Tasteful Friends: Kate Beckinsale’s “tasteful” Brentwood Home

[post redacted because linking to dailymail.co.uk clearly indicates that the poster is either a troll or an idiot (probably both, honestly.) Our advice is that you just ignore this poster but whatever you do, don't click on any link to this putrid rag.]

It's nice that she was able to spin entire career out of the Underworld movies

Better location for the jacooze. That brownstone owned by Neil Patrick Niles has the hot tub only steps away from the marital bed. God only knows how brightly that thing would shine under a Dateline inspection light.

That ugly little shack is $4 million?! I’ve never understood why Brentwood is so expensive. It’s no Beverly Hills or Bel Air.

by Anonymousreply 3August 26, 2021 2:41 AM

R3 Brentwood is "stealth wealth." The houses aren't as grand, but it's more tasteful than the tourist-targets in the Hills. It's where regular millionaires live, and people you'd actually want as neighbors. Pacific Palisades is another area with pricey yet understated homes, and also popular with people of similar substance.

Leaves me flat.

The bridge to the hot tub (which I like) reminds me of the widow's walk on the Malibu (filling in for San Francisco) house featured in "House Of Sand And Fog". This would be really special with even a distant ocean view (which is possible from some parts of Brentwood). I like it.

by Anonymousreply 6August 26, 2021 2:46 AM

I like it, but the bathrooms need updating. Kate is gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 7August 26, 2021 2:47 AM

R7 She was the only redeemable part about "Pearl Harbor." Beautiful woman.

by Anonymousreply 8August 26, 2021 2:49 AM

I think the only movie I've seen with her is Much Ado About Nothing.

I love it too. A lot.

by Anonymousreply 10August 26, 2021 3:09 AM

It certainly hasn’t appreciated much since she bought it.

Has Brentwood suddenly become downmarket?

by Anonymousreply 11August 26, 2021 3:10 AM

It’s gross. Brentwood is also gross. I guess the outdoor shower looks nice?

by Anonymousreply 12August 26, 2021 3:17 AM

Four million sounds incredibly low for Brentwood and that house.

by Anonymousreply 13August 26, 2021 3:17 AM

That place is twee

yuck

by Anonymousreply 14August 26, 2021 3:38 AM

The supernatural adventure movies (Van Helsingborg and Underworld) are her bread and butter, but she was also in Pearl Harbor, The Aviator, Laurel Canyon and The Last Days of Disco.

She’s beautiful and she went to Oxford. Love her.

by Anonymousreply 15August 26, 2021 3:43 AM

Brentwood is old-fashioned and overpriced.

by Anonymousreply 16August 26, 2021 3:43 AM

Four million for that house in LA/Brentwood is not overpriced

by Anonymousreply 17August 26, 2021 3:45 AM

I don’t know why my phone decided to change “Helsing” into “Helsingborg” and I never will.

by Anonymousreply 18August 26, 2021 3:49 AM

I thought all movie stars had pools?

by Anonymousreply 19August 26, 2021 9:03 AM

I like it, but there is no pool, so no away. Also, I do not like the blue dot tile. It seems like it would be annoying. Why not just white tile?

by Anonymousreply 20August 26, 2021 9:10 AM

I think these Hollywood people are getting out of California before it dries up or burns down.

by Anonymousreply 21August 26, 2021 9:19 AM

For that kind of money I want a pool, not a silly hot tub with bridge access.

by Anonymousreply 22August 26, 2021 9:19 AM

I’d love it, but there’s something oppressive about the ceilings. In every photo, I was super aware of them pressing down on the room. It’s like the house is being pressed down into the earth or something.

by Anonymousreply 23August 26, 2021 9:21 AM

it's a place you need to see in person.

by Anonymousreply 24August 26, 2021 9:24 AM

The ladder to the upper bookcase is a disaster waiting to happen.

by Anonymousreply 25August 26, 2021 12:35 PM

Celebs are leaving LA and NYC because both TV and film work is done all over the world now, so there’s no reason to feel forced to live in those cities anymore. If they do need to film in those cities, they can either stay in hotels or rent short term and then are free to leave afterwards.
