More Cody Callahan (aka Bartender Tommy)!!
Btw, is he the one who Deran will hook up with later in the season?
by Anonymous | reply 1 | August 23, 2021 3:34 PM |
Anyone?
by Anonymous | reply 3 | August 24, 2021 2:29 PM |
Off: Finn Cole (J) kinda looks like the gay porn actor Sean Paris.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | August 25, 2021 5:10 PM |
I don’t remember this at all, but it’s so sinister. Maybe I need to rewatch season one.

Cody Callahan reminds me of Shia LeBouf.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 30, 2021 2:21 AM |
Put on your glasses, R11.
Cody is like a million times hotter than Shia.

Kidnapping? Really?

At least one of the Cody's is getting back to normal.
Craig is drinking and druggin' again!

Wow, the Cody boys are FUCKED up.
They definitely needed Smurf

by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 30, 2021 5:04 AM |
This show brings out my baser instincts. Not many gay themes this hot. I am not usually a manther or a faguar, but hey.....
by Anonymous | reply 18 | August 30, 2021 5:10 AM |
I believe there is one more, r17.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | August 30, 2021 5:15 AM |
I believe that a fundamental question was answered this episode, and that was whether or not Smurf was correct in wanting Pope to die with her.
I'm assuming it's because she always knew he was fucked up, and that he couldn't survive without her.
After his "vision quest," and saving Cassandra's relationship with her son, he proved that he can get by without Smurf.
Also, Craig Deran and J were a mess without Pope around. Now that he's back, it seems like he's going to be the leader and take care of them.
I guess Pope just had to prove it to himself, that he had it within him.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | August 30, 2021 6:00 AM |
I’m sure this was posted in past seasons, but I found it interesting.

Ugh, Liam, kidnapped dad, has a phenomenal body, apparently he was a twink actor on the OC, but I like him better here.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | August 30, 2021 7:03 AM |
Yes, R22!!!
He's smoking hot.
Loved seeing him shirtless and in spandex shorts.
The actor is Taylor Handley.
I love whoever does the casting for this show. They find the hottest guys!
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 30, 2021 7:10 AM |
Never saw that before, R21.
Very cool!
by Anonymous | reply 24 | August 30, 2021 7:35 PM |
The second time Deran hooked up with the couple he only hooked up with one and had the other watch. They implied he fisted the guy. Was very hot and rough!!
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 30, 2021 7:41 PM |
R24 It kind of reminds me when they built the Melrose Place set and put in a real pool, the actors said they took it all so much more seriously because they did that, and like on AK, the setting becomes an important character in and of itself. But you got to admit, going from being the Walton’s house to the Cody’s is about as opposite as you can get.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | August 30, 2021 7:43 PM |
Loved watching Deran kick J's ass.

[quote] Loved watching Deran kick J's ass.
Interesting contrast between the reaction of the boys.
Craig and Deran basically sat down with each other and had a beer after the fight.
Crybaby J packed up his shit and started to move out.
If it wasn't for Pope INSISTING that J stay in the house, crybaby J would have left..

Next week’s episode synopsis states Deran receives news about Adrian. What could it be? (1) Adrian committed suicide. (2) Adrian was murdered. (3) Adrian has a new boyfriend. (4) Adrian was captured and is turning on Deran. Each provides a compelling storyline.

J looks adorable with the cuffs on his jeans rolled up, like the Lolipop Guild. They couldn’t find a pair with a 30 waist for someone so short. It would’ve been less distracting if they tailored the bottom.

