At her age, I could absolutely see heavy makeup and prosthetics damaging her skin. She's definitely a few years older than she says she is, her eyes are starting to sink in which is common with aging.

Incredibly, most people don’t judge an actor’s level of public recognition on her choice of hair color but instead, on the roles she gets and the awards she’s won. I cannot think of more than one or two movies each that featured Adams or Howard, but there was a time several years ago where it seemed Chastain was in everything.

I would compare her not to those two but to someone like Cate Blanchette, who also seemed to be in everything at one point.

She seems very "phone it in" in her appearances. If i'm wrong, provide an example. the only one she stood out in was the high stakes gambling moving i can't be bothered to look for. Again, she's not all that much. I would say that Amy Adams puts in a much more livelier performance in most she does. BDW - meh.

The trailer makes everyone look like a cartoon version of the real thing. (Given that Tammy Faye was already well into freak show territory in the 1980s this is quite an achievement.) I’ve noticed this in a lot of recent period pictures— everything is exaggerated as if to say ‘OMG how 70s’ or whatever. It just feels lazy to me.

I don’t know who she’s playing in that trailer but it’s not Tammy Faye.

It’s very strange to be of a certain age and these movies come out about people and events that one is very familiar with and these actors get PRAISED for their performances - from Rami Malek to this bitch - and they’re nothing like them at all. I mean, Rami Malek is to Freddie Mercury what Beanie Feldstein is to Monica Lewinsky. Nothing like the real thing.

I think Tammy Faye is difficult to play because it’s hard to see a real person beyond the grotesque facade, and whoever that person was doesn’t strike me as worth knowing. Yes, I know Tammy Faye attempted to redeem herself before succumbing to cancer, but forgive me if I have little sympathy for sociopathic wolves in sheep’s clothing who shamelessly conned elderly people out of their Social Security checks. Her sleazebag ex-husband is still grifting all these years later so clearly lessons have not been learned.

What prosthetics did they use on her? They gave her a new chin and added stuff to make her face more square and jowels.

The trailer looks great and she is almost unrecognizable, completely slips into this character. Also Andrew Garfield is a selling point to watch this movie.

Wikipedia lists her age as 44, I think she looks her age. Why are people claiming that she’s lying?
