymousreply 124September 7, 2021 7:10 PM

They are using it to hold the BRF hostage.

by Anonymousreply 125September 7, 2021 7:10 PM

"If you take our royal titles away, we'll say who it was."

"If you don't start funding our lifestyle, in particular our security detail, we'll say who it was."

"If the Queen doesn't baptize Lillibet, or this, that or the other thing, we'll say who it was."

by Anonymousreply 126September 7, 2021 7:12 PM

Okay....XYZ said s/she wondered what colour our kids would be.

Big deal.

by Anonymousreply 127September 7, 2021 7:26 PM

Wouldn’t it be fun if the one who made the remark up and claimed responsibility with a heartfelt apology and explanation, thereby stealing their thunder…

by Anonymousreply 128September 7, 2021 7:31 PM

Bitch made herself look like Snow White or Cinderella. Her evil in-laws out to destroy her happiness out of jealousy. That bit about William telling Kate to touch his back in public like Meghan does for popularity points made me laugh. That cunt is delusional.

by Anonymousreply 129September 7, 2021 7:31 PM

Meghan claimed the royal family made racist remarks about Archie.... to Harry. Then when Harry was allowed into the interview he said it was one person who wondered what their future kids would like... before they married.

The person was probably wondering if Meghan could breed out the ginger gene. Meghan who passed for white her whole life (only white friends, boyfriends, joined a white sorority at college) decided to play the racist card to suck up to Oprah.

by Anonymousreply 130September 7, 2021 7:33 PM

No way that movie was made without input from the Harkles

by Anonymousreply 131September 7, 2021 7:36 PM

[quote]No way that movie was made without input from the Harkles.

Definitely. They had to be silent producers or somehow involved in this shit show. They came off as a one dimensional Disney couple, and “The Firm” is a villain out to get them.

by Anonymousreply 132September 7, 2021 7:41 PM

[quote]Wouldn’t it be fun if the one who made the remark up and claimed responsibility with a heartfelt apology and explanation, thereby stealing their thunder…

No one accepts apologies anymore. The person would be branded a racist forever and the BRF would be accused of protecting said person.

by Anonymousreply 133September 7, 2021 7:57 PM

Which technically is what Harry and Meghan are doing--protecting the racist and the BRF. But of course no one calls them on that.

by Anonymousreply 134September 7, 2021 8:03 PM

Poor Archie, one day he’ll have to read all this crap about himself that his parents put out there, poisoning the well with his own extended family. I hope in the future he becomes close with them, enraging his parents.

by Anonymousreply 135September 7, 2021 8:12 PM

R135 Meghan and Harry will likely be divorced in the next five years. Honestly, I don’t even give this marriage 10 years. Harry will have so many bridges to rebuild. The divorce custody battle will make Brad and Angie look amicable.

by Anonymousreply 136September 7, 2021 8:15 PM

I don't see a divorce. I do see Meghan wanting to be a widow, though. She's already distanced him from his family and friends. If he ever kills himself, she'll blame the press or the BRF.

I honestly think she's pathological.

by Anonymousreply 137September 7, 2021 8:18 PM

I figure they will divorce and it will go the way of Brad and Angie, or Johnny and Amber. Meghan will probably make fantastical accusations about Harry being abusive and cruel to her and the children. She will make him sound as terrible as she has made the rest of his family sound. Maybe make substance abuse claims and definitely make accusations of psychological torment. Wait for it. She will try to assassinate his character just like she has with his family.

by Anonymousreply 138September 7, 2021 8:37 PM

R137, that sounds horrible!

by Anonymousreply 139September 7, 2021 8:40 PM

I disagree, R138. She presumably knows way too much about the BRF, things that Harry has told her and things that she'll simply invent if she needs to. She'll demand a huge payoff or she'll spill everything. The only way they get rid of her is her death.

by Anonymousreply 140September 7, 2021 8:45 PM

R138 Well Harry as already helped her in that regard. He's been only too eager to tell the everyone who listened about how out of control his drinking and drug use was and how insanely angry he was and how William (reinvented in the last version as Meghan) told him it wasn't normal to be this angry and he needed therapy.