Yay! I've become a real fan since he first appeared on Animal Kingdom.
He's so boyishly handsome, and has a very shy personality.
I love that.
Unfortunately, I think that also means he's getting the ax from Animal Kingdom.
No more rough sex. Boo! 😢

by Anonymous | reply 54 | September 6, 2021 2:50 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 6, 2021 2:58 AM |
Another good episode.
I loved the bar fight. Ugh that other bar owner from Son of a Beach is such a fucking douche cunt!
Nice to see him get his ass kicked!
They always seem to end an episode with Pope doing some weirdness.
So what was with Pope at the skate park?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 6, 2021 5:01 AM |
Pope used to skateboard...he's back to doing stuff he used to do.

by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 6, 2021 6:35 AM |
R54 It would be kind of interesting to do an episode where Craig needs to go into hiding and change his look by cutting his hair considerably.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 6, 2021 11:25 AM |
Is Adrian dead yet?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 6, 2021 11:33 AM |
R61 No, he’s in Indonesia and must be under some level of surveillance as the Feds know he’s getting money sent from the states. Last night we learned it’s not been Deran sending the money, though he’s had the authorities trying to strong arm him over it, but it’s Adrian’s sister sending the money. Deran confronted her and told her to stop, but we know she won’t so there’s going to be ramifications.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 6, 2021 11:37 AM |
With the sixth and final season about this saga coming it can only end with most of them dead right? Maybe just one of them surviving at the most.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 6, 2021 11:39 AM |
J will be the winner. The tiny little king of the Animal Kingdom.
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 6, 2021 11:59 AM |
J is kind of being quite submissive to Deran and seems to like it, not having to be in charge that is.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 6, 2021 12:22 PM |
Didn't realize that the actor who plays the police officer on J's payroll is gay (or bi or pan or something) in real life
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 6, 2021 7:50 PM |
The police officer is hot as fuck!
by Anonymous | reply 67 | September 6, 2021 8:16 PM |
I had a feeling he was gay, R66. I was definitely picking up a vibe on him.
His interactions with other guys are actually more flirtatious, than conversational. That could be why I was picking up on it.
In his scenes with both Deran/J and with Pope in the Mexican restaurant, I could have sworn he was flirting.
Even funnier, I thought the other officer he was eating with in the Mexican restaurant was his boyfriend.
by Anonymous | reply 68 | September 6, 2021 11:16 PM |
Elliot Knight (the cop) is hot. Anyone know the actor who played the carnitas vendor, Carlos (he's not listed on IMDB)? I loved his voice!
by Anonymous | reply 69 | September 7, 2021 3:12 AM |
I wonder what mama Kim Zimmer thinks about scenes like this.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | September 7, 2021 10:43 AM |

[quote] J is kind of being quite submissive to Deran and seems to like it, not having to be in charge that is.
I'm noticing a shift in this.
At first, Deran wasn't happy about J acting like he was in control of things.
But after they had their family brawl and released all that tension, I think Deran is realizing that J knows what the fuck he's doing.
J is truly the smartest of the Codys and he knew all of Smurf's business dealings.
I think Deran realizes this, and now he's okay with J handling business matters.
In fact, when J asked Deran if he wanted to know more about the details, Deran said "no." Which means he trusts J's judgment.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | September 7, 2021 6:27 PM |
Equally important, J is not acting behind Deran’s back and has sold his condo.
It makes sense they’d have to fumble their way to an accommodation.
by Anonymous | reply 74 | September 7, 2021 6:32 PM |
R1 "More Cody Callahan (aka Bartender Tommy)!! Btw, is he the one who Deran will hook up with later in the season?"
I guess no. Only remember that his name was mentioned at 'Deadline' because he's recurring now. But he was introduced in Season 4 as a bit player and I guess we would've seen some kind of verbal foreplay to that scenario by now. It's probably Deran's enemy Parker played by Trent Garrett (HERE AND NOW and THE DELETED) who is the next boyfriend. Deran and Adrian were introduced in the pilot having sex and violence, so the violence already happened to mirror what appeals to Deran.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | September 9, 2021 4:41 PM |
That would be an interesting twist, R75.
So you're saying that sexual tension is driving their animosity towards each other?
by Anonymous | reply 76 | September 9, 2021 6:32 PM |
Let’s face it, Deran’s go to sex move is the angry fuck, the more intense and dangerous the better as far as he seems. He’s the the poster child for using s3x to blow off steam.

by Anonymous | reply 87 | September 13, 2021 5:29 AM |
I'm starting to think that the cop would be a great match for Deran.
They'd be cute together.
by Anonymous | reply 88 | September 13, 2021 2:52 PM |
R88 What would be interesting in that scenario would be the cop would hold the power and be putting Deran in his place as a submissive bottom for a change.
by Anonymous | reply 89 | September 13, 2021 3:30 PM |
Or maybe the opposite, R89.
Cops are used to being the bully and in charge, so maybe Deran will put CHADWICK in his place!

