Seed money was paid. Now let’s see what she does with it.

Well I want to know why the Mossbachers didn't book a larger suite, with at least 2 bedrooms. It just makes no sense.

Not watching this show, but someone tell me: Did they do any more ass-eating, or was it just the one letdown of a scene?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 27, 2021 9:55 PM |
She didn’t seem happy with the money, so apparently not enough?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 27, 2021 9:55 PM |
She didn’t even count it. That’s gratitude for you. But the Hardy Boys of DL have sussed out that it was a significant amount.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | August 27, 2021 9:58 PM |
R3, the ass eating was a one time thing.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 27, 2021 10:04 PM |
She didn't have to pay taxes on it since it was all in cash so that's good.

Too lazy to see if this has been addressed but the Mossbacher's Suite situation is very clear:
There are some exclusive resorts in Hawaii that charge up to $5500 per night per room. Connie Britton's character isn't Mark Zuckerberg. She is a well paid CEO paying this out of her post tax income which may be as little as $1 mil per year before taxes (all sorts of compensation usually comes later after renegotiation and/or firing).
Assume this lady takes home $500k per year. Forget about her life expense. You don't think she'd consider making her kids share a room instead of paying $35k extra for her son to have his own bed? (Remember, this site features rich people who refuse tip when they pick up food during a pandemic)

What does Lukas Gaga's ass taste like? Does it stinks?

Discussed almost as frequently as people bitching about about how frequently it's been discussed. The post here was probably trolling for additional rants.
But thanks for the earnest response.

Just finished episode 2. Does it get any better? Is it even about anything? I'm used to HBO making decent television shows, so why is this so bad and pointless? Also, is anyone else shocked that such boredom could allow anyone to watch such an awful show?

More importantly, why is the site of Steve Zahn so nauseating? I can't stand watching him.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | August 30, 2021 11:47 PM |
I think Steve Zahn was great on the show. He looks good, too.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 31, 2021 12:14 AM |
I agree!
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 31, 2021 12:45 AM |
Zahn resembles a shrunken clay-mation version of Viggo Mortensen. Good in the role as Quinn's dad, but not the physical type you would expect Nicole to be attracted to.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 31, 2021 8:06 AM |
Sheryl Sandberg seems to be the obvious inspiration for the Nicole character, since she's a top executive at a social media company who is popularly understood to be soulless.
Here she is with her now-dead husband, who died at 47, presumably around the same age as Steve Zahn's character. Maybe Mike White thought he might get into that, and then decided to keep the husband alive and instead explore the power balance in the relationship and the short-term existential crisis of thinking he was dying.

R12 "Sight" not "site"
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 31, 2021 3:47 PM |
Having worked at Google & Facebook Sheryl can easily afford the larger multi-bedroom suite. And going forward, ask that the treadmill be delivered to the room.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 31, 2021 8:27 PM |
The bedroom suite arguments are making me crazy. The writer had to put the entire family (and friend) in the same space for exposition reasons and to keep the story moving. Without that setting, the director / writer would need to create new seasons to develop these characters adding to the length of each episode for no good reason other than to prove the family could afford two suites.

R19 Our DL friends who are on the spectrum just like to keep insisting that the White Lotus suite is the Four Seasons suite that costs $26,000, when the rest of us realize that 1) the White Lotus is a fictional resort and 2) stories are stories, not exhaustive itemized expense catalogues.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 31, 2021 9:33 PM |
^^ R19 "seasons' = scenes

should be obvious by now, that's the objective.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 31, 2021 10:22 PM |
R20 what part of the spectrum exactly?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | September 1, 2021 1:40 AM |
The end of the spectrum where the leprechaun held Belinda’s envelope full of seed money.