He's admitted to paranoia and other things. Not to mention the books, docs and movies all portray him at best as an idiot whilst she's a saint. It wouldn't be too hard for her to paint a picture if a divorce actually happens.

by Anonymousreply 141September 7, 2021 8:54 PM

Given MM's proclivity for recreational drugs, it wouldn't be too hard to kill her. Sadly missed, and all that....

by Anonymousreply 142September 7, 2021 8:56 PM

R140 nah. That is over the top. Hahaha! She is going to dump him and use the kids as leverage. Narcs can’t stay in relationships for too long. She will cheat or get bored with this game and move on to the next. She will have to make herself look like a victim first, though. That is when she will start the manipulation of the public. Dropping hints that she and Harry are having problems via social media, or through her lemmings “leaking” negative stories about Harry. Then she will set up the whole abused wife scenario.

by Anonymousreply 143September 7, 2021 9:13 PM

Megsy has thrown her family and friends under the (public) bus. She'll honestly stop at nothing to make sure that she gets whatever she wants, whenever she wants it. The BRF will never be rid of her, even post-Harry/marriage.

by Anonymousreply 144September 7, 2021 9:17 PM

It’s all kind of a bummer. I really liked Meghan and thought she was an awesome addition to the BRF. She had so much goodwill but she threw it all away.

by Anonymousreply 145September 7, 2021 10:24 PM

When she starts laying out the foundations for their divorce, she will inevitably blame (a) the royal family, but not of course Her Majesty the Queen, and (b) the media. She will only blame Harry indirectly. And she, of course, will be blameless.

by Anonymousreply 146September 7, 2021 10:31 PM

Meghan, swinging through the trees, will not let go of one branch until she has a firm grip on the next. Who/what is her next branch? Hollywood doesn't care about her.

by Anonymousreply 147September 7, 2021 11:54 PM

R147 - are you saying Meghan is a monkey?

by Anonymousreply 148September 8, 2021 12:09 AM

Someone with enough $$$ to give her the power she hasn't gotten from being a duchess in exile.

by Anonymousreply 149September 8, 2021 1:00 AM

Who played the rescue chickens in the movie? And did Archie ever put one in his waffle iron?

by Anonymousreply 150September 8, 2021 1:32 AM

[quote]Someone with enough $$$ to give her the power she hasn't gotten from being a duchess in exile.

Scott Disick is freshly single!

by Anonymousreply 151September 8, 2021 3:49 AM

Like Disick would ever look at MM's 40 year old ass.

by Anonymousreply 152September 8, 2021 4:03 AM

Who is going to want her though? She's old, unpopular and obviously a sociopath. I get the feeling they're stuck with each other now.

by Anonymousreply 153September 8, 2021 4:11 AM

R153 I thought so too, but Tiffany Trump and Lindsay Lohan landed the sons of billionaires.

by Anonymousreply 154September 8, 2021 4:31 AM

Who did Lindsay Lohan “land”? That Egor kid? That was eons ago, and he dumped her.

by Anonymousreply 155September 8, 2021 5:07 AM

R155 true, but she did get his attention in the first place. I that washed up drunk carcass could get rich dick (even temporarily)...

And I'm sure Ivanka has spent many hours wondering how her fat little sister did so well...

by Anonymousreply 157September 8, 2021 5:17 AM

(R140) Hmmm, that has happened before.

by Anonymousreply 158September 8, 2021 7:27 AM

H & M are so concerned about how they are perceived and want to control the narrative, this would be them if they were on social media.

by Anonymousreply 159September 8, 2021 6:13 PM

Chicken and waffles yum!!!

by Anonymousreply 160September 8, 2021 8:56 PM

Rescue chickens, what a hypocrite! Are they going to roast one as they claimed they were doing in their stupid engagement interview? They were so insufferable in that.

by Anonymousreply 161September 8, 2021 9:03 PM

They are insufferable in all of the appearances in which I have seen them.

by Anonymousreply 162September 8, 2021 9:08 PM

Meghan needs those chickens for her voodoo rituals.

by Anonymousreply 163September 8, 2021 9:10 PM

I don't get why they're not on social media in some form.

by Anonymousreply 164September 8, 2021 10:00 PM

Officially R164 because social media (well all media according to Harry) is the root of all evil and people are mean to them on the internet. They must issue "global press releases" on their website every time they have an announcement. And yet they personally phone to coordinate with some of the nastiest Sussex Squad trolls who bragged about doxxing people and a 2 minute look at their timelines would have shown this.