Deran is a TOP!

Chadwick and Deran would be a hot pairing, but alas, they fed us earlier in the season and they wont do it again, I fear.
And speaking of Chadwick, why is he lowballing himself like this?! $5k plus $2k/mo...after he just killed a federal agent? There are far easier and less risky ways of making a lot more money than that. I guess he just likes doing crime.

by Anonymous | reply 116 | September 20, 2021 4:27 PM |
Livengood's phone, R116.
I didn't see what R111 is talking about, but he's saying that when Livengood's phone notification sounded, it was his daughter saying that he was late to pick her up from soccer practice.
Pope was supposed to have left the phone on the passenger seat next to Livengood's hand, but R111 is saying that he took the phone.
I'm guessing he's going to start communicating with the daughter via text message, because he feels bad that her father was killed.
Pope is becoming the "savior of children" lol.

by Anonymous | reply 121 | September 27, 2021 8:00 PM |
I swear, every single episode this season has been amazing.
That is highly unusual for a television show.
I thought Janine was going to kill Baz' mom. Guess not.
But why won't they kill off Frankie??? Her character is pointless!
Oh, and I kind of like coked up Craig.
The wild card is still Chadwick. Now that he has been dumped by the Codys, I wonder how he will react to it?
by Anonymous | reply 122 | September 27, 2021 11:37 PM |
[quote] Is something going to happen between Deran and Tommy? Is anyone else picking up on sexual tension, or is it wishful thinking?
They would make such a beautiful couple.
Tommy is just like Adrian. He's very loyal to Deran, no matter what.
I hope they address this in the final episode. We have had NO love interest for Deran, this entire season!
With the exception of the two gross whores in the first episode.
by Anonymous | reply 123 | September 28, 2021 12:49 AM |
R123, I agree. If Deran can't have Adrian, then Tommy will do. Let's be honest; Tommy’s hotter.
by Anonymous | reply 124 | September 28, 2021 4:40 AM |
Ugh, it has been a great season, but only one more episode. Thankfully we know that there’s another season so they can give us a phenomenal cliffhanger. I think Frankie’s time is up and hopefully Deran does get his fuck on with someone in the last episode. And will Baz’s mom survive this season? I’m kind of hoping that the flashback section maybe jumps a decade for next season and we see Pope, Julia and Baz as older teens and the younger boys as well as a well oiled theft machine.
by Anonymous | reply 125 | September 28, 2021 7:45 AM |
Animal Kingdom was one of my favorite shows during its first 4 seasons and I was excited to see S5 start, so I set my DVR and recorded the episodes. The strange thing is that I have not watched one yet. One of my favorite things was the Deran/Adrian relationship, and it was a little sad when Adrian left, then Smurf died. I think I need motivation to jump back in - I'm curious to know if the show has held up from the previous seasons or did it lose some of its magic with those 2 characters leaving.
I know they were focusing on Smurf's past with those flashbacks last season, and her black friend who helped her when the twins were young. Am I missing out on great TV or has it gone off the rails? Please let me know w/o spoiling too much. Thanks!
by Anonymous | reply 126 | September 29, 2021 9:25 PM |
Interestingly R126, I thought the show might suffer with Ellen Barkin's absence, but it has not.
The writing went up a notch, and I think her character sucked up a lot of energy from the rest of the cast.
Now they are truly an ensemble cast, and it's fantastic. Plus, the action is off the charts. Like nothing else on television.
Watch the season. You won't regret it.

I forgot to add that Leila George does an excellent job in filling the void left by Ellen Barkin.
The "Smurf" back story is very interesting and engaging.
The writers do a fantastic job in weaving the two timelines together.

