Hogan was funded by Peter Thiell specifically to take down Gawker. I doubt that without a financial backer, his case would have gone anywhere. Hogan probably needed the money. Clooney does not.

Also, Gawker published actual information with names and photos, not just some vaporous blind item. For anyone to sue over any blind item would be the world's stupidest move, as that would confirm their identity as the subject of the item.