Unofficially it's possibly because Instagram won't let them transfer their 10 million followers on the still there Sussex Royal account to an Archewell account and they'd never get that number back again manually and that would be humiliating.

If it was because SM was evil they'd have deleted the Sussex Royal account 18 months ago.

by Anonymousreply 165September 8, 2021 10:34 PM

R165, just because they don’t have a social media presence doesn’t mean the Harkles aren’t acutely aware of what is being said about them online. I’m sure Meghan is reading online for hours every day… and most likely monitoring DataLounge too.

by Anonymousreply 166September 8, 2021 10:45 PM

No doubt R166. Harry admitted that he reads the comment sections of the DM. A glance at any of the press releases, Scobie, manifesting rumour or anything else attributed to them and it becomes clear they're excruciatingly aware of what's said about them. Hence the clap back at every petty story about them in Finding Freedumb.

by Anonymousreply 167September 8, 2021 10:59 PM

I doubt Meghan reads DL. If she had, she probably would have sued to have it shut down by now.

by Anonymousreply 168September 8, 2021 11:50 PM

Scobie no doubt hangs around on here. So keep insulting his cheap plastic surgery.

by Anonymousreply 169September 9, 2021 2:51 AM

She had the Dangling Tendrils threads shut down.

She still wears that hoodrat dangling tendrils look and it still looks like shit. Doesn't make her look younger or slim her face. It just looks a mess.

by Anonymousreply 170September 9, 2021 4:34 PM

R170, it reminds me of the 2000s, like something a girl would wear with her chunky heels and low-rise jeans.

by Anonymousreply 171September 9, 2021 8:14 PM

She's forty trying to play like she's still in her late teens/twenties so 2000s makes perfect sense.

by Anonymousreply 172September 9, 2021 8:19 PM

If she is so proud of being half-black, why does she straighten her hair? Let her freak flag fly.

by Anonymousreply 173September 9, 2021 8:26 PM

She's actually about 20-25% Black.

by Anonymousreply 174September 9, 2021 8:52 PM

Her hair is naturally kinky though judging from pics of her when she was a kid.

by Anonymousreply 175September 9, 2021 8:58 PM

Tina! Bring me the iron!

by Anonymousreply 176September 9, 2021 9:11 PM

Be fair. Being a woman of color is new to Meghan

by Anonymousreply 177September 9, 2021 9:19 PM

She has the worst profile I've ever seen. Truly breathtaking how ugly she is.

by Anonymousreply 178September 10, 2021 3:46 AM

Just a reminder, Escaping the Palace: Enhanced is on Lifetime tonight.

by Anonymousreply 179September 11, 2021 11:01 AM

Be sure to miss it…

by Anonymousreply 180September 11, 2021 1:59 PM

I'll watch just for the scene where the Queen, dressed like Ilsa, she-wolf if the SS, releases the corgis to drag the Harkles back to the palace.

by Anonymousreply 181September 11, 2021 2:04 PM

They jumped before they were pushed, their engagements would have been lower profile after the death of Prince Phillip.

The future focus has to be on Charles & Camilla and William & Catherine.

by Anonymousreply 182September 11, 2021 5:52 PM

R182 - I have a different view. H & M wanted a half in/half out deal with the Royal Family so they could make lots of money through their association with the family. The Queen said "no" that's not how it works. It sounds to me that they were pushed before they jumped.

by Anonymousreply 183September 11, 2021 7:41 PM

I think R183 has it mostly right but, when the Queen told them "no" to the half in-half out idea, they had to go to demonstrate that they COULD succeed without the royal family. Of course, that's because emotionally they are children, not adults.

by Anonymousreply 184September 11, 2021 8:01 PM

Succeeding on their own would have meant ditching their titles, but of course they couldn't do that.

by Anonymousreply 185September 11, 2021 8:05 PM

I’ve only popped in to see bits of the Lifetime movie, and it’s unbelievably transparent. Every line is written to glorify the Sussexes and malign their “enemies”. It’s as subtle as a sledgehammer.

by Anonymousreply 186September 12, 2021 4:07 AM

They were the ones who issued an incredibly entitled half in half out plan without having agreed it first. If they hadn't announced it to the media and worked it out in private then they might have got more of what they wanted.