I disagree. The Smurf story is predictable. The boys are dull when they have no conflict at home. I assume they will get around to explain why Smurf left everything to her friend, but they seem to have dropped that entire story.
For me, the best part of the season is seeing how Pope and Julia got so messed up. Poor kids.

I'm just happy there are no Nicky or Angela characters to annoy the shit out of me this season.

Pamela did explain it, but it was so brief. And I think that most people didn't expect that to be the end of her story. Maybe the producers had to cut out her story due to Covid.
In any case, she made a reference to Deran that Smurf probably gave everything to her because she knew the boys would fuck everything up. By doing what Smurf did, she managed to get the boys to work together and become a team. Whereas, without her doing that, it would have been a money/property free-for-all, with everyone fighting for their piece of the pie.
Notice how Deran worked with Pamela's attorney granddaughter, to make sure that everything was split up evenly?

No one is more annoying than that ugly fucking Frankie.
I actually liked Angela.

What was it that Pope said to J at the end of this last episode? The cliffhanger. I couldn’t make it out.

I don't think it was significant.
J said he was going to take out the trash bin to the curb, and Pope said that he would do it for him.
I didn't think it was important, but maybe it was.
by Anonymous | reply 136 | September 30, 2021 7:33 PM |
It was significant. I turned on the subtitles. Unfortunately, I forgot what he said.🤷🏻♂️

Speaking of dangling plot points—where’s Pope’s cousin?
by Anonymous | reply 138 | September 30, 2021 7:37 PM |
What happened to Nick Stahl's character?
by Anonymous | reply 139 | September 30, 2021 7:53 PM |
I looked it up for you:
As the episode drew to a close, Craig, missing Nick and stinging from Frankie’s scoldings, actually passed on a chance to get high. Elsewhere, pigs flew, and it snowed in hell. At the Cody house, Deran and J agreed that, despite the difficulties, they should still hit the port. Did any of us really doubt that they would? Finally, Pope and J talked about gun maintenance and how J was smart like Baz and yada yada, and BTW, Pope finally added, “Pete never flushed the coke.” Cut to J’s shocked expression (pictured) in 3, 2…
by Anonymous | reply 140 | September 30, 2021 7:55 PM |
It was significant. I took it as Pope is going to kill Pete. And moreover, he now trusts J to take over, be the "new" Smurf, and he'll handle the dirty work.
by Anonymous | reply 141 | September 30, 2021 8:02 PM |
I really need to see Deran and Tommy fuck in the season finale.
by Anonymous | reply 142 | September 30, 2021 11:54 PM |
I definitely thought I was detecting some tension between them last episode when Tommy was asking Deran about Adrian, but I think if they get together, it'll be next season.
by Anonymous | reply 143 | October 1, 2021 3:57 AM |
There should be a reason they included that scene.
by Anonymous | reply 144 | October 1, 2021 6:08 AM |
R140 Didn't think for a second that Pete really flushed the coke. Surprised the Codys believed it no questions asked.
by Anonymous | reply 145 | October 1, 2021 6:15 AM |
Finale to season five tonight, and apparently a deadly secret from the past is revealed. Maybe that Smurf killed Baz’s mother?
by Anonymous | reply 146 | October 3, 2021 11:53 AM |
^good bet

I'm so excited for the finale.
This has been a fantastic season.

yes, already set my DVR.
by Anonymous | reply 149 | October 3, 2021 4:51 PM |
It has not been a fantastic season. Dropped plot lines, predictable, no internal conflict since the first episodes.
by Anonymous | reply 150 | October 3, 2021 5:11 PM |
Some of us don't over think the show, R150.
We just enjoy it for what it is.
by Anonymous | reply 151 | October 3, 2021 5:22 PM |
I don't think Tommy is making an appearance tonight, which means no loving for Deran. Ugh.
by Anonymous | reply 152 | October 3, 2021 8:14 PM |
I’m sensing a huge cliffhanger tonight, but then a time jump for both storylines when the 6th season opens with a slow reveal of the finishing events and the time in between missed.
by Anonymous | reply 153 | October 3, 2021 8:58 PM |
I don't think robbing the port will go well. it's way too big a job.

did that house belong to the lady who was dug up?
by Anonymous | reply 160 | October 4, 2021 3:38 AM |
That was Catherine, Baz’s ex—Lena’s mother. Pope killed her on Smurf’s orders because they thought she was talking to the police. Pope would never be sloppy enough to bury her on land that was to be developed and with a passport. More lazy writing.
by Anonymous | reply 161 | October 4, 2021 4:21 AM |
During sex, Pope killed Catherine by choking her or smothering her with a pillow.
These boys all have compiled a lot of unpunished crimes, including murders. The movie Animal Kingdom killed off three of the brothers, but the TV show isn't strictly following the movie. Will the writers punish them in the final season? I'm guessing 2 dead brothers, one goes to prison, and one walks (Hey, J.)
by Anonymous | reply 162 | October 4, 2021 4:40 AM |
This show is badass.
I have never been more satisfied with an entire season of a show, than I have with this season of Animal Kingdom.
The ending left a huge smile on my face. And that never happens.
So much action, so much intrigue, so gritty, and it's just INTERESTING. Which is something you can't say about a lot of shows on television.
AK is also totally politically incorrect, which I absolutely love.
In such a pc world, it's nice to see a show like this which is completely refreshing.
That heist left me on the edge of my seat, and just when you thought it was over, Pope goes even more crazy. Lol.
Then there's Janine moving into "her" house, and giving Julia alcohol to sleep. Rofl.
And finally, the sinister look that J gave the other boys at the very ending of the episode. They're all feeling the love, but you just know he's planning and scheming and conniving. Always driven by revenge for his mother's death. He has always hated the Codys.
The show started with J showing up at their door, after his mother's overdose. I think it will end with him coming out on top.

"May we always get what we want, but never what we deserve."
I think that will be the theme for the final season, with them actually GETTING what they deserve.
by Anonymous | reply 163 | October 4, 2021 5:07 AM |
I can't believe that hardly anyone watched the finale.
There was nothing else on!
by Anonymous | reply 164 | October 4, 2021 4:11 PM |
My theory is that in the end Pope will sacrifice his life for J, because he could never protect Julia the way he would have wanted.
by Anonymous | reply 165 | October 4, 2021 4:14 PM |
So, Craig and Pope will each be getting their own businesses, what are they going to be? Hasn’t laundromats traditionally been businesses for money laundering? What other business still uses large amounts of cash anymore?
by Anonymous | reply 166 | October 4, 2021 4:17 PM |
R166, pizza joints.
by Anonymous | reply 167 | October 4, 2021 4:22 PM |
Speaking of money laundering, how does placing a $30,000 liquor order every 2 months help Deran? That’s money going out, not coming in.
by Anonymous | reply 168 | October 4, 2021 4:43 PM |
[quote] So, Craig and Pope will each be getting their own businesses
Craig should open up a skateboard shop or surf shop. That's his thing, and he would be good at it.
Pope... I'm not sure what he's good at. Some kind of social services non-profit, where he can beat the crap out of people who abuse their wives and children, and then bury them in the desert. Lol.
by Anonymous | reply 169 | October 4, 2021 6:13 PM |
I was really expecting something to happen between Deran and Tommy in the bar scene.
I think Tommy was, too. But Deran didn't act on it. Maybe he doesn't see Tommy in that way.
But the anticipation is killing me!
by Anonymous | reply 170 | October 4, 2021 6:29 PM |
At this point I'm wondering if Tommy's just straight.
by Anonymous | reply 171 | October 4, 2021 8:31 PM |
Loved this season. And, yes, I can believe Pope would be so sloppy as to bury a body in a place that would later be developed… along with her passport. He loses his head a lot. Not the brains in that outfit (though more so than poor Craig).
by Anonymous | reply 172 | October 4, 2021 8:50 PM |
They could have used all season to set up Tommy's near-unquestioning loyalty to Deran and how that will (probably) evolve into a relationship, but instead they kept Tommy on the outskirts the entire season, barely hinting that he would be anything more than an extra. Other than that, I really enjoyed the season. We're finally starting to see the darkening of Smurf and her growing exasperation with Julia and the creepy incest-adjacent behavior with Andrew. I wish we had two more seasons!
by Anonymous | reply 173 | October 5, 2021 4:18 AM |
They should do an entire prequel season
by Anonymous | reply 174 | October 5, 2021 4:19 AM |
Tommy is GORGEOUS!
by Anonymous | reply 175 | October 5, 2021 4:22 AM |
Is Craig the only one who hasn't murdered somebody? I can't remember if Baz did or not.
I predict Craig will die in Season 6 just like the character in the movie. And, yes, I realize the series has moved far beyond the film so anything can happen now.
But it would be more shocking to me for Craig to die because he seems the most benign out of all of them at this point.
by Anonymous | reply 176 | October 7, 2021 10:14 AM |
Craig is the dumbest and tied for the most consistently reckless (with Pope). It’s amazing he’s still alive.
by Anonymous | reply 177 | October 7, 2021 10:50 AM |
Smurf survived in the film so I think all bets are off as far as the last season is concerned.
by Anonymous | reply 178 | October 7, 2021 11:02 AM |
I think J will be the only one to walk away, after Pope sacrifices himself for him, somewhat avenging Julia’s death and the last scene will him “rescuing” Lena and setting up a legitimate life with her.
by Anonymous | reply 179 | October 7, 2021 11:57 AM |
J doesn't need to rescue Lena. She was adopted by seemingly nice people and is undoubtedly better off.