Whilst they were never going to surpass the Cambridges in importance they were still being given important jobs and would do so for the next 20 years at least. They just couldn't make billionaire money whilst doing it which was actually mentioned in their initial statement and couldn't say or do whatever they want. Which is to dip their toes into partisan politics and every bandwagon cause going apparently.

by Anonymousreply 187September 12, 2021 6:38 AM

I have no liking or respect for MM but I see her point of view. She had had a pretty great life in Toronto - a good job, friends, a local celebrity bf. Due to her behaviour, background (NOT race), and personal style, some of the important players in the BRF and the Palace - William, Kate, Camilla, the old courtiers - had her number from the start and had the knives out for her. The rest were just cold; you can see it on everyone's face at the wedding. Working in that family business must have seemed like a lifelong prison sentence to her and she started hatching a Plan B.

Harry was hurt, offended and angry at his family's reception of his chosen bride, plus his lifelong resentment of his lesser position because of his place in the birth order, so it was easy to get him to go along with her plan.

BUT- MM and Harry being who they are, they fucked it up, and it quickly devolved into a failed blackmail and extortion attempt. And here we are....

by Anonymousreply 188September 12, 2021 7:12 AM

M&H were making plans to leave the family even before the marriage.

by Anonymousreply 189September 12, 2021 7:20 AM

She did appear to have a great life in Toronto R188 but it clearly wasn't enough for her. She ditched the celebrity chef who introduced her to all the "Toronto elite" around the time she she her sights on Harry. Also her show was in it's last couple of years and her more important co star wanted to leave with the possibility that would have to mean a Rachel Zane exit at the same time. She was also in her mid/late 30s and would be looking for a new job.

Enter Harry.

I think a lot of his family had her number from the start but there were reports Charles took to her. Certainly whilst he was paying the bills even Finding Freebies referred to him as Meghan's second father. HM also made the effort to give her some patronages related to her interests and look her on a personal engagement early designed to show her public approval. A lot of people don't get on with the in laws but they don't live together and whilst some co-ordination is required it is possible to not have to see or deal with the other members for months at a time. We also know that there was BTS effort to find a solution to their unhappiness that wasn't what happened, like a few years in SA.

The problem is also that they both insisted that Megs wanted to jump in straight away and Harry was offended on Oprah when he relayed the suggestion that they take it easy or Meghan should think about not becoming a working member of the family. A year to get used to the UK followed by deciding it wasn't for her and leaving gracefully would have been better.

Or basically any other way than how they handled it where they want all the goodies and none of the downsides, want taxpayers to fund their security in Montecito and want to both trash the BRF and come back for all the flag waving.

by Anonymousreply 190September 12, 2021 7:48 AM

It was Harry who said she was going to "hit the ground running." (Oh, my sides.)

Remember when they got engaged and her father cautioned Harry to never hit her?

Anyway, did anyone watch last night. I forgot about it.

by Anonymousreply 191September 12, 2021 12:00 PM

Being big in Toronto and being big in London or NYC ain't the same thing. She was D list.

by Anonymousreply 192September 12, 2021 3:46 PM

Why would you want to watch and give them viewing numbers? YOU ALL are the reason they got viewers at all. The only somewhat decent amount of viewers they got were those over 50! Their other numbers were abysmal and they still got beaten by Friends reruns. STOP WATCHING THEIR CRAP.

by Anonymousreply 198September 13, 2021 4:52 PM

They are close achieving something that even The Duke & Duchess of Windsor (Edward and Wallis) couldn't, they are almost universally hated in the UK.

by Anonymousreply 199September 13, 2021 4:59 PM

They're dangerously close to bankruptcy. That's why they publicly set up the Queen demanding a meeting. They need money and they think she's a soft touch.

Just say no, Brenda.

by Anonymousreply 200September 13, 2021 6:19 PM

The Queen won't allow them to go bankrupt, the conditions that will accompany any bailout will be onerous and designed to keep them quiet forever.

by Anonymousreply 201September 13, 2021 6:59 PM

Why would they expect the Queen to bail them out? They wanted “freedom” and have spent the last two years trashing the monarchy.

by Anonymousreply 202September 13, 2021 7:29 PM

If she bails them out she becomes their main creditor, it won't be a gift.