The actress who plays young Smurf just filed for divorce from Sean Penn...only after 15 months of marriage.

Cody Callahan posted this on his OF.
Hey guys, i want to explain my absence! Recently i was discouraged from using OF and told that theatrical agents didn’t want to see their actors with an account. I think that’s redic esp because of the content i post so, i had to take the link out of my bio and it kind of put me into a weird place. But i decided that I’m going to keep it, especially for you guys that have stuck by me. So, I’m sorry for the lull, I’ll be back now, and hopefully posting content that you like. Feel free to message me for a chat or requests! Love you guys!!!!
He's had a few butt and bulge shots, but nothing more naughtier than that.

I haven’t watched since they killed off Smurf. I sort of forgot about this show. I haven’t read this thread in case I do decide to watch and don’t want to be spoiled. So, is there any gay action at all this season?
by Anonymous | reply 183 | October 17, 2021 10:04 PM |
Only in episode one, R183.
That's it.
by Anonymous | reply 184 | October 17, 2021 10:10 PM |
R183 Deran has a three way with a couple, but I can't remember if it was one scene or two. He makes one of them watch while he fucks the other.
I don't remember him getting any other action the rest of the season.
You should watch the season. I was skeptical after they killed off Smurf, but I really enjoyed it.
by Anonymous | reply 185 | October 20, 2021 3:45 AM |
This might be the one time where a flashback storyline is just as compelling as the main story. I absolutely loved young Smurf.
by Anonymous | reply 186 | October 20, 2021 4:56 AM |
I actually wouldn't mind a young Smurf spinoff once the series ends.
by Anonymous | reply 187 | October 20, 2021 6:26 AM |
Definitely would be interested in seeing Smurf wrangling and training a crime brigade of four hot, athletic, active, teen boys in 1990s Oceanside.
by Anonymous | reply 188 | October 20, 2021 11:15 AM |
Leila George is outstanding as young smurf. That story has added a lot to the show.
by Anonymous | reply 189 | October 22, 2021 5:38 PM |
Just binge watched the entire season and I didn't miss Ellen Barkin at all. Very compelling storyline but much suspension of disbelief is required, as the show is not good on details. Have to wonder what happened to the hot dad in the desert. Whether he made it back or not, his nosy neighbors would have noticed what went down and you just don't have a kid and his dad taken at gunpoint without it being a major incident. Not to mention the mom and kid having to change identities and him needing to go to school. but oh well, it was a good story.
by Anonymous | reply 190 | June 1, 2022 5:03 PM |
Anyone watching the new season episodes? Looks like they did a time jump for the flashbacks and we're getting teenage Andrew and Baz.