Bankruptcy would be benign compared to the conditions The Royal Family impose, probably for the rest of their lives.

by Anonymousreply 203September 13, 2021 7:38 PM

Seriously, how are they paying for things right now? They haven't produced anything.

by Anonymousreply 204September 13, 2021 8:42 PM

They're circling the drain, haha!

by Anonymousreply 205September 13, 2021 9:24 PM

They've already blown through most of Diana's legacy (managed very well by the Spencer sisters) and he Queen Mother's legacy (managed very well by the Princess Royal) and are getting to the bottom of what they've been advanced/paid by Netflix, Spotify, their publishers, etc. They've got whatever Philip left them coming at some point but not anytime soon.

Nothing more is going to be forthcoming until the Queen dies and that may be delayed like the terms of Philips bequest. They have to actually produce something successful - SUCCESSFUL - for Netflix, Spotify, the publishers etc. before they get any more money of the "$20 million dollar deal!" they signed.

Sunshine Sachs costs a fortune every month, so does their staff - both household and "professional" - and they're carrying a huge mortgage. That monthly nut is breaking them.

by Anonymousreply 206September 13, 2021 9:32 PM

I doubt they would get a payout - they have proven themselves to be untrustworthy so it would be hard to believe they would actually stay quiet as promised by the terms and conditions of such an agreement.

by Anonymousreply 207September 13, 2021 9:39 PM

If Phillip left any money to his Children or Grandchildren it's likely that it happened many years ago and is held in trusts.

The bulk of his remaining Estate will pass to The Queen and then Prince Charles (tax-free).

R207 Any bailout would take the form of an allowance, conditional on better financial management (not theirs) and good behavior.

by Anonymousreply 208September 13, 2021 9:46 PM

I don't see how they can be paid by Netflix or Spotify as they've produced no content and just hired a bunch of costly people to run their supposed company.

by Anonymousreply 209September 13, 2021 10:03 PM

They were paid part of the huge sums they announced for Netflix and Spotify as advances. Same with the books. Harry's wife had a flop with "The Bench" and Harry's forthcoming blackmail works.

They get a signing advance and then more when they actually produce something. Netflix didn't give them $20 million, Spotify didn't give them whatever was announced as their deal. It's all a piece at a time and they have to deliver the goods.

So far they've spent a fucking fortune and they haven't delivered a thing. Lazy sods.

by Anonymousreply 210September 13, 2021 10:09 PM

Haz should look into a Vegas residency for his juggling act.

by Anonymousreply 211September 13, 2021 10:10 PM

Maybe they could get a Deal or No Deal reboot!

by Anonymousreply 212September 13, 2021 10:25 PM

Didn’t he get a large advance for the forthcoming tell-all?

by Anonymousreply 213September 13, 2021 10:31 PM

Having not thought this out and acting on impulse, H&M are going to hit a wall at sometime in the future. When the money runs out, the debts add up, and the offers dry up. Then they will do what others like them have done in the past -- show up anywhere when someone will pay them. You'll see them show up at the most ridiculous places and try to continue to look regal, honorable, and socially committed, when in actuality they will be, simply, the best royals money can buy.

by Anonymousreply 214September 13, 2021 10:33 PM

She’s not getting any gigs, only Harry is.

The “parental leave” is a face-saving ruse. Notice Harry jumped right on the Jill Biden Warrior Games thing. Isn’t he supposed to be spending time with his new baby and toddler son? (Yeah, I know…)

by Anonymousreply 215September 13, 2021 10:54 PM

and getting paid large sums upfront (like they claim) = gigantic tax burden

by Anonymousreply 216September 13, 2021 11:00 PM

Also, there was no inheritance from the Queen mother. Her will was posted publicly. I doubt there's anything coming from Phillip either. Like the QM, his whole estate likely went to the Queen.

by Anonymousreply 217September 14, 2021 12:40 AM

The inheritance from The Queen Mother came in the form of Trust's set up many years before her death. They did not form part of her estate.

That's a bunch of nonsense r218 . It's a well known fact that the Queen Mother was in debt for years prior to her death. There was no inheritance, there were no trusts. If you have proof please share it.

R223 I think you are confusing The Guardian with The Morning Star?

While individual comment articles can be anti-monarchy the overall tone of the paper is very pro the establishment.

Which newspaper would you like an article saying essentially the same thing from?

R224 the Guardian acted as a vanity publisher for every crazy lie Bernie shills Sirota, et al. could come up with in 2019/2020. It's an Old Labour publication and republican.. with a small 'r'.
